Thanks! I just bought one of these used. I'd never touched a bandsaw before and was dismayed when the blade kept popping off... but after watching this, I got everything adjusted in about five minutes and made my first test cut. Confidence: restored!
I've had the Sears Craftsman version of this saw for six or eight years. I think it's identical to the Rikon. Nice video with a lot of attention to detail, but you didn't mention where you position the blade on the tire with the tracking adjustment.
I saw another review for this unit or possibly the newer version that talks about how inconvenient it is to remove the fence mechanism with the measurements on it. I noticed you didn't include this part in the video. I was wondering how long this process took for removal and reinstall. I've been looking at picking up one of these Rikon Bandsaws. Thank you!!
I dont know how it is to change on the grizzly, but I will say the Rikon has over an inch more in max cutting height. On the grizzly you are limited to 3” 5/8th. I have the Rikon and it can max out right around 5” i believe, even though they state slightly less. The Rikon is pricier but an overall more capable machine
It will most likely never be centered on the bottom. But the top should be able to be centered. If not, the motor angle might be off. We had several Laguna's at our store from the same batch that had to have motor position adjustments to make them track correctly. Make sure you start with a new blade and not the factory blade for starters. If it still doesn't work then you will need to take the deck off and make a jig to see how far-out the wheels are.

I would hope that people know the blade should be as close to center as they can. Thanks for pointing this out though.
@@works4me People that don't know how to change the tire on their band saw may not know...

Then go to minute 3:55 and it takes about 5 seconds to take it off or on.
Excellent explanation! I needed this info and you did a great job. Thanks man👍
should the bottom don't know what to call it so it will tire should the blade also be in the center of the tire?
ok found my answer thanks
Thanks for the video. Do you happen to be a skateboarder? I get bushings and bearings mixed up because they are on a skateboard
I used to skateboard in my youth. I still get them mixed up all the time. 🙂
Trying to decide between this bandsaw and the grizzly g0308Z.
Anybody know which one is easier to change blades on?

I also keep trying to get the blade to stay in the middle of the wheel but it won’t. It will never center on either of the wheels.

Those band wheels look very Un substantial .
