As a young nipper, I remember tuning into radio Luxembourg on my old transistor radio...looking out of my window, with a spectacular view of Swansea Bay...Life was simple back then..Van Morrison is so in touch with himself..life.. his music is transcending, it washes away the pettiness of this harsh world. The whole album is a true masterpiece, I used to listen from start to finish whilst commuting from my home to London every day, 2 - hours each way. Always cheered me up.
It’s definitely one of my favorites. It really is hard to find a favorite of Van’s they are all so good and meaningful!

A riddle of Zen Buddhism - like "why is a mouse when it spins" - provisional teachings pointing fingers at the moon - the only difficulty I had with Van was that he walked too fast - he wouldn't want to stop, in case any strangers wanted to talk to him - I know - I was there

It was Easter Sunday morning, March 31, 1991 (it was also what would have been the 111th birthday of my maternal Grandfather from Ireland, Henry Waldron), and I was running rather hard up the Harlem Hill of Central Park in Manhattan (in training for the NYC Marathon of November 3, 1991), when magically through my earplugs came, Enlightenment by Van "the man" Morrison. Instantly, I felt the beauty in everything, as if I was in heaven, or seeing through God's eyes. It was one of the most transforming moments of my life. Thank you, and bless you, Van Morrison for Enlightenment, and the fifty plus years of the most beautiful music you have bestowed upon us.

I could have missed them but I didn't see a couple of my favorite VM songs on your list. I don't think either of these were hits for him and I'm pretty sure most VM fans are not that familiar with them, but, they are on RUclips so do yourself a favor if your love Van's music and you love finding those obscure little treasures. Your own Being is the Truth and integrating yourself into your Being rather than identifying with the thoughts in the mind is enlightenment . ✌️🕊️🕉️
WE've reached stage one on the path to piercing the veil presented to us - What is enlightenment? Answer that Van must know by know now - The persona we thought was us, is just a facade...Our authentic self come from a deeper source - perhaps from the Ocean Beneath the Sea - I wish Van would touch his Celtic soul/DNA ane write that song for us to witness the result of the great transformation...the eyes that can now see through the illusions we are presented with - to the myteries we have lived through that proves beyond a doubt that the real world is not what Issac Newton thought it was...that Plato was on to it as was Siddhartha...the real relation - the underlying theme...
