    As a late Gen Z, here is my take here. Sure, he spends his money wastefully. But who could blame him? Prices keep on growing in all fields; utilities, transportation, housing, etc. It's easy to say to save. But for what? This is no longer the 1970s where a single job could support a family. We now like in the 2020s where the minimum wage is only really meant for a single person to survive on. Take me for example. I came from a family of 4. I have a sister who has autism. My father also works so there are 2 breadwinners in the family. And almost all our salary gets spent on paying the mortgage, utilities, food, and transportation. I could only save about 5-8% of my wages. But the prices keep on increasing as days go by. If I don't have my family to push me forward, I probably would lose all hope. And at least he doesn't have any vices like drinking, smoking or taking drugs. Those may be cheaper at the start, but it will be more expensive in the long run.

      As mentioned, you're a Late Gen Z, so you're still relatively young, probably around 25yrs? If so, you have barely any working experience and have yet to venture out into the working life much (assuming you're Singaporean and have served your national service and completed your University studies). Give yourself more time 5-10yrs to work and carve a career path for yourself. Life is not all bad if we can look at the positive side of it, stay happy and plan for things in the future. I'm a Milleninial, born in the 80s, but in my household, I'm the sole bread winner, my wife retired when we got married 7yrs ago. I work hard for my family and can still save 30-40% sometimes even 50% of my salary each month (compared to 10yrs ago when i was living paycheck to paycheck). All these takes time and hardwork, unfortunately too many younger folks are complaining more than they are working hence creating a trend among those in their 20s. Stay away from the "3 demons", gambling, drinking and womanizing, life would be bright for you. Good luck!

    I kinda like that his mother is willing to allow him to try for his dreams first. Seems like she has all the necessary financial know hows to teach him when he himself chooses to learn i.e not forcing it on him. He's also young enough to fail and still be relatively fine. Money is important, but so is balance.

      Just to add on for people to learn.
      光 means light, 月光 is moonlight but 光 can means empty as well.
      月 means moon but 月薪 means monthly salary.
      月光 is not an official term but if you combine it can mean emptying/finishing of monthly salary
      Mandarin/Korean/Japanese can be hard to learn but combing words like this can be pretty fun and versatile for memes

    I also don't plan on getting married or having children (well, more like because no one wants me so I know I'll be forever alone. But I digress). However, that's the more reason to save up for the future for me. I don't wanna be someone old, alone, and with no money to take care for myself 😞 Hence, I saved up like crazy so I could depend on myself without troubling anyone.

      It's a self-fulfilling prophecy, you can change your mindset if you work on it. Life is much easier to bear if you have family to rely on.

    • @64ytb
      @64ytb Год назад +17

      Good for you. Don't marry if you cannot cope. Don't dig a big hole for yourself which you cannot come out of.
      Also, my advice to you, keep yourself eductaed on healthcare and nutrition. Learn to take good care of your body if you want your body to take good care of you when you grow old. Good health is a discipline, not a given. When you grow old, you have to take care of yourself. So start learning good habits now. don’t wait until sickness come, then you want to change your diet. It’s too late. Prevention is cheaper than cure.

    • @64ytb
      @64ytb Год назад

      @@NickSiekierski . That is a big IF. But if you are unlucky and you got a autistic child like my friend, it’s a lifetime commitment until you die, there is no payback.
      Or if you invest all your life’s savings for your child’s education and in the end you get zero from them.
      Or if you invest all your life on your child and in the end he die from an accident.
      There are too many uncertainties in life. Try your luck if you want.
      Better to rely on God and yourself. Not the God from temple or church, but the God within yourself.

Broke pension and health care systems, unsolvable asset bubbles, broke government, low pay,long working hours, low quality life, polluted environment.... so better let themselves feel happy now.
    Somehow it's a correct mindset. Luckily the young guy in the video doesn't have to pay rent or mortgage so he still can have a bit happiness, for now.

    The government should prioritize support for the current working population aged 30 to 45, the backbone of our economy. By leveraging machine learning and large language models, we can empower them to stay productive and contribute meaningfully to society without experiencing slowdowns.
