36 weeks today! I’m a first time mom due with a boy. I’m hoping for an unmedicated labor too, this video and your other videos have been very helpful! 😃
You are the first women EVER that I have heard share the same sentiments about labor. I'm not a huge fan of pregnancy ( not a walk in the park for me), but I love giving birth:) This is my last pregnancy,I am going to really miss pushing out my babies. I have had to epidural births and 2 epidural-free. Everyone thinks I a cookoo when I say it but I love giving birth. It is such an empowering and beautiful moment getting to see that little face at the end.
Didn't really prepare for labour the first time around and was so so lucky that it was 2 hours from beginning to end and he came out so fast but not knowing what to do made the contractions SO MUCH WORSE! This video is so helpful as I start to prepare for baby #2. Thanks so much for sharing!
@@shanteschlebusch4063 I've learned that my labours are quite quick which makes them more intense. It was the same with our second (born in November) who came even faster than our first if you can imagine. If it makes you feel better, it may be worth having a doula that can go on the ride with you and talk you through things while your partner drives.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I had the opposite experience with my 3rd birth/first home birth. I didn't think I'd have a water birth, but once I got into the tub, I couldn't get out. I tried once to stand up and nope. At the end, I couldn't move. So definitely be prepared to go with the flow! Each birth is different. One thing that helps immensely is relaxing and picturing your uterus muscles pulling back when the cramp/surge starts - so it's not just a random pain, it's actually MOVING towards something. Picture yourself opening up. Good luck to everyone!
I'm 29 weeks, with my second. I'm having unmedicated and I've been terrified since the beginning of this pregnancy. I had an epidural with my first. Your tips and advices really are helping with my anxieties right now. I'm gonna watch this video every day until all these are cemented in my brain.
I’m 35 weeks and I’ll be 36 weeks tomorrow 😭 I went to my checkup appointment last week and I’m dilated at a 2. They told me that I’ll be having her way sooner and I’m just kind of freaking out. I’m going fully natural as well.
Thanks for sharing your experience here! I gave birth to my boy a month ago and during all my pregnancy I wished a natural birth, I wanted the experience and to be able to push my baby out of me and into this world. I wasn’t able to experience that because the umbilical cord was very very short, so my baby never fit in the birth canal and I never had dilatation. So.. I had a c-section. At first I was disappointed at myself and ashamed, just as you said, but then my obs told me that this was the safer way for both of us and that nature is so intelligent.. my baby would have been hurt if he had inserted himself into the canal. Now I’m positive of the way I gave birth and proud of myself and, above all, of my baby. Thank you for your words.
Thank you so much for this! Had a horrible medicated labor with my last child & I felt like all my power was stripped. So glad to have these tips for this bean. 🖤
Most natural birth stories that I’ve heard, people said that their labor was super quick (like 3 hours and under). I’m not expecting that kind of luck, since my mom was in labor with me for 19 hours before finally getting an epidural. So it’s good to hear from someone who pushed through it for so long and still did it unmedicated. Thank you for sharing your story, and congrats on having your baby!!
Mine was 18hrs from start to finish, but it's the Active labor starting at 4cm dilated which was the REALLY intense painful part for a little more than 5 hours. Anything is possible though; just have to work on your mind prior which I totally did not! She's absolutely right though, your body is built for this and is going to deliver that beautiful baby no matter what. You've got this ^_^
If it helps, mine was 3 1/2 days and I was stuck at 4 cm for 2 days. They broke my water the last day and I delivered within 12 hours. I did it unmedicated but by the end of it I was so exhausted. That was my first child and I’m told that’s not uncommon for first time mothers to take longer sometimes.
My first ended up being over 24 hours, but I was able to do it naturally. It was pretty tough, though. My second (3 months ago) was also natural, but my labor was under 4 hours, which was nuts. With my first, I pushed for 2 hours, which felt like forever; with my second, I couldn't keep her in if I tried 😅
I remember not being allowed to do anything but lying on my back in the hospital. I hated it so much - it was only 2 hours but it was hard. The second was a home birth on my knees. Much more comfortable and enjoyable. I just remembered that part of the first birth and am mad again. And I trusted them, since it was my first time.
