Besides being really good I think the reason they bring him back so much is they know they screwed him out of $100k twice. So now they're doing their best at not only paying him for the show but he's also getting a shit ton of air time which equals exposure for his shop. He's a bad ass. I wrote him once about trying to get in his shop to get a tat when I was supposed to go to Las Vegas. My trip never happened but he wrote me back literally within minutes. Could not have been nicer. Hopefully this year the trip won't fall through.
Some people just have shitty teeth. My mom lost all four of her top front teeth from literal neglect. She got a chip and let it rot even tho she had dental insurance. So maybe he's the same way. Funny thing tho, I've never noticed his teeth!
He was a dick on the show. I'm sure a lot of that was staged. I'm thinking maybe 10% of that show was "reality". Honestly I like JCD's stuff, but CRO was the most consistent throughout the whole show. He was a master of styles and techniques. I think JCD did have the better tattoo in the finale, and CRO's did not meet the challenge, but his body of work and track record were far stronger.
I do agree, a lot of that catty bullshit feels staged for ratings or what have you. I wish they would drop all that nonsense and focus more on the work.. later for the drama.

Scott Marshall was the best to do it on the show and he had tougher competition. I love Cleen though.
