    How to Make Marshmallow Fondant:
    • The BEST Marshmallow F...
    White Almond Sour Cream Wedding Cake
    Ingredients
    1 (18 oz) boxes white cake mix
    1 cup cake flour
    1 cup granulated sugar
    3/4 tsp salt
    1 1/3 cups water
    1/8 cup veggie oil
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 teaspoon almond extract
    1 cup sour cream
    4 large egg whites
    Directions
    1 Place all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl and stir together with a whisk.
    2. Mix all wet ingredients (except water) in large mixing bowl.
    3. Mix dry ingredients into bowl of wet ingredients, interchanging with the water, so it never gets too dry or watery.
    4. Pour into greased cake pans, filing each pan a little less than half full.
    Bake for about 35 minutes at 350 degrees. It may take longer but just bake them until you can insert a toothpick into the middle and have it come out clean.

    You did an awesome job with this cake! What size cake did you make? and how do you know how much fondant to make for a certain sized cake? And how do you know how big or thin to roll the fondant?

    • @TheLittleBlackShadeTree
      @TheLittleBlackShadeTree  4 года назад +1

      Thank you so much! This cake was four layers of an 8 inch round cake. As for rolling out the fondant, the thinner you roll it, the more bumps and lines it will show through from the buttercream layer. If it's really thin it will also stretch too easily as you try to lift it and lay over the cake. It's a bit of trial and error to see what works best for you but I would recommend erroring on the slightly thick than slightly too thin. As for how much fondant to make for any certain sized cake it's also been a lot of trial and error for me but I usually make 1 batch of fondant for a cake. If it's two tiers than I sometimes have to make another half batch or full batch. If you'd like to try my recipe, here is the link to the video and the full recipe is in the comments: ruclips.net/video/PaXUclCum2Q/видео.html I hope that helps!

    Hi,
    What type of adhesive are you using to put the decorations on the cake?

    • @TheLittleBlackShadeTree
      @TheLittleBlackShadeTree  3 года назад +1

      Hi! I’m just using water because once it touches the fondant (concentrated sugar) it gets really sticky :)

    Should I let the Minnie Mouse cuts dry before sticking them to a buttercream cake? I’m not covering in fondant.

    • @TheLittleBlackShadeTree
      @TheLittleBlackShadeTree  3 года назад +1

      No I would not let them dry because they will comfortably mold to the shape of your cake if you place them on while they’re fresh. Good question!

    Hey, what size cake pans did you use?

    • @TheLittleBlackShadeTree
      @TheLittleBlackShadeTree  3 года назад +1

      I believe this cake was from 8” pans but I love making 6” wide cakes that are extra tall, so either would work great.