39 weeks with my third. Having another unmedicated home water birth. No option for epidural or pain meds at home! It’s mostly mental to have an unmedicated birth. And yes, having a supportive partner is everything. My hubbie is a birth coach after 3 months of classes.
How did your second birth go? I am having my second unmedicated home birth this July. It was more intense than I imagined the first go around, definitely makes me more anxious for the second time.
Having an unmedicated home birth in october and really wanting to give myself and my husband some practical tips to prepare. any tips or videos you'd recommend?
@@musikluver we did the Bradley method. I also loved meditations to prepare me for birth. Knowing each contraction moves you closer to baby is important and that you absolutely can do it.
I really loved hearing about your experience! Totally inspiring too. I have low platelets which either means no epidural or c section. A few people have steered me towards c section but I desperately want to avoid that if I can. I have had 2 MMCs in which my body did not recognize the miscarriage and was not able to complete the process naturally (needed surgery.) Therefore, my biggest challenge will be trusting my body. Watching videos like this helps 💕
My labor and delivery was similar. I thought I would be able to text people and bounce on my birth ball even... absolutely not lol. I was in the zone from 2am-11:08am. Im terrified of epidural so it wasn't an option 😅.
@@kinsleythomas3837 You can do it Mama! I just had our little girl naturally, unmedicated and it was one of the best experiences of my life. It was very intense that my body had so much power but it's just that POWER. Don't be afraid of it. I read Ina Mays child birth book and it changed my life, consider reading it. :) Best wishes!
I really enjoyed this video, I am 37 weeks right now and am still debating back and forth whether I want medicated or unmedicated, this helped a lot! ❤️☺️
Having had just delivered at a birthing center and choosing the water birth, I can say I wish I had seen this video before hand! I did not prepare and all of these tips I 100% recommend and will advocate not to take them lightly. Although, labor was 18hrs for me from water breaking to Delivery. Most of it was super easy until the last 5hrs of active labor. Worst pain of my life which I keep calling a level 12. I can handle pain pretty well and have never even remotely gotten close to what I just experienced, but the empowerment that comes is just as incredible and knowing you worked with your baby together to make it happen and feel and experience everything with him or her is everything. I'm sure I will have more babies and I couldn't imagine anything but natural. I loved getting to make my own decisions and feel when to push and bear down and make the primal noises and just be. I did need total silence. The thought of someone touching me through it was painful. My husband was awesome in respecting my space and letting me just be. I really wished I would have taken a class and practiced breathing exercises daily before and practiced the low noises I needed, but it worked out and I found my way and had the most amazing Midwife to get me through it and coach me as it was happening lol I def recommend getting some coaching before though! Nothing like learning on the job though lol I guarantee I will be putting much more prep work into the 2nd baby! Good luck everyone to all your births and happy, healthy babies!
Yeees! It's the most painful but most empowering thing you will ever do. I'm getting ready to welcome baby #4 with what will hopefully be my second unmedicated "natural" birth. Here for motivation and inspiration. 😍 Great tips!
You’re the first person I’ve encountered that had a similar labor experience as me, as far as NO BREAKS BETWEEN CONTRACTIONS. Once labor started for me, my baseline was 8-9 out of 10 level of pain. I could barely tell when contractions were starting or stopping! I’m now pregnant with my second and hoping it goes differently this time lol
Same! Someone told me it's called "back labor," but it wasn't just back pain. It was contraction pains that didn't let up in between. Today's my due date with baby #2! Hopefully I do have relief between contractions this time.
Same here mine didn’t feel like they slowed down with my first either. But my labor stopped at 6-7 centemiters and started again after 2 days again. Then I think it was a 4 hour labor after that. I did have a lot of back pain
@@tinuviel1127 back labor is different. I had back labor which caused constant pain in my back, but I also had contractions on top of that which weren’t as intense. My back labor ended up being worse than contractions, surprisingly. But I guess that’s because I did get breaks between contractions
I’ll be 35 weeks tomorrow and had an Unmedicated birth with my daughter 7.5 years ago that lasted 45 hours. I watched your birth vlog yesterday and it definitely brought back memories! This time around we hired a doula and I hope to utilize more movement, position changes, and aromatherapy for pain management. I just wasn’t ready for it the first time!
