Hi, can we have a budget to mid tier TV review, which one is better for the price would be excellent. I'm not sure what band should be review but you always select good product
I frankly think a lack of local dimming should be a hard-and-fast deal breaker at virtually every price point moving forward. Even at under $500 USD, you should be looking for full-array local dimming. Better to get a used set with local dimming or wait until you find a black friday or open box set with local dimming. I think buying this TV at anything approaching MSRP is an objectively poor decision.
We’ve been using a TCL Series 4 Roku TV for the last 2 years as our family room daily driver and I share the same feelings about Roku’s interface being the easiest to use and live with. I really think TCL would be the direct competition for Heisense for Roku TVs.
One thing I look at personally is the quality of the off-air tuner, as its a great cord cutting option in my area. I am very interested in the Sony x900h, especially the 75 and 85 inch models. I’ll probably be looking more closely once the ATSC 3.0 compatible models are most commonplace. Off-air reception may not be a big deal to most but I find that almost every TV I’ve tried in the past year can produce great quality if you learn to use the interface.
I’ve had a 55’ hisense as my main TV in my apartment for the last few years. And it’s a fantastic TV for the price! After moving to a house at the beginning of the year, I picked up another Hisense (H8F 65’) for our main room. My wife and I love these TV’s! We’re definitely more music driven people and for just casual TV/Netflix watching, this is all we need! Happy Birthday! 🎂
I love what Hisense has been doing lately. Them and TCL are really give us the true bang for the buck TVs. If anyone is wanting to purchase a new TV and want something higher end it's also worth waiting for the late 2020 models to come out so you can get last years model at deep discounts.
They have been on a roll for sure. TVs like the R6 are a perfect option for an in-between TV while they wait for 8K to be standardized and for prices to come down ;). Thanks for watching!
My wife purchased the 75", and I couldn't be happier. It does what it needs to do. I have my Nvidia Shield hooked up, and it does an amazing job up scaling.

Just got the 65" version. Love the TV. I am the exact person you describe in the video, plug it in, make a few adjustments, and watch it. Thanks for the accurate review. It made my choice fairly simple.
I used to be a spec hound. I used to pay more attention to what a TV could do, than actually watching it! About this time last year, I got the 55" 6040 model. Just as you said, this is a TV you need not fuss with. It's simplicity is its beauty. Finding the best picture for whatever Content is easy. I was upgrading my livingroom from an old, yet stunning Panasonic Plasma. A decade apart, the Hisense womps it. I liked it so much, I bought a 32inch 720p model for my bedroom. That one 8 have to be careful of red levels from flesh tones. It gets all red, and staticy in some areas of the face. I could tune around it. I've tried all the streaming boxes. Roku is my favorite of them all. There was no downside buying Hisense. I don't often plug my own items out of fear another would spend cash to hate it. Plus I'm, not often this impressed. Happy Birthday. Even when I had CRT, I've keep brightness down. I think TV's look more natural, and less bled out.
Really enjoyed your review. I just bought the 50 inch r6 for mine and the wife's bedroom. We enjoyed it so much and was amazed by the quality, we bought a second one for our livingroom. This review definitely helped us out. We chose the Hisense R6 50 inch over the TCL 4-series 55 inch and haven't regretted it. Thanks for the review. Great videos.

Happy belated birthday. I just purchased the R6 Costco version and can wait to inbox it. The Costco version refresh rate advertises 120hz but I don’t see much of a difference otherwise. Ill let ya know later if you’d like. UPDATE: The costco tag said 120hz, but the TVs HDMI plugs and literature all say 60hz. I feel that was pretty deceptive. BUT... the tv is mounted in the top corner of the garage and mostly going to be used for a workout tv or hanging out to watch a game. I installed all the typical apps like Disney plus, Netflix, Amazon, Spectrum app, and also Beachbody workout. Watched Avengers Endgame and the clarity on the basic setting was fantastic. I did purchase Endgame in 4K on Vudu so, I will say that it was spectacular. I hooked up my tv to a Yamaha receiver to some tower and shelve speakers and sounds great. Everything was smooth setting it up.
Yeah Hisense like to advertise, some boxes say HDR 10+, Dolby Vision, just showing what other versions of their TV's offer. Which I don't think should be aloud. It is deceiving to say the least.
Thank you for your review. My wife and I bought a Hisense R6 58" because of everything you said and took the picture tweaks on as well. Your voice sounds soothing/professional as well. We appreciate it and thanks again.

