  • A beginners guide to how to drive the “tough” part of black bear pass outside of ouray and telluride Colorado. Done two days after opening this year in my 1999 Toyota Landcruiser. Vehicle is set up stock with 31in all terrains. You dont need a jeep, but you do need a vehicle with some clearance and flex along with real 4 wheel drive. (No AWD) Don’t freak out, It’s a beginner trail with expert consequences.

Great run-through of that section of the trail! I appreciate you putting this out there.

"staying on the outside, not climbing the wall" thank you for that secret.

Wow, wow, and wow! You must have very steady nerves. I was almost falling out the passenger side window on some of those turns. The views were fantastic, but I would dare not gaze and drive at the same time. Great drive! Thank you for sharing.

BBP is easy..... the only thing about it is that it's dangerous for idiots because of the possible fall. Nothing technical about this trail.

I did it two years ago and my 2016 trail edition 4Runner, no issues. I’d like to go up it when they do it reversed.

Great Video. We just made it back from our trip to Ouary and Moab. I loved Black Bear pass but Poughkeepsie Gulch and Yankee Boy were my favorites.

Really tempted to try this in a manual forester with 2" lift and full protection.
Did multiple trails in Moab, wanna hit this on my way through colorado next time

lifts and protection dont make up for a lack of low range. try at your own risk, but i would rather do it with 2low than just AWD.

@@BattleRattle4x4 yep exactly right. No low range is one of my biggest achilles heel.

Yeah, it’s a juggling act, guiding, filming, and dangling off a ledge.

This convinced me not to take my new car on this. Too narrow for my taste.

Why don't people get someone to run the camera while they explain the project. He should have stayed home.
