Dude your channel deserves more recognition. This is a great video and you had me HOOKED for a game that I never played, and only knew of it bc I watched a single Markiplier gameplay episode like 5 years ago. You are really good this, please keep it up! You absolutely earned my respect and subscription!
Yeah you can tell they decided to focus on multiplayer survival fun rather than horror for the sequel, probably sold more copies because of it though. This industry be like that sometimes.
I recently started playing the forest with one of my best friends and the balance of fear and fun cannot be understated, especially considering how difficult it is to make multiplayer horror games that actually scare you. One time we were just out vibing around the alligator village, planning to make an extra base, yknow having a good time, when *three* mutants randomly spawned on us. The sense of dread I felt in that moment was an insanely sharp contrast to the goofing around we were having mere seconds beforehand, and a testament I think to just how quickly this game will turn from sandbox to horror if you're not careful. It's awesome
Love this game, kinda shocking this video hasn't been seen more - the editing and pacing is really good. Really wish we'd got some smaller "side games" before SOTF about the Pilgrims and Chinese traders, just short horror experiences to flesh out the lore and show how things were before Sahara.
This video absolutely ruled. I'm a casual enjoyer of The Forest, and I knew a good chunk of the mainline story, but I learned so much from this. Jumped back through some of your older stuff: your passion is very clear and your videos are well edited/ produced. Really looking forward to part 2!
excellent video my guy. found your channel through your video on analog horror and was very excited to see you'd done a video on one of my favorite game series. the sibling theory is one that i'd not seen floated before and i like it a lot. im sure your part 2 will be on sons of the forest, which has a lot of really fun and cool lore implications already and it's not fully released yet! keep up the excellent work :)
I think The Forest is a game with a lot done really well but I feel lacks a focus, both in story and gameplay. The story has a lot of non-sequitors, and the gameplay I feel has a weird balance between tense atmospheric cave-exploring and cannibal siege warfare. I mean the game even has an achievment called "You should be looking for Timmy" that you get by building a gazebo, that's really funny but shows even the devs were kinda aware of the problem lol. Kind of hard to be afraid of the genuinely unsettling enemies when I know I have 12 different ways of hilariously dispatching them inside my backpack, and will be eating and wearing them after im done.
DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED BY THE UNDERPERFORMANCE OF THIS VIDEO THE ALGORITHM SHINED UPON YOU AND IT WILL AGAIN JUST HOLD ON TO HOPE YOU WILL BE GREAT
Gotta do inscryption, gonna boom big! Love your video...🎉
Man seeing you get so low views on a video who quality you can feel is just sad.Hope it somehow still blows up

Great video, loved this game I wish I could say the same for the sequel though

Really? My friends think that the game is lacking at both ends the gameplay has taken a major downgrade only good thing I can say is the graphics

Somehow youtube didn't notify me of your upload, so I'm 2 weeks late. But I'll take this as a lesson to manual check for your videos
