Sadly, the reason some of you have heard "this song" elsewhere is because a large chunk of the main melody (instrumentation and all) was lifted DIRECTLY from a freeware public-domain music program. I learned this myself when I heard this song in a commercial, and was like, NO WAY! So I did a bit of research, and learned that it's not as original a song as I'd previously thought. Still an awesome track, but it's rather disappointing that it, itself, is a remix...
That's not too uncommon tbh, especially in japan, major releases like Persona 3 use a lot of public-domain sample music that are mixed in a lot of the tracks, and other tracks from different games may use the same samples but mixed differently. It's a cost-efficient practice because not every game or composers has the budget or ressources to use the instruments they'd like, so they do the best with what they can.
Check out this DDR like game called Cytus, the song darkness actually samples this beat!!!! I almost cried!! It is but a brief sample but still I'm so happy to see an old fave/classic being used in modern music

Easy trick to beating Epros was the black cat jewel and spamming the hell outta bottles! Still made for one long fight though.