I'm not having a baby, but in the future this will be good to know. I have always said I want to try to go without an epidural for as long as I can, so maybe one day this will help❤
Thank you for sharing your tips. I am almost seven months pregnant and I am really rooting for an unmedicated birth. I am having a boy and my husband and I are exited to meet our first child. Your video was very positive and encouraging. I especially found it helpful that you mentioned how much counter pressure benefited you during labor. That will help my husband start working out more before the big day comes!
Watching this made me cry ❤️ I relate so much to how you were feeling before giving birth and I so hope my body allows me to give birth vaginally and Unmedicated. Thank you so much for your encouragement and tips
Your journey has really helped me satisfy my intense curiosity about birth and pregnancy that I've had since Mum was pregnant with my brother when I was a toddler. She had a pretty traumatic experience with me and seeing how much you went through and how powerful you are when you count yours as a good experience makes me love Mum even more. You're amazing
Amen to the point about not getting a break. No one ever told me that and it was crazy. I yelled at my husband, “I’m supposed to get a break!” That was the hardest point of my labor.
I gave birth by my self the first time I wasn’t where I would’ve wanted to be mentally and as my contractions got stronger I got weaker so I ended up getting the epidural and I regret.. the recovery part was honestly the worst , then I gave birth to my second child and decided I would not give in and honestly the recovery part was so easy without the epidural it was instant relief. Now I’m pregnant with my 3rd baby and I’m praying everything goes well without any medication 🙏🏼
Yes my first was unmedicated and the doctors were surprised how quickly I was able to get up and walk around after. I didn’t know any different at the time because it was my only child. It was a traditional hospital so I’m assuming they didn’t get many unmedicated. But hearing that this is an advantage gives me another reason to do it again this next time. That plus an intense fear of a needle in my back.
I'm 33 weeks pregnant today, and while I have decided that if it is possible I want the epidural, I just wanted to say I seriously admire that you had an unmedicated birth! All of these tips are super helpful and I appreciate that you said that no matter what way you bring a child into the world, all moms are superheroes ❤️
I went 10 hours without an epidural, only got to 4 cm, needed rest so took the epidural and my whole labor took 34 hours.. it was ridiculous and the epidural wore off by the end but it allowed me to sleep so that helped. I'm hoping my second goes a bit more like yours
Hoping for a medicated birth but trying to remind myself that preparing for all the possible outcomes is the best way to be prepared (I tend to wing things 😅) so this is helpful 💜
Thank you for making and posting this video. I'm a about to have my second baby and was looking for information just like this with my first. So many gloss over certain parts of labor but if a woman intends to have a natural birth, she needs to be told what it's really like. Thank you again for a positive and informative video!
I didn’t have much of a break either and that’s something that no one warned me about so I appreciate you bringing up that for momma’s to prepare for that possibility
40 weeks and 2 days pregnant with my 1st and this was so sooooo helpful!!!! I have a huge fear of giving birth, but watching your videos have been helping me. I’m not dilated at all, so I’m most likely going to have to be induced which my doctor said could be a 2-3 day process because baby is still high and not engaged in my pelvis, so watching your videos have been giving me a sense of hope that I can do this/give birth. I’m definitely going to use these tips as I’m expecting a very hard and long labor! Thank you 💕
I'm 35 weeks pregnant and starting to get mentally ready for the delivery. Loved your video. Very empowering. The most useful I've seen so far. Thank you
Goodness thank you so much for all your generosity in sharing your journey. My Due date is today and I'm just so scared, but ready as well! It was very nice listening to your thoughts on natural birth. Thank you so much!
I'm 21 years old and I'm now 29 weeks pregnant. I was excited and nervous when i found out, things were a bit complicated at the beginning but I'm so glad that my boyfriend has been so supportive from the beginning.
Good for you girl, I’m 22 and 4 days off my due date (baby’s still hanging on in there)! Wishing you all the best for your incredible journey together xxx
I had several water births, and can tell you from experience if you want to do a water birth you really need a birthing pool so the water can cover your belly completely and you can move around more in the water and can change positions ...a normal bathtub is just too small.
