- I unbox my model 1 Sega CD and show what was included with it. There is no gameplay but the system's full intro is shown near the end: 18:37. Also, if you'd like to get an in-depth look at the software here is a good video by Jenovi: • Sega CD Pack-In Launch... .

Thanks for sharing. I really like this video. I was a Nintendo kid growing up, but I was secretly jealous of my "rich kid" friends who had a Genesis and a Sega CD. It is fascinating to see the original packaging. I think it is amazing that this is the same box and everything that you had back in the 90's.
Glad you liked it. I did hold onto most of my video game packaging, especially as I got older, just wish I had kept more of the toy boxes but most of that stuff got tossed.
Hey its good you be Nintendo kid because now Nintendo is better than sega and genisis :)
(18:37) Oh no... this dude plugged in his audio cables wrong... I can tell because there are no drums...
The more I listen, it sounds like a remix based of of when you do bad in a parappa game
Guess he took audio directly from the mega drive probably due to lack of rca cables to line in on the pc
I agree that, with the digital age, there's no excuse not to include a pack in game with systems. Nintendo seems to do that some but sadly didn't with the Switch.
hey good on you for this one, great work my dude
A new Sega CD unboxing video...nice...although I'm still trying to see what the darn registration card looked like in it. My Sega CD is missing it..i know its a music sweepstakes one but need to see the wording on it compared to the ones that came on the back of early Sega CD manuals.
Since you mentioned it has a sweepstakes I expect this is completely unhelpful but I just found a couple registration cards though neither is for my Sega CD as far as I can tell. However, they are identical aside from pre-printed serial numbers so Sega likely used the same standard registration cards for a while, though it's possible they changed before the Sega CD. One that I found is for the Master System which is, of course, older but I cannot match up the serial number on the other card to any system I have (checked the Genesis, CD, 32X, Saturn, Game Gear, and Dreamcast).
Soul Feces was pretty good, although I played the heck out of Sherlock Holmes. I bought mine on launch day at Sears.
Although I got my first job to buy this, I don't recall where I got it. I did buy my Sega Saturn at a Sears.
Bro launch edition? and you have it since then? amazing, so what's the problem? busted laser? broken belt?
I'm not too sure, my electronics knowledge is not great. I've also got a Game Gear that requires repairs (no sound) and I've got the parts it needs but I'm hesitant to even attempt it.
i loved the sega Cd
thx god we got the sega cd to help remove tapes
Great Video 👍👌👏
Thank you!
Hell of a game lineup!
Sorry for typos i cant stand iphones but sega cd was a great console loved the MULTIMEDIA games
You should definitely use a Mr Clean Eraser for some of those scratch, then touch up the plastic with some WD-40, and replace the capacitors on the Sega CD; the sound is pretty crap the capacitor is definitely gonna get fried soon
You don't want to use anything abrasive on electrical contacts. It'll just file off the metal and make it oxidize quicker. It's best to use an electrical contact cleaner. Barring that, a pencil eraser is fine as that's more sticky for dirt rather than scratchy but contact cleaner is best.
I know why its playing your cds I remember when they came out they had a disk eye getting off balance from not sitting upright you can lay those upside down or on its side you screw up the balance of the cd reader
It's possible it got banged around as I moved many times and hadn't turned it on in quite some time. I'm finding so many old items that don't work any longer. I expect the Sega CD can be fixed though, I'm just not handy with electronics.
So does the model 1 Sega cd only fit on the Genesis model 1???
Officially yes. I expect it's possible to get a Genesis 2 to work on it but it wouldn't look good and I never tried it. The Sega CD 2 supports model 1 and 2 Genesis consoles. The Genesis 3, however, doesn't work with any Sega CD.
The audio in the start up is not normal, i think the sound chip may be busted
I hadn't noticed, thanks for pointing it out.
Vault 1541, no I think you inserted the mixing cable thats why it sounds like that. all you have to do is pop out the white audio cable from the Genesis. Leave it dangling. instert the red and white RCA cables in the Sega CD to the TV. And then instert mixing cable. From the Genesis to the CD. You will get great audio by doing that. :)
@@TheAngel_IsHere This is the reason. It would make zero sense for the audio chip to be busted just from sitting for a long time.
@@RonyIsaPony capacitor leaks, maybe damaged a pin or something
@@nuclearkitten6421 thats a good point actually. possibility. However in terms of the Sega CD the audio mixing would he the first thing to rule out as it's common that people experience this.
Where did you get the model 1 Genesis cd?
I bought it when it was new so that was back in 1992 and I really don't recall at which store.

Model 2 with looks better but model 1 looks okay. ^-^
I like the Model 1 even though it is bulkier and probably doesn't work as well, at least mine is struggling. I've only used a Model 2 once though and that was a very long time ago.
I like model 1 more than 2 model.
Just open the system already
This is sad I just had to skip through all your talking just to see you open the thing
