I want to work on a magical girl analog horror, where the nameless mc went to hell and became a magical girl, getting her very own devilcat and her job is to take the souls of the people who doesn't deserve to live and kill their soulless monster form but after all of these the main character does get paid pretty good and as the series goes on, two new characters appear in different episodes. Got any ideas or thoughts if you like?

The lore problem is something I like to dub "Halloween syndrome" or the "Halloween problem". It really reminds me of how in the original Halloween, you really don't need any info on Michael Myers. The movie is not interested even in Michael as the man so much as it's only focused on him as this unknowable danger, the fright factor of that movie in part comes because you don't know why he murders or how he operates. This is then of course changed by the sequels where taken as a whole? Michael's story is now based on this cult that several Haddonfield citizens are a part of and the kid being cursed to always hunt his relatives, including Laurie Strode who is totally related to him now and there's an overt supernatural element to it that if you consider the old comics to be canon reveals that basically it's due to freaky shit that occurred when he was a baby as well as freaky crap that occurred during the days of the Salem witch trials. On the surface it adds more to Michael's story and in a basic sense it does but in terms of the horror and what it actually offers, it strips away so much of the creep factor and makes the character far more ridiculous than anything. That's what the additional levels of the Backrooms or the reinterpretations of Slenderman, old creepypasta characters and so on really remind me of. That feeling of stopping to consider the whole Halloween series and realizing Michael Myers is no longer scary and also more than a little stupid. Considering the often young audiences these things grab, I think also it's in part based on people liking the idea of more lore which in turn can be traced to maybe that personal satisfaction that comes with learning anything and everything about something but in turn it leads to stories becoming needlessly cluttered. I mean, I much preferred FNAF when its basic premise was "Animatronics that go wrong and kill people and may or may not be possessed by the souls of children or the owner was just a huge asshole who hated children and wanted to kill them." and not the genuinely ridiculous overly convoluted mess of a story that's far more intrigued in inhaling its own farts than it is in actually telling a good spooky story.

As someone who has been S/A’d, I almost cry every time Cory is mentioned, it’s sick that he used the trauma of S/A as shock value and *merch* it’s gross and sick. It should have never been made for shock value, and merch for that matter. What sick f*ck would wear that? So sick pedo, that’s what i would bet. Chris is incredibly interesting to me in the way his mind is seemingly child like on first glance, but when dug deeper, he is incredibly manipulative. Chris is not smart, not even close, but he is also not brain dead. He knows how to lie to get out of things, even if he does it badly and it doesn’t work. He knows how to use labels and situations to deflect consequences. He is able to understand when he has done wrong and take measures to prevent receiving punishment for it. He is able to understand appealing to things to get what he wants. He has essentially masqueraded as multiple labels and things to project an image that he believes will get him what he desires. When it was 2007 and he wanted a boyfriend free girl, he basically tried to worm himself into the “sensitive understanding but masculine guy” stereotype like a maggot in an apple. I will also say I think he has imitated Christianity to persuade people more than he has practiced it, putting on the face of a good Christian man only to try and get women to fuck. Even if it was painfully obvious he was not what he said he was, he held onto it for so long believing it would get him a girlfriend. When this did not work after years, he switched to the “tomgirl” caricature. Seemingly, he believed that if he got more into girlish things he could be seen as a fun guy who’s confident in his masculinity enough to explore girly topics, and that would be attractive to some women. This again did not work because he was not actually this person, he was a poor imitation of what that kind of human would be. Like a warped funhouse mirror version of a femboy. When this again failed, he hijacked the transgender movement. In my opinion, I think he saw this and saw it a perfect opportunity. It is a vulnerable group of people who do often get subjected to unfair treatment, the perfect disguise for Chris to hide in to continue his seemingly never ending scheme to try and find a boyfriend free girl. When he was called out or attacked, he could simply call transphobia because those people do actually get attacked. A wolf in sheep’s clothing, basically. It is unsettling how he acted out so many of these characters not because he is actually a sensitive Christian man, or a free spirited Tomgirl, or a targeted transgender woman, but because he needs a new sell to try and lure women in. In all honesty though, I think the point we’re at now he doesn’t even know what part to play. Chris’s narcissistic tendencies have seemingly magnified 10 fold and imploded into delusion. He isn’t even concerned with women much anymore. The cognitive dissonance of his lack of a sweetheart conflicting with his narcissistic image of himself has led to a mental break where he believes if he can not a girlfriend, then he is actually god and this is just part of his fate as one. His love quest has been the definition of insanity, and he has finally gone mad from it.

The first time I watched the vita carnis mimic episode i thought it would be harmless. NOPE, I couldn’t sleep at all that night. The thought of a mimic being in my closet or outside my door made me get the worst sleep I ever had

I agree with the general opinion that trend of content = overproduction of that type of content, but I don't think we have to throw the baby out with the bath here. When talking about production companies, I would totally agree with the idea that content is being reproduced all the time and I am sick of it. But digital/internet horror and all of it's genres hold a dear place in my heart, analogue horror is just a new genre was born online, just like mascot horror and ARGs. The really cool thing about internet horror/media is that it's far more accessible than making any type of profession film for the average person. I love that people are getting inspired and exploring ideas. I see these as works of art, and many of the creators of some of the horror content that has been heavily criticized are small/indie creators trying their hand at online multimedia horror, sometimes for the first time ever. I hope analog horror keeps inspiring projects even if they're not all good, and I don't know why low budget content from dedicated people are held to such a high standard, as if writers do not often fall into tropes that have been done in one way or another, even in the professional media industry. I see innovation on youtube that I don't think we'll see done well in studios for years. I also think its worth reflecting on that for every creator making another formulaic horror series, theres a commentator making formulaic criticism videos on them, declaring the death of genres in the same haste taken to create them. No hate to the creator of this video, definitely some valid criticisms and interesting points. The timeline of major players in analog horror up to this point was cool to see laid out. I just am a little tired of the rhetoric that any artist/creator can "kill" a whole genre of content by making a mediocre series or something not up to people's standard, when it is fans that skyrocket these series to the popularity where it gets very heavily criticized after going viral.
