Hello Mr. Quak. Not to be any sort of backseat gamer, but if the player has the running icon next to their special ability (pressing 1 iirc), then you can A+B to automatically win the running double play.
Imagine all the extra runs he would score if he didnt give up so many runs on the bases. You only get 24 (or 27) outs per game, and at least 1/6 of them are always from poor base running choices. Like, going for an extra base with nobody or one out when you are scoring 7-8 runs per inning is nowhere near worth the risk of a close play, for instance. On average, assuming he averages 7.5 runs per inning, that means that each out is worth 2.5 runs. In this game, there were 4 baserunning gaffes. So, just from poor baserunning, we can estimate a loss of about 10 runs. That is pretty significant. The only extra base that _might_ be worth it is to get a runner to second base to avoid a double play if the next batter were to ground out. Nothing else is really that important as to warrant unnecessary risks.
