    So many including " professional roofers" don't know how to install a flashing. In fact I only watched to see if you knew and you do, good job

    I’m a property mgr that likes to get his hands dirty. This is Exactly what I needed to see/learn. Finishing up the roof of an exterior bathroom RE roof and needed this for the 2inch vent. Thanks man!🤙

    Great explanation. Only critical is not removing the pitch and sharp edge off pipe. Chance to damage boot amd not seal. Good final product overall. I understand he picked cheap plastic boot again to last only 10 years.

    One video at a time Justin you will make me a roofer yet and don't forget to figure a dumpster in to haul off your trash. I heard there a good company in your area called Greenhead, you should give them a call to setup a dumpster.

    Now I know how to correctly remove the shingles. Thanks... However, it would be better if the two rows of singles (instead of just one row) are kept underneath the rubber boot.

    When I had my roof replaced several years back I supplied my roofers with lead boots to put over my pvc plumbing vents. Never rot tear or split, just a spray of black paint and your good to go until the next roof goes on!

      Lead and copper boots are the best but pretty uncommon now days

    • @picklerix6162
      @picklerix6162 11 месяцев назад +2

      Copper is probably best. Squirrels can develop a taste for lead and will chew holes in the roof jacks.

    That gust of wind just about took your tool apron off the roof . It would be brutal if you had to work on the other side you can hide over the ridge on that repair side .

    How would this job would change if you DID have to go into the ridge? I just followed your video and got halfway and am stumped... The distance from the ridge side of the pipe to the ridge itself is shorter than that same part of the flange/boot! Can I cut the boot or am I just out of my league? Thanks!

    • @Lifes_Apprentice
      @Lifes_Apprentice  Год назад

      You will need to take some ridge shingles off and replace them

    • @lionintu
      @lionintu 6 месяцев назад

      He didn't answer your question. Same scenario here, remove ridge shingles then bend the flap of an aluminum boot over the top and onto the other side of the Ridge. If it's rubber like in this video, you've got no choice but to cut it.

    I got a question. Could you estimate how long would it take 2 guys to tear off one layer of dimensional and put back on

    I’m about to do that and I’m just curious how I would compare to a professional roofer?
