Coolest thing about polyphia is that it's not just a supporting band for Tim Henson. Scott and the clays all contribute in very unique ways that nobody else could duplicate

Now that she's familiar with them and what they do, I think it'd be fun to see how she reacts to the song "ABC", it just does a great job of showing that even though they are capable of playing extremely difficult things, they also have found a way to bring that in a very digestable pop style. Or introduce Ash to Steve Vai on the song "Ego Death".

It’s not so much about the talent of these musicians as individuals or a group. It’s the minds that can compose it. Many people can play or copy it but the minds that created it are so preciously rare. These are minds that not only touch themselves… but translates what they imagine to most anyone who listens to what they created.

I was fortunate enough to enjoy Polyphia, it was my first concert too. They played their top songs.

“It’s like you just walked into a bar you’re not cool enough to be in.” That about sums up the first time I ever heard this song, perfect imagery.

This reminds me of the acoustic trio that electric fusion guitarists John McLaughlin (Mahavishnu Orch.) and Al DiMeola (Return to Forever) had with flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucia in the early 80's. At the time, they were some of the fastest players around, and had some successful tours and albums (eg. 1981's Friday Night in San Francisco).

9:50 Ditto. Yup, that happened with me and friends when we went into The Gasworks, Toronto in 1990. Everyone said check it out when we went to work in Toronto. As soon as we walked in the door, we knew we were in the wrong place. It felt like everyone stopped and looked at us. We ordered a pint, drank and we left. One and only time I was ever in The Gasworks.

Tim Henson is really incredible at playing guitar, but he does seem quite introspective and quiet. From what I can gather. He learnt how to play violin at the age of three and only listens to rap music now, but this music seems to be more inspired by flamenco and jazz 💃 hence the nylon string guitar, and interesting rhythms

Only now found your channel all though I have Office Blokes on the list. For comparison, please search for 70's fusion band Return To Forever and especially the piece "Romantic Warrior" which is also a title song of the album. Like this it combines jazz and latin elements with energetic, skilful playing.

From what I've seen so far Ash might be a bit crazy, but it is the best kind of crazy!
And who ever said that you need long hair to play guitar: Joe Satriani might have a word to say to them...
Have you two considered having a look at Ayreon?
The Day That The World Breaks Down from The Source (2017) might be a good starting point.
That project has a ton of great singers!

Alot of attention goes towards Tim Henson but without Scott or either of the Clays it wouldn't be the same. I know that this is not their original drummer but he may have been the missing piece to the puzzle & now they are breaking out. All the members of this band are very talented and i saw them live last year , they aren't much for showmanship but they play accurate to the recordings live.

You need to react to "Playing God Guzheng Cover" by 墨韵 Moyun Official. Totally worth it and mind-blowing :D
Love your reactions, especially Electric Callboy reactions. ;)
