Thanks for the explaining it so easily. My laptop came with an 48w battery which lasts like only 1 or 1.5 hrs, which i didn't consider while purchasing the laptop. Now i'm willing to upgrade my battery to a 90w battery.
How much it last now??

This helps a lot
I was literally upset that purchasing a 48whr varient was a bad choice but after watching this video I have hope that sometime in future if required i can upgrade the battery.
you are a legend sir. i've been searching for this batt upgrade 48 to 90 wh. thanks
More battery life?
This was the video I've been looking for thank you

Thanks for the video! Considering getting this laptop with the smaller battery preinstalled and this is exactly what I was looking for as I intend to upgrade.
How do you like the laptop overall? Any complaints? Also, do you notice a weight difference with the upgraded battery?
Thanks!
With the big battery I love it! Never had an issue playing games on it. The weight isn't too bad - nothing like an ultrabook but no good gaming laptop is.

Does the 90wh batery compatible with asus tuf a15 with a 48wh battery?
Will this work on f15 or A15
@@404Gh0st yes and no. So inside the case there is a small plastic nub on the 45w version. Its literally labeled 45w and it stops the smaller battery slipping side to side. I had to cut that off and the 90w fitted perfect. Its a small nub of plastic came off with nail scissors. That was the only mod, everything else fitted perfect
@@ShivanshSood-uf2vo i have done it on my a15 with 1 small mod to remove a plastic nub. But i dont no of the f15 internals layout is the same so cant advise.
@@nicholaswalker9981 yup it's same, just the processor is different,
So is it working fine now and how much battery life got increased, and do you recommend doing it
One should also check whether to buy the battery with a long or a short cable. A17 may need a battery with a longer cable because 90 wh battery is slimmer than the original 48 wh battery.
Thanks for this video, it helped me a lot because I was thinking the larger 90wh battery would obstruct the 2nd M.2 SSD slot and prevent you from installing it. Now I know you can have BOTH a 90wh battery and TWO M.2 NVMe SSD's.
I have a question though - in the video you said this laptop can support 64GB of RAM. Where did you get that information? Every where I have read says that 32GB is the max.
Thanks man!
Glad you liked it!😃 Yes, I must have read something wrong as all I can see is 32gb too! Sorry about that.

Hi. I have an Asus Tuf A15 FA506N laptop and there were no other versions of the laptop that came with a 90wh battery. Will I still be able to upgrade from the 48wh to the 90wh taking into consideration the voltage difference or will it damage my computer?
I live in india and bought the Asus Tuf f15 model- 506Li. back in 2022. I really want to upgrade the 48whr battery to a 90whr battery but I cannot find one here.
The only snag being the cover that has 4 protrusions just over the part where SSD/longer battery should fit...
Hi thanks for video, i just want to know if I upgrade battery to 90whr, I currently have a SATA ssd plugged in there will it fit on top of battery?
Hi thanks for this video. I have a doubt that 48Wh battery is rated as 11.4V whereas 90Wh is 15.4V. So will it damage the device as there is a good voltage difference?
I've been using it for years now without any issues. The laptop sells as both so the components will be designs to handle it.
Most useful video I've seen so far. Thanks for answering a lingering question I had about the battery. Mine didn't have the silver encasing for the 2.5 SSD, and the website doesn't sell it. Also please recommend which cable is needed for it. I understand that it is likely a 10 Pin one. Thanks
Glad you liked it! I would think you can get spares from Asus. I think the cable would be proprietary and would need to be from Asus too.

