Temple of Heaven, Beijing China

It is one of Beijing's most iconic symbols. Wooden pieces are riveted together to form the temple. There is not a single nail holding the whole structure together... There is a vibrancy and sacredness to the colors. The place is busy as tourists flock from all over China and around the world to see this once-in-a-lifetime edifice... This place was visited by me in August 2006. The Temple of Heaven is a complex of religious buildings located in the southeast of central Beijing. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Emperors visited the complex to pray to Heaven for a fruitful harvest.
