Yeah It may be a good idea, for season 1 I just wanted to make sure they watched the original movie, before season 2 we might do the other karate kid movies! Cheers!
Just discovered you guys at ep 6 so now im going back to watch all the others for Cobra Kai. You might be interested in this tidbit - the intro of the ep from the movie, there are 16-17 camera angles used that were cut from the original film and never seen by the public beofee in order ro show more of Johnny's side of the fight. Same for all the multiple angles on the kick to the face. None were used for the film except the one low wide shot. We're seeing the rest for the first time in this episode.

It will greatly enhance the experience to watch Karate Kid 2 & 3. They reference from all 3 movies.
They have until at least season 3. They'll do small references here and there in 1 and 2, but I feel by season 3 both movies should be must watch
