+Elizabeth L. Thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated! I've only been doing youtube videos for a short while, it's great to hear people get something from them. Subscribers welcome! :)
+Global Garage You're a talented guy at them! They're massively informational and I love the fact you do alot of content on Sega consoles. Sega was always treated as the Nintendo's less popular brother over here in the US, unfortunately. But there are a few of us Americans that fell in love with the systems. Your videos and content are awesome, Darren. More subscribers will definitely come, I'm sure of it. Keep up the great work! :)
Elizabeth L. Thank you so much Elizabeth. Yes it seems Nintendo was marketed very well in the US and Sega never really had a chance. The book Console Wars tells a great story about that period of time. Here in Australia and the UK the Sega brand was far more successful. I personally had both Nintendo and Sega consoles at various times while growing up and believe both brands made exceptional games that just aren't made these days. "Back in my day" I sound old haha
Global Garage Absolutely welcome, Darren! You really do create fantastic videos. There are others out there, but you explain everything in depth, get a solid shot, and explain why you're doing what you're doing. It really is phenomenal quality. I'm like you, I had both Nintendo and Sega as a kid. My NES kept breaking though, and my Mom refused to buy me anymore Nintendo gaming consoles. So, I had to switch to Sega until I could afford my own consoles. I do so love the Sega systems though. I can't tell you how many countless hours I have spent playing Shining Force I and III on Genesis. Fantastic times and a great memory of mine growing up.
Hi, if you still have this, do you have Gangster Town, and can you try firing the gun at point blank range on the left side of the screen and the right side of the screen and describe how accurate the gun is left to right? I am trying to determine if the MiSTer FPGA SMS core and the Megadrive core are acting the same as real hardware. It fires off to the right in the Megadrive core, and is more accurate in the SMS core. In both cores, the right side of the screen is more accurate than the left side of the screen. Thanks!
My gun won't shoot the bottom of the screen or the left side. It only shoots about 40% of the screen from the upper right corner. Would that be in the gun or the TV? The tube in the TV has been replaced before. Don't know if that would pose an issue.? Also looks like someone has been into the gun. Every screw head is stripped out and the sticker is missing.
Great Video, thanks. Can u use the Light Phaser on the new digital smart tv's? Also, my connection is a little off. I actually have to push down on the guns connector in order for it to work. Is there a way to fix that? Again, great job; and I did both like and subscribe.
Came to the comments for the same question. Looks pretty awesome but I can't imagine that a wireless rf signal would ever be worth using. Looks good for decoration though.
My light phaser was working fine. Then I traveled and tried it just now on a different CRT tv. Now you have to aim 6” to the left. I don’t see how the diode could disalign so easily. It literally was working fine yesterday. The gun just traveled in a box in my car for 12 hours. Is it the different tv?-maybe a refresh rate problem or something?
Thoroughly enjoy your videos, Darren. They're extremely informative, well done and interesting. You definitely deserve more subscribers.

I wonder if you could upgrade the lens to glass and if it would help with accuracy

how come the sega gun dont work on 1080p tvs??
What is the SEGA antenna looking thing on the TV?
It's the SEGA Telecon pack - segaretro.org/Telecon_Pack
You don't have much of an option... Just go to your local Walmart or hardware store and pick up a set of Torx bits for less than $10
