Did you find out the cause of the fire? I just picked one up that had the same issue. Gotta replace the PTO harness,belt,throttle cable and the ignition. All the wires on PTO harness were fried.didnt know if you by chance figured out the cause . I tested the clutch and it still works. Reads good on multimeter too. I may replace the PTO switch too as it was acting funny during testing.