I've had 5 kids. 3 water births. I have a huge garden tub at home thank goodness. I was in and out of the tub multiple times with each kid. Water really helped with the pain.
I'll be 37 weeks on Saturday, which is the mark I need to reach to be allowed to give birth at the birthing center. I've been having bad period cramps for a few weeks now and they've been increasing this week... We're hoping for an October baby because there's still so much to be done and I don't feel ready for labour yet! I have days where I feel scared and days where I feel super excited about having a birth free of medical intervention and bringing our baby into the world with only people who already love it. ♥️ Your labour definitely looked painful but the reward at the end is so big right? 😊
You are so cute and I really appreciate you sharing your birth story with us. I feel like I totally needed to hear this. It will resonated with me. Almost 34 weeks :) Thank you for posting this!
thank you so much for sharing your experience, hearing your journey makes me have ideas what to expect during labor and prepare mentally and physically.
Love the video! I had a horrible experience with an epidural for a surgery unrelated to pregnancy and now that I'm pregnant with my first I am hoping to deliver without one. But it's like you said, if I need one in order to get baby out safely I will not hesitate. ♥️
Brand new subscriber here! You are so sweet and positive and seem to keep it real, which I love and think us momma's need more of. I am 37 weeks and am finding your videos very beneficial while I am waiting impatiently 🤪 for my babies arrival ❤️
I’ve had 2 unmedicated births, one in 2018 and one in 2020. They were both amazing and quick. I used hypnobabies and I recommend it to any pregnant woman, even if you don’t want to go unmedicated, it teaches you a ton!
Thanks Ashley, do you have any material for hypnobirthing? I have just recently heard about it while I only have less than two weeks to go . My first one was unmedicated too, but I am looking for less pain , been looking to RUclips videos on breathing and techniques, but not sure if that's all about hypnobirthing. Can you help me? Thanks 😊
@@eelham100 hi and congrats on your baby! Okay so hypnobirthing and hypnobabies are different, I too stumbled upon hypnobirthing first when I was looking for less pain during childbirth. But hypnobabies is more of a full on course that teaches you self hypnosis , it’s about 10 weeks long so unfortunately I don’t think you can jam it into two weeks. You said you’re looking up breathing techniques and I think that’s actually a really good idea. Here are a few things that really helped me during labor and delivery from the program. 1) belly breathing, when you feel a contraction close your eyes and breathe in and let your belly expand then breath out. ( you can practice by putting your hands near your belly button and when you breath in your hands should pull away from eachother. 2) dont tense your body, keep yourself open, welcome the contractions rather than fight them because each one brings you closer to your baby (and being done with labor 🙃) 3) a cool trick they teach to open your body is open your mouth and relax during contractions. They say if your mouth is open, your cervix mimics it. They also say to picture the contractions being a nice warm hug around your belly and a nice massage for your baby, I pictured that a lot and felt like it really helped. 4) also, they call them “waves” in hypnobabies instead of contractions, I found this helpful and calming because waves always come to shore, they might build for awhile but they’re going to come to shore. Think of your contractions that way. You can also do anything for a minuet when my contractions got intense I just relaxed and thought “I can do anything for a minute” 5) get on that birthing ball and bounce! Not the entire time but when you feel like you can just do it, I got to the hospital at 6cm and bounced on and off for only 40 mins and I was at 10cm ready to push. I know the ball was really helpful I’m moving things along so quickly. 6) when your contractions feel close and intense it means you’re in transition and baby will be out before you know it so welcome that and breathe and know you’ll be holding your baby soon. 7) put in your birth plan for the nurses not to ask you about your pain level, add in that you will bring it up if you feel the need to. I know that was super long but I hope it helps you in some way. It’s actually strange that I woke up to your comment because I just had dream before I woke up that I was telling someone all about hypnobabies 😂 anyway, good luck! You’ll do great!
@@ashleycoiro9565 wooowww thank you so much for your detailed reply 👋👋❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ wow so interesting as I am in bed watching videos and was about to turn off my mobile (11 pm) and saw your reply just few minutes after my comment with these details.. I had an epidural with my last one, and I regret doing it, because I lost the sensation to go pee for several months until I finally went to a chiropractor to realign my spine, and give me back that sensation to go pee again.
