If WALLACE is Wallace and Gromit that's pretty obscure.
@@chinareds54 not for us Brits. Makes up very slightly for a year of baseball NFL and basketball plus US sitcoms that don't make it outside N America .
Plus by elimination if you knew Shaggy Charlie Brown and Dorothy from Wizard you could guess it just like people often guess the fourth category whilst knowing three others.
I am trying not to "sweat the small stuff" in life such as the NEED to do well in these games. You have been quite the CONNECTIONS BEAST recently, Art! I live in the Akron area of Ohio which is just north of Canton. 😊

Keep doing the Sports Connections! I find that even though sports is not my forte, I can still solve the Sports Connections puzzles before watching you solving it.

In Wordle there were three options left after FINAL WORDS and I managed to pick the correct one for my third guess.
I couldn't see it and by luck chose a filler word which had the remaining,letters including the starting letter CUTEY. After that cloud fell out

I also had a perfect solve, seeing what you did. Easy to clear yellow and green. I then entered purple, and best I could think of were fictional teenagers (Dorothy from Wizard of Oz then Shaggy from Scooby Doo). Turns out I was on the right track.

Finally got my connections stats up to fifty percent no mistakes.
I thought the pet dogs was easy: immediately, SHAGGY brings to mind Scooby-do, and WALLACE pairs with Gromit. Then it was fairly obvious that DOROTHY and CHARLIE complete the set.

CLOUD -That's not just "BLOOD CLOUD", but "MOLDY BLOOD CLOUD" for my last three guesses, which, yeah, is actually kind of nonsensical, but even so is still even MORE of a creepy horror vibe. (as for my 2nd guess, that was just me screwing around, experimenting with letter placement, accidentally hitting "enter", and somehow the game accepted it as a valid guess. Apparantly it used to be a word like 500 years ago or something.)
Today's Connections puzzle was built entirely around the Red Herring that one word from each category was the name of one of the four main characters from some old 80's sitcom, I've already forgotten which one but it was one Doug used to watch regularly & he fell for the trap hard. It also completely flummoxed me in that I got no further than the Cooking with Heat & Water category and recognizing "Roam" and "Soul" as city homophones, and guessing that "Keto" was also probably one, but I burned all my guesses trying to find the fourth.

I did nicely in wordlenwith and 3. I'll miss the 2 word challenge. I got lots of 3's.
Strands was Art perfect. I only knew a few of the classes so it took a bit.
I had 1 mistake today, I went for cartoon characters which included Sophia the first from Disney.

Hard Mode still let you ignore some info such as use a letter known to be not in the answer or place one where it is going to be Yellow. So how about Ultrahard? If we've had the starter already I may go for something nearby e.g SCALY tomorrow. 3 today: quail,bluer,cloud
I immediately fell for the obvious "Golden Girls" trap. Yet another trap for me where one of each of the four was from a different actual category! But it didn't even go on your radar.
