The phrase, "x musician is one of the most underrated of all time" is often misapplied. Not here. It is criminal that this guy is not revered by the masses as one of the greatest musical artists of his generation.
His voice cuts straight through my soul....Ever since hearing him playing with SDRE back in the 90's I have loved the music and the voice that is Jeremy Enigk .....such a haunting and beautiful voice
Our daughters turned us on to Jeremy.took us to Dantes in Portland OR to hear a very special night of music ....glad to be here now enjoying!!! Hope you're well Jeremy.. you're very special!!!!!!
It's incredible to hear these songs live again! The songs have stood up to time really well. 20 years after playing the record ceaselessly, it's like receiving a welcome visit from a wonderful friend and picking up where you left off. Thanks KEXP!
i was 15 the first time i heard very brieftly SDRS and until this day its one of my favorite all time records. so glad to see Jeremy doing what he does best ! thanks KEXP !
This album means so much to me. It's so good to see Jeremy Enigk still playing music. I wish he had played Shade and the black hat though, my all-time favorite, but this version of Carnival gave me the goosebumps. Amazing artist.
This is perfection as it meets passion. Enigk is a wonder that shouldn't exist; he renders the heretofore inarticulate so beautifully and consequentially. Thank you, Jeremy Enigk and KEXP.
What a wonderful set. Great to hear his voice again and still sounds incredible. Add this to the news that his new album will be here in October. This is truly going to be a marvelous year in music.
The first time I heard Jeremy Enigk was in 2003 when his song "Set it On Fire" was featured in that movie "The United States of Leland"... I became obsessed with it.
It would have been such a spiritual experience walking by this event know Jeremy was playing in the flesh. Instead I'll continue on with life as if this did not happen in my lifetime.
Sometimes you see bands playing and they look like they couldn't care less about it. This group of musicians, you can tell they're giving it all they've got, and they're destroying it.
I would've loved watching through the windows on the sidewalk. I've seen SDRE a couple times and solo a couple of times... he always puts every bit of his soul into it!!
So I am thinking that Jeremy is an introvert of sorts and his musical career suggests that commercial success was not a primary focus (but a legitimate concern for having a livelihood). And what talent!
wow this is stunning great to see This man still has that voice(actually it sounds even better than the SDRE days to me.) and the lyrics this ensemble band is stunning! Im seriously trying to process how great this sounds.
I remember the guy with the violin from another KEXP video. Possibly the rest of the strings were with him too, but I can't be 100% sure. At least the standing female violinist was with him, most likely.
One of the most under appreciated records and artist.
_It only takes _*_one_*_ to make the journey worth it_
The phrase, "x musician is one of the most underrated of all time" is often misapplied. Not here. It is criminal that this guy is not revered by the masses as one of the greatest musical artists of his generation.
yes
dare i say of all time. at the very least in terms of his voice
deadass, it's a literal crime. and I don't know how he lives and carries it all every day. super stoked for the SDRE reunion tour this yr, though
I was just going to comment that this is the best artist of the 21st century. I mean I'm serious here.
Ehhh. I love a lot of sdre but this is exaggerated.
Return of the Frog Queen is hands-down one of the most underappreciated, beautiful albums of all time. This is amazing.
His voice cuts straight through my soul....Ever since hearing him playing with SDRE back in the 90's I have loved the music and the voice that is Jeremy Enigk .....such a haunting and beautiful voice
This is the best artist of the 21st century. Pay attention kids.