Should i get an ASUS TUF A15 or A17? same specs (Ryzen 7 5800, 2x8Gb Ram, RTX 3060 6Gb and so on) The A17 is a bit cheaper. Is there any advantage or disavantage to each one of them? And how do they compare with the Legion 5 (i saw somewhere that some Legion Ram is not very good)? Thanks in advance!

will this battery work for an Asus Tuf F17 Fx706 laptop?
Thanks. I have two questions.
1. how to know a battery whether is compatible with a laptop? check whether the same voltage ? Is higher than 1-3 voltage compatible? I recently am planing to upgrade a battery of my MSI GL 66 3070. I want to grade it from '53wh 4 cells' to '99Wh 6 cells lion' battery.I don't know the battery that i am planing to upgrade whether is compatible.
2.Upgrading the adapter from 180w to 230w, will it work properly?
Hey, as long as the battery is compatible with the laptop then changing the battery won't make a difference. Also if you get a charger which is capable of more power output, the laptop won't use it as it will only pull as much as it is designed to.
Hello, thanks for this helpful video! I am using the same notebook, always 17 inch, but it came with Intel i7. Do you know if it is also compatible with the 90Wh battery without any problem?
Hey glad you liked it! I couldn't say 100% but most likely it can. Can you pull off the bottom cover and see if it looks similar?
@@NeilWiddowson Internally the computer is identical to yours that you show in the video. The only doubt I had concerns the different voltage between the battery from 48W to 11.4V and the one from 90W to 15.4V. So at this point my only doubt is: will this upgrade also be compatible with intel?

Sorry I meant to reply to this. I would recommend using the crucial memory scanner as it will check your computer to find comparable memory.
Hi i'm also considering to replace my 48wh battery on my asus tuf a15 but i'm kind of curious since the 48wh battery has 11.4V and the 90wh version has 15.4V, is it still safe to replace the battery ? Thanks for the video this is what i've been looking for.
It worked fine for mine. Boards are usually designed to take a voltage range, so usually not an issue. If the battery is diesnged for your model it should be fine.
What benefits does upgrading the battery have other than allowing more time off the charger? Never use mine unplugged so I’m wondering if it’s worth spending an extra 30 as opposed to buying another 48.
It just gives you a longer battery life, well worth the extra in my opinion, especially given how hungry gaming laptops are.
Can I do the same with Asus tuf a15 fx506ih?
After upgrading the battery, do you need to upgrade de charger as well?
No you don't need a new charger.
Hi Neil, when you ordered, did you specify type 2 or type 1 and how? I know its a dumb question but I'm ordering from a country where we dont normally do so and I want all the guidance I need. The cost is not joke where I am from. Thanks for replying :)
Hi, I believe that it refers to the connection that is on your current battery. Check that first and match it up to the image on the website. Hope that helps 🙂
Thanks @@NeilWiddowson I can't break the unit open just yet. I was hoping to purchase the battery and then get a service center tech to install it in a (feeble) attempt to stay true to the warranty. Some reddit guys apparently were able to keep their warranty intact that way

We did /batteryreport, and it actually shows the installed 90wh battery, and even the same information shows up as seen in the video.
My question would be regarding our situation, like what to do now? I'd appreciate some help!
Thanks, Pete
Hey I would make sure that the connection is in tight, maybe pull it out and put it in again. If that doesn't work, and you can't get any power out at all when holding the button for a couple of seconds, there could be something wrong with it and you could contact the seller.
Neil, thanks for the reply!
We contacted the webpage which your video suggested, after of course going through and intensive googling hour or basically afternoon.
We used the same page, asked what could be the issue, to which they replied with our model's original size of battery (48wh) and disclosed no further information if our series of laptop would be even able to get an extension as such.
Most likely they are trying to keep their hands cleaned, but at the end of the day, we have no functioning battery and have to most likely pay shipping price the second time...
About the suggestions you gave, we thank you, however if the connection would be the issue, then how does the battery report show the installed battery, with exact dates? Now that is another question for you, and for this ASUS reseller company.
Thousands of thanks for actuallly getting back to us on this.
On a side note, can you guys who did successfully upgrade your batteries share their type of laptop with us?
I would like to do the same on my Zephyrus M GM501GS. Is there anything in particular I need to look out for?

Make sure the battery is designed for that model and made by Asus and I would expect it to work fine. Mines been working fine.
@@NeilWiddowson Thanks. I'm a bit worried if it has any problem because Asus said it will void the warranty if i change the 48Wh battery to 90Wh lol
@@NeilWiddowson Anyway, thanks for your experiment
I would keep the old battery and change it back before you return to them should you ever need to. That way they wouldn't know. I've done that with several things before!
can you please inform if this will work for Asus Tuf A15 too?
I haven't tried it myself but I don't see why not if they do 2 versions of it
@@NeilWiddowson Makes sense , thanks for the reply , where did you arrange to get a original battery tho , i cant seem to find it from any reliable source or website.

