My uncle randomly got this for me when I was a kid as one of those "I know nothing about anime, but I know you like it so here's an anime thing" kind of gifts. Never got all the way through it, but I attempted enough that the nostalgia hit from this song is POTENT.

You can hear this in-game by going into the circus tent. It's an optional, out of the way area, and may be permanently missable, so that's why people miss it, but that's where it plays.

Ill never forget playing this game with my sister while our mom was pulling up to the house with grocieries while we were supposed to be grounded. I'll tell you, no other soundtrack could've amplified our anxiety as we struggled to finish the battle before she entered the house. XD

So simple, yet so wonderful. Love these NES soundtracks. Batman NES and Ninja Garden II are my favorite.