The main reason i dont want an epidural is because of the possibility of getting sick from it( i often dont do well from some meds or get anxious) and that it can make your baby quite sleepy for the next few weeks and affect breastfeeding. But i think its absolutely amazing that its available especially in emergency situations like fetal distress or moms high bp
38 weeks 1 day! 3rd baby hoping to do this unmedicated. Husband and I have hired a doula so we both have a great support system. Hoping to have this girl early! Other two were on the tail end of pregnancy.
What helped me a lot was knowing I could have breaks in between contractions but I’m sorry that wasn’t the case for everyone. Most of my pain came from intense back labor and hardly anything relieves that, only counter pressure slightly helps. I used a lot of heat too but at its worst not much helped it. Really hope it’s not like that again this time around. I was glad to be able to walk around and change positions and was adamant about being able to do so because at first they were trying to hook me up to continuous monitoring. Being able to move however my body felt like it was a life saver. There was a ball there but I didn’t find it comfortable at all. What helped also was music in my earphones, no one talking to me so I could zone out, and a lot of weird noises I couldn’t help but make. Oh and it’s a little embarrassing now when I think about it but once I got past 8 cm I became like a feral animal lol I was SO HOT and uncomfortable that I ripped my gown off and was completely nude in front of the doctors, nurses, my mom, doula, and husband. I didn’t care! Nothing mattered at that time because of how intense everything was. But I got through it and I am not traumatized, in the end it’s nothing I can’t handle, just in the moment you don’t realize how much you can really handle. Best part about no meds was being able to walk like nothing happened shortly after. Unfortunately my daughter was taken to NICU due to swallowing meconium which got in her lungs and she was not breathing well. So that part was worrying (unrelated to meds or no meds) so I couldn’t really celebrate until I knew she was ok. But while I waited to be able to see her I was able to start pumping a little and gave it to the NICU. Overall I definitely will be doing it all again with the next one and hoping for a somewhat quicker labor (first one I was laboring 3 1/2 days).
Thank you... this is such solid advice. I will take so much from this for the birth of my baby in April this year. Really helpful. Thank you and hope you're beautiful baby boy is doing well 💙
Had an epidural with my first and plan to try for #2 next year (our last baby) and trying to decide if I want to try unmedicated for my last time... didn’t have a very good experience with my first birth due to the hospital and I felt like I had no idea what to do but hopefully my last will be better ❤️
I am 38wks today and being induced next week I was hoping for a natural unmedicated birth but I don't think that will happen now maybe. I'm gonna go as long as I can without it we shall see .. thank you for your advice...
I watched your birth video and I am just so blown away girl you are so inspiring I really hope to have a similar experience for my second delivery coming in September!! 🙏🏽 thank you for these videos.
@@sarahgrace6096 hey, thanks! Everything went wonderfully! I did end up getting the epidural lol but had a successful VBAC and a healthy baby boy at 8lbs 9oz 😅💙
Have him be on the lookout after the birth too. During the “post-op” there was some extra work to be done for Megan that caused her some pain and discomfort. I was holding the baby and in so much exhaustion and shock, I feel like I neglected to look out for her as much as I should have. Be vigilant, husbands.
You are an absolute queen 👑 I’m a 23 yo 14 weeks pregnant of my second and I watch your videos cuz I feel like we had the same issue, I REALLY wanted a girl because I have a 3 yo boy. Sneekpeak told me boy again but we’ll see at the 20 weeks echo 😊 after watching your video about gender disappointment, it made me fell a lot better! So thank you so much!!
Thank you for this! I love how you talk about feeling empowered even though you had anxiety during pregnancy. I am holding a lot of anxiety and fear as I get closer to the due date. Did you feel anxious at all during birth as you experienced different sensations like crowning?
I was most anxious when it came time to push. For some reason I couldn’t imagine how my body would open up to let the whole baby up, even though I knew it had to happen. I also was scared of tearing. But thankfully it was a smaller baby and no tears and had gentle doctors who didn’t rush my pushing. But yeah the crowning part scared me more than the rest of labor
honestly loving hearing all your advice! i dont have a mother figure in my life and your first hand experience makes it feel so much less scary for the future!