Please anyone reply can I add 2tb SSD in another slot does this laptop support 2tb ssd in one slot
I haven't tried 2tb myself but it should work. I'd be very surprised if it didn't support 2tb.
I have added a 2tb second nvme and it works fine. I wonder if 4tb one would work?
Can I upgrade to 90 watt hour battery on my Asus Tuf fx505dt??
Hey, I'd they do a 90wh battery version then I would say so yes!
I have the same laptop model and the internal looks like it is gonna fit but there is no 90wh version for the laptop model. Let me know if you try it or anything
What thing is the SSD? M.2 what?
SSD is a solid state drive. They use flash memory and are much faster than a traditional hard drive. M.2 is a slot used to connect them, NVMe is a protocol which is much faster than SATA, which can be used with the m.2 port in many computers. You should always get an SSD these days, and m.2 NVMe is the best way to go.

I almost never write comments, but your video is awesome, very informative! Great job, you helped me a lot, I didn't even know about that I could replace my 48wh battery with a 90wh one. I'm going to also upgrade my ram up to 64gb with a patriot signature line kit. However, I'm not sure is there a second M2 slot in my model with GTX1650Ti as I wanted to expand my capacity as well.
I heard about that you can also use your additional M2 slot for Wi-Fi adapter like Intel AX210, it provides wifi 6 and is much more stable than a default Realtek adapter.
Glad you found it useful! You may be able to use the m.2 for WiFi, but you'll need to ensure you put the antenna in a good place. You should also be able to just replace the existing WiFi chip. if you open it up you'll be able to see which slots you have.
no you can't on 1650ti models
@@TheSachin990 yeah, sounds sad 😔
@Marc exactly, I also couldn't figure out why cpu was slowing down on the battery. However, I think it's made on purpose to avoid overload on the battery. High cpu load may damage it.
Вы очень помогли этим видео! Я как раз планировал увеличть ёмкость батареи... Спасибо!!!
Can anybody suggest whether the battery of Asus vivobook lineup which comes with 70whr can be upgraded to 96 Whr of Zenbook series ?
I wouldn't imagine so as they are different models and the batteries are likely to be different physical sizes.
@@NeilWiddowson Thanks.
will it fit to tuf fx505d
I'm not sure as it's a 15" instead of 17". I would check if there is a 90wh version of your laptop and find the battery for it that way.
hello
is it compatible with my asus tuf a15 ryzen 5?
No sorry i don't think it would fit in.
I had the same question a few days ago, so I did my own research.
and, I found 2 models of the Asus A15, one with a 48w battery and the other with a 90w battery.
what caught my attention is that they both had the same motherboard but the batteries were different.
In both, the motherboard model was the FA506IU (this is also the model of my laptop)
So, if your laptop has the FA506IU motherboard you should be able to change the battery without any problem. If you wonder about the charger, in both models the input was 20v = 9A, 180watts, so the charger should not be a problem
However, I am not an expert, so take my words with a grain of salt
I almost forget it, the model of the 90w battery is the same as in this video, the 90wh battery C41N1906-1
@@dramallama8948 did you try changing the battery?
where to buy official battery?

@@NeilWiddowson do you know any website to buy it in india?
@@MW-pi8ql No sorry, I'm from the UK. You can probably get it imported?
I’m curious. I wanted to change my battery on the tuf 17 that came with 45w battery. Definitely not the best performance running on battery.
If I changed to 90w, have you noticed a better performance while running on battery? I’ve already upgraded my ram and ssd btw
Not unless you were on a low battery. You can change the performance setting on Asus and windows though as they limit CPU etc.
How can I get it in india for Tuf A15 FA506IH
Please Reply I cannot find
No idea sorry! I'm not sure if it's still being made.
not for IH models
