I got mine from the trash a few years ago I found it and a bunch of games while I was out for a walk I have around 10 games for it and the controller's I have don't have that screw for the joystick and the wires come from the top not from the side I also have a Right hand Arcade Control stick and that Transbot card game
Nice! I hope to get a video up soon of the Arcade Stick thing! I have not seen any videos or even at game collectors stores that have that screw stick for the game pad at all.
I never had a SMS but my cousin did. It was (and still is in a more limited capacity) a family tradition for my aunt & uncle to host the extended family on Christmas day. As soon as dinner was over us kids went straight to his room to play the new SMS games he got and that's what we did all day while the adults smoked and drank in the living room. I was super jealous that he had a TV in his room lol, and also pretty jealous that he had a SMS while I had a NES. While the NES had a bigger selection of games, the SMS was way more powerful and I never once played a version of any game that was better on NES than it was on SMS.
Great memories! I agree, the best example in my opinion was Double Dragon. It was only one player on the NES and it stayed true to the arcade as a 2 player on SMS. It was definitely a unique system. Lime tge genesis. No comparison ti the NES.
Ahhh cool I came across your video, I grew up on the Master System, I loved the built in snail game! I still have mine from 1986. Not the box though. I'll probably do a video on it again as I've deleted alot of my retro gaming console videos. I have the sports pad, and other accessories.
@@smittysadventures8436 3D glasses, the little joy sticks you could screw into the game pad. I'll have to check out the other video as well! I've subbed. take care!
I think the reason the controllers were $22.50 especially for the launch model is due to the dpad having the mechanism to support a Joystick i think they got cheaper once sega removed that feature down the line but i could be wrong I'm just speculating but yes i would say that was quite expensive for a controller in 1986
So I just a calculation. It'd be just under 62 bux in today's money..really not that bad. Walmart is still selling a PS4 controller for 75. It'd be cool to see later models replacement lists and see where they stand!
Amazing. My dad bought it for me in 1986.. everyone else had nintendo. But I had a robot cartridge transbot. Like this system so much but yes nintendo is better.
@@danramirez420 I totally lucked out. A fellow at work, his father in law asked him to toss it. He sold it to me and I'm shocked by the condition its in. Plus the little extras I got with it
@@smittysadventures8436 the earlier releases had the cord coming from the sides due to the sega taking cues from the Famicom in Japan with mark 3 so it had cords on the side and a dock for the controllers but didn't carry that feature over to the west yet they kept the cords on the sides :)
A true classic. Long live sega
Brings back childhood memories? Boy, the cassettes used to be soooo expensive !
Yes!! I can't remember what my mom would've paid back in the day, but I remember paying $105 after taxes fir NHL 98 for the genesis!
I Love the Sega Master System! 🕹🎮😀😀
Me too!
*Mii too!*

@@smittysadventures8436 Agreed, but SMS didn't have much 3rd party support. In fact, Sega consoles in general didn't.
@@RickyIcecubes Bingo! Well I'm glad bible games never ported over to the genesis lol!!

great console, it was my first game console, although mine was the model 2 because this one wasnt released at the time in my country.

I'm trying to imagine a game console today being packaged with two controllers and an accessory like a light gun.
Right!! Even 3rd party console makers barely give you 2 controllers!
*Love it! Had the same unit but in Europe and Asia the games were built-in!?!* ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
The unit I had as a kid had Hang On and safari hunt built in. This one has Snail Maze built in!
Master system, my love !

I found it was released in Canada through Irwin Electronics (a division of Irwin Toy). And the package had French translation on it!
This system needs to receive more credit.
Yes, I've always thought the same!

Thank you for watching! Yeah fir some reason Nintendo was always more popular but I found the games for SMS and genesis to be much better.
@@smittysadventures8436 me too, I got master system. Then later when it was released in got genesis.
Cool video man
Thanks!
You didn't showed the ac adapter, I was looking to knew wich aca adapter model came wih this Power Base 3010

Fun Fact: The 86 Sega Master System Was The *VERY 1ST* Video Game Sega Company Ever Released!
Yes! Just learned that fact not long ago!
Very cool Chanel very underrated
Thanks!
i just bought one that looks like this model off ebay...did yours come with the mini sticks?
Yes it did! I play Double Dragon using them on another video. They suck lol did you get them too?
just saw the rest of the video and i'm jealous...parts for this system are hard to find

I always find it weird that some Sega master system controllers have the cable coming out of the side of it where others have it coming out of the top
Yes me too! The one I had as a kid had the wires coming from the top of the controller. I'm thinking this unit might be one of the earlier releases.

NTSC Version
American NTSC, because Japanese NTSC has a lot more improvements, like 3D glasses imput, fm Chip and rapid fire.
how much was this system?
I got it from a coworker. I paid 100 canadian. It was a great deal!
