The phrase, "x musician is one of the most underrated of all time" is often misapplied. Not here. It is criminal that this guy is not revered by the masses as one of the greatest musical artists of his generation.

This album means so much to me. It's so good to see Jeremy Enigk still playing music. I wish he had played Shade and the black hat though, my all-time favorite, but this version of Carnival gave me the goosebumps. Amazing artist.

The first time I heard Jeremy Enigk was in 2003 when his song "Set it On Fire" was featured in that movie "The United States of Leland"... I became obsessed with it.
It would have been such a spiritual experience walking by this event know Jeremy was playing in the flesh. Instead I'll continue on with life as if this did not happen in my lifetime.
Sometimes you see bands playing and they look like they couldn't care less about it. This group of musicians, you can tell they're giving it all they've got, and they're destroying it.
I would've loved watching through the windows on the sidewalk. I've seen SDRE a couple times and solo a couple of times... he always puts every bit of his soul into it!!
So I am thinking that Jeremy is an introvert of sorts and his musical career suggests that commercial success was not a primary focus (but a legitimate concern for having a livelihood). And what talent!
wow this is stunning great to see This man still has that voice(actually it sounds even better than the SDRE days to me.) and the lyrics this ensemble band is stunning! Im seriously trying to process how great this sounds.
I remember the guy with the violin from another KEXP video. Possibly the rest of the strings were with him too, but I can't be 100% sure. At least the standing female violinist was with him, most likely.