I've had 2 babies with an epidural, but I am so determined to have baby #3 without medication...but it has been 10 years since my youngest was born... I feel so much more prepared this time being in my 30s as apposed to my 20s, but I'm fighting the fear that this will be the one that something happens that will prevent my plan after 2 text book births... But it's something I have no control over so I'm just trying to trust that my body did this before and knows what to do this time. Thanks for sharing... I feel like though I've given birth, going into it intensely wanting to get through it without dulling any of the pain, it's a whole new ball game. This was helpful. I love the tip to not make the decision during a contraction.
@@sherriebaby1609 Yes I was! It went so well! And the recovery was so nice. I could get up and move as soon as I wanted... And I just felt like I bounced back so fast... Also, my water didn't break until the very end... I think that helped . And it's true what they say... When you get to the point you think it's getting to be too much, that's when it's almost over.
@@ashb2404 oh wow good to know. How long was your labor compared to the others? My first two kids I had in my 20’s it was 19 hours each with epidural etc. Now I’m in my 30’s hoping it will be shorter and without meds
@@sherriebaby1609 I'd say all of my labors were comparable lengths... I think my last one is say was a little longer just because I was way more aware of when it began... But the actual active labor with my last was shorter for sure. I went to the hospital at about 11:30pm, I was at 6cm and I delivered at 3:45am... With my first 2, the doctor broke my water "to move things along" it was completely unnecessary, but I didn't know then what I know now.... And having my water intact throughout labor, I believe is what made it so bearable for the majority of it. And this time, they were very careful to not break my water without me saying anything... My midwife told me, in her experience with mamas who go so many years in-between births, that early labor tends to go more like the first time wise, but once you hit active labor your body is very efficient... I hope it goes how you are planning it! I was so glad we decided to have one more at this stage of our lives!
@@sherriebaby1609 what are you due? I feel like a big thing for me was getting it in my head that it can be done... I watched countless videos or unmedicated births... It just helped me get my head around it I think.

I had two amazing natural births. Both came fast and with little to no time to do anything but laugh. I had a great time, my nurses were amazing, did what I asked, I only had one OBGYN deliver my 2nd baby because I had the first one so fast there was no OB on the floor. haha but a great pediatrician delivered her so it worked out. I would do it again and again, pregnancy on the other hand you can miss with that haha
my first came that fast. being reassured that my second may actually come just as fast and not play any tricks on me haha glad your deliveries went so well!

Yay! I’m 35 weeks this video has come at the perfect time as I start to mentally prepare myself.
Aw congratulations! So so exciting!
Seven months pregnant with our first and have no clue what to expect with labor. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
I’m not pregnant and don’t know if I’ll have children, but I loved watching this! So proud of you Megan 🤍
Aw thank you Aleah!
It’s so intense!
I'm also terrified of epidural, I'm 24 weeks 5 days pregnant and I have plans to have an unmedicated natural birth.. Lord willing!
@@kinsleythomas3837did you do it naturally?
Nothing like learning on the job though lol
I guarantee I will be putting much more prep work into the 2nd baby! Good luck everyone to all your births and happy, healthy babies!
You are so right about it being in your head! I got an epidural at 4 cm 😂 I am so impressed with your story! Great job, mama!
I had the same experience!!! So painful without letting up.
You’ve got this mama!!!
This was so helpful! Thank you for making this, you are amazing
I’m so happy to help!
37 weeks here and planning for an unmedicated birth. This was super helpful and reassuring. Thank you!
how did it go?
I'm not having a baby, but in the future this will be good to know. I have always said I want to try to go without an epidural for as long as I can, so maybe one day this will help❤
That’s what I said too! But I was totally prepared to get it if I needed it 😂
As long as you don’t leave it to long and them turning around and saying to late now it’s coming and your in agony

Aw I’m so glad!
I just found out I’m pregnant, I remembered your Zelda shirt in one of the videos and you immediately became my fave
Congratulations!
This advice was amazing, as a ftm who wants to try an unmedicated birth I found this SO helpful.