i was 15 the first time i heard very brieftly SDRS and until this day its one of my favorite all time records. so glad to see Jeremy doing what he does best ! thanks KEXP !
Currently obsessed with Ancient Road. Woke up in the middle of the night last week to play it. Just wow.
What chords do you use ? Trying to figure out by watching him here, I am rather novice tho :)
Cheers
So beautiful… Ancient Road made me cry.
This is transcendent. Long live KEXP and Jeremy Enigk.
How do I like it multiple times? Jeremy is the best!
Sunny Day and Fire Theft - Such great memories to this mans music! Thank you so very much! :-)
jeremy you bless the world!
This album means so much to me. It's so good to see Jeremy Enigk still playing music. I wish he had played Shade and the black hat though, my all-time favorite, but this version of Carnival gave me the goosebumps. Amazing artist.
Ariel Acosta Shade and the Black Hat is amazing, I totally agree.
Agreed on the goosebumps. I never gave a good listen to shade but doing so now! Thank you
This is perfection as it meets passion. Enigk is a wonder that shouldn't exist; he renders the heretofore inarticulate so beautifully and consequentially. Thank you, Jeremy Enigk and KEXP.
He's so good and so underrated. I listen to his music all day at work.
He is unique. Amazing to listen to him live
What a wonderful set. Great to hear his voice again and still sounds incredible. Add this to the news that his new album will be here in October. This is truly going to be a marvelous year in music.
So cool, I've been listening to him for so long
Still amazing all these years later.
Fallen Heart wow. Brought out some tears😊
Go Jeremy Go! I've been following you a long time and have never given up on Return on the Frog Queen. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for everything, KEXP.
Aiñ! Love him since 1999
Jeremy is amazing, I have loved witnessing the arc of SDRE to his solo albums. Wish I could have seen this iteration of his live act
Seeing him April 8th! So excited. Been listening to his voice on records for 25 years and I've never seen him perform live.
Jeremy Enigk gives me the chills, in a good way
The first time I heard Jeremy Enigk was in 2003 when his song "Set it On Fire" was featured in that movie "The United States of Leland"... I became obsessed with it.
Jeremy's music is my inspiration, wow!
Gives me chills.
I know of it....That show's I've been traveled, eh? I'm lucky, That's the bottom line.
Where's BIll Murray when you need him, huh???????
absolutely amazing.
He is my favourite ♥️
Great music! I'm so happy to have found this on KEXP! I'm a new listener to KEXP and am so happy to have discovered your channel..Thank you..
This is amazing..
YES YES YES doing ROTFQ material with the full baaand
Gahhhh can't wait for his new album!
Wow - that last track
Underrated. Saw him perform this album in Detroit shortly after its release.
It would have been such a spiritual experience walking by this event know Jeremy was playing in the flesh. Instead I'll continue on with life as if this did not happen in my lifetime.

wauw, such beautifully played! Great musicians!
The Clarences love & support KEXP and Jeremy!
I would've loved watching through the windows on the sidewalk. I've seen SDRE a couple times and solo a couple of times... he always puts every bit of his soul into it!!
they were all amazing! c:

Abegail Anne is truly ridiculous. Just a fantastic tune.

Pure musical poetry

Epic album and tour. Great video!!!
The pane glass windows are reverberating!
THIS IS THE BEST
Lost in a beaty 😌 The last song is really amazing 💜👍
Genius
So I am thinking that Jeremy is an introvert of sorts and his musical career suggests that commercial success was not a primary focus (but a legitimate concern for having a livelihood). And what talent!
Lost in a beauty.
Geicos commercial "A triangle solo?!"?! YESSS!! he slayed!
wow this is stunning great to see This man still has that voice(actually it sounds even better than the SDRE days to me.) and the lyrics this ensemble band is stunning! Im seriously trying to process how great this sounds.
I feel lucky I got to see The Fire Theft live years ago but, unfortunately, haven't seen Sunny Day Real Estate live.
Woah!
i fucking luv this guy
I remember the guy with the violin from another KEXP video. Possibly the rest of the strings were with him too, but I can't be 100% sure. At least the standing female violinist was with him, most likely.
🙏🏽🖤
master
Is that the guy from sunny day real estate?
Yes he is
YES!
Yep. Hard to mistake that voice.
THAT'S HIM in PERSON !!
no its cloudy night fake plot
But this is so good! I would recommend Red Can! I see a Sunny Real State vibe there...
Awesome!!!
he looks uncannily like my 10th grade science teacher now
Wow, incredible! Are you going to release a live recording (audio) of this for purchase or download or anything? This is incredible!
"Carnival" song is sick.
Uhg! Why didn't I go see him/them in Denver?????
jeremy わしはネット苦手やから、はよう作品出してな!
そして、日本にも来てな。
あんたの演奏を日本で聴きたい!

you should hear him when he was younger… they sound exactly alike
Love u JE!!! $dRe.....
Jeremy looks like tony soprano lol
Is there anyway to download the audio of this session?
Wow. Sunny. Only started being turned on to this guy. Freaking excellent songwriter.
Why is Tony Soprano singing like Jeremy Enigk?
There is someone playing across the road.
This is my church
He should do a show with David Bazan where you can't tell them apart until they start singing
his website link doesnt work
Who is the guitar player? His voice goes great with Jeremy's.
Tomo Nakayama
*SDRE*
looks like god damn David Bazan
Hey you on the cello!! Do you watch this video at all?
An artist only for selected people
*swoons
I wish the drummer would have considered the fact that he's playing next to a shit load of acoustic instruments.
The drums were mic'd. You're listening to that feed. They mixed the drums loud.
the decemberists were just copycats
wow...who knew he looked like a skinny Tony Soprano??
Great to see Louis CK working again
Louis ck lol