Absolutely! Moms are ALL incredible 😍
Could not agree more! 😍
I went 10 hours without an epidural, only got to 4 cm, needed rest so took the epidural and my whole labor took 34 hours.. it was ridiculous and the epidural wore off by the end but it allowed me to sleep so that helped. I'm hoping my second goes a bit more like yours
I have already had all my children, But I just love watching you, Much love💜
Hoping for a medicated birth but trying to remind myself that preparing for all the possible outcomes is the best way to be prepared (I tend to wing things 😅) so this is helpful 💜
I definitely winged mine too! I didn't know if I would get the epidural or not haha! So glad you found the video helpful 💛
Thank you 💕
I FEEL for you, mama! Being overdue is so hard. You’ve got this!!!
Honestly the water thing just wasn’t for me! Position changes were just too important. I’m sure everybody is different!
I've had 5 kids. 3 water births. I have a huge garden tub at home thank goodness. I was in and out of the tub multiple times with each kid. Water really helped with the pain.
If I want to labor as long as possible at home and have a spa tub does that help with managing pain?
I'll be 37 weeks on Saturday, which is the mark I need to reach to be allowed to give birth at the birthing center. I've been having bad period cramps for a few weeks now and they've been increasing this week... We're hoping for an October baby because there's still so much to be done and I don't feel ready for labour yet!
I have days where I feel scared and days where I feel super excited about having a birth free of medical intervention and bringing our baby into the world with only people who already love it. ♥️
Your labour definitely looked painful but the reward at the end is so big right? 😊
Absolutely! Every second was so worth it! And I actually look back on that time so fondly now!
I will be induced 8/12 and I am high risk. This I my first baby so I am praying that I can handle an unmedicated birth
You are so cute and I really appreciate you sharing your birth story with us. I feel like I totally needed to hear this. It will resonated with me. Almost 34 weeks :) Thank you for posting this!

I am almost 30 weeks with a baby girl! I find this video extremely helpful and empowering!!❤️ thank you so much.
Love the video! I had a horrible experience with an epidural for a surgery unrelated to pregnancy and now that I'm pregnant with my first I am hoping to deliver without one. But it's like you said, if I need one in order to get baby out safely I will not hesitate. ♥️
That’s an AMAZING attitude! Also I had no idea they did epidurals for other things besides birth!

I'm 7 months pregnant and this video helped so much. I want to have a unmedicated labour too!
Xoxo
2) dont tense your body, keep yourself open, welcome the contractions rather than fight them because each one brings you closer to your baby (and being done with labor 🙃)
3) a cool trick they teach to open your body is open your mouth and relax during contractions.
You can also do anything for a minuet when my contractions got intense I just relaxed and thought “I can do anything for a minute”
5) get on that birthing ball and bounce!

@@eelham100 how was it for you? I'm in the same situation as you right now, 38 weeks pregnant. Could you share your experience? Thanks dear
I had an epidural with my last one, and I regret doing it, because I lost the sensation to go pee for several months until I finally went to a chiropractor to realign my spine, and give me back that sensation to go pee again.
20 weeks! Super excited. Love this video 💕☺️
Wow, I've been researching videos and this was the most helpful!!!! Thank you so much!!!

I'm 32 weeks pregnant. Thank you for these tips! I haven't heard many of them before 🙂
So happy you found them helpful!
I love your videos Megan! They’re so helpful.

Thank you so much!
How did it go? I’m currently going through the same situation like you. We’re you able to deliver naturally?
@@sherriebaby1609
Yes I was!
I had 31 hours labor (no épidural) so 10 hours for the first birth is waaaay to good for me
Thank you for your story!❤

Thank you I'm 35 weeks pregnant this was very helpful! How would you explain an contraction is it like really bad period pains? I'm so worried about the pain :( x
jennsaa I think it’s different for everyone! For me it wasn’t really like period pains, it was more like an intense pressure in my pelvis
Mine was loooong but I agree I’d much rather go through labor and skip the whole pregnancy mess lol
Please make a video on the breathing technique, am 37 and my water is broken I need that video a lot
All I did was take long slow breaths and count them! Good luck with your birth!!!