A few niggles... it seems to listen, and at time reacts like I gave it a verbal command . Occasionally will need restarting and goes back to Home vs my preferred Xfinity HDMI setting. Overall love the H9. Good channel!
Hisense must be one of the very best budget TV manufacturers IMO. Very underrated, I own a 50" 4K Hisense and the picture quality is excellent much better than the other two 4K TV's I have in the house( Philips, Toshiba)
@@TheChrisleekay Yeah I took back a Sony because the panel was going bad out of the box, 4K looked great, HDR was crap, games looked good (somewhat), regular content had a haze over it, to much judder, way to many freaking options to choose from, and Google Play TV sucks!! So I'm getting the 55 of one of these because of Roku and it's simplicity, don't care if Sony IS more reliable. Didn't work for me lol
A couple of months ago I bought a Philips Ambilight 65" 4k TV. The kids loved the ambilight idea so I picked it. What I've since discovered about buying a cheap 4K LED TV: Build quality is not great, light leak is an issue and the OS is slow. I mean it's bad. To me the picture quality is great though and I have a 5.1 SS so I use that, although the TV speakers are surprisingly good. I had hoped to buy a Hisense.
Hi Andrew, Happy Belated! That was nice of you to take your special day to share info with folks - Thank You! Also, I appreciate you sharing all you did on the R6. I had bought my 3rd vizio, only to have it screw up again after having to put in a mother board months ago. So, Square Trade/Warranty gave me a (small) list to pick from as a replacement TV. The only 50" I saw on their list was the R6090G so I ordered it today and decided to look up videos on it which (again), I appreciate your info on and have noted the changes you mention to help tweek it best I can. Don't know if you've ever had this problem but... something I'm concerned about is... A while back, I bought a 2 spkr (& Sub) Bose system to improve the lousy standard spkrs that normally come in thin TVs and, even though I love the sub for effects; the 2 spkrs sound like they've been eq'd flat, so there's no highs or clarity in the voice, so... I mixed in a little bit of the TV's spkrs for that, till I finally went and bought a sound bar which is better yet so, I used the sound bar via my Audio Out, and my Bose via optical out. The problem on various TVs is that, when using more than one output source for sound, one or the other ends up getting an aggravating delay. So, I'm just a bit concerned about that happening when the R6 arrives and, was just wondering if you'd ever tried running 2 ext sound sources? I don't know why one output would be delayed behind the other, but it's a pain if you have 2 sound sources. If I had known the BOSE had muddy highs; I'd have bought just one good system! I was however, lucky enough to find a setting that worked in the Vizio. Just don't know if the R6 will have not only, the optical AND an analog or digital out, but, if their sound will sinc up, as well as, a way to correct that if not! Sorry So Long! (And I hope you enjoyed your birthday!) P.S. Cool Dog! Listens To No No No Real Well LOL! :)
Great review. I just picked up the 50" version for my bedroom for $240 at Costco. Is this TV perfect? Of course not. But for $240, it's pretty darn good.
I was looking for something super inexpensive to replace an older TV I had in a spare bedroom and came across your review. I love that you were playing 6 Underground during the review, that alone would've gotten a llke from me, fantastic movie! You shared some really helpful tips that I'll be back to re-review once the R6 I just ordered arrives. The outtakes were great as well, and I loved loved LOVED the special appearance by your beautiful pup, that got me to subscribe...I'm hoping to see more hosing of your shots ;) Thanks again for a great review!
Fun video, thanks for covering some of the more affordable options out there. I am waiting for the new Vizio's before I make up my mind for sure. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! also what type of flooring is that? Enjoy that sushi
I got this TV last Pre-Black Friday for $198 and love it. My only real complaint is some strange strange occurrences with HDMI-ARC, this is my first ARC capable TV, and it seems this is just par for the course with ARC. Black levels are blah, built in audio is passable, but watching actual 4K is 100% pleasant for a first 4K TV buyer and built in Roku is an absolute steal.
That's a great price! I didn't run into any ARC issues. What are you experiencing? Actual 4K content through this TV is excellent for the money! Thanks for watching!
@@MyChewbacca that’s where I got mine. No tips really since I just got it today. I just watched this video and followed along to change a few settings. Good luck on your purchase!
They, I meant all TV come down to the point of the reliability of the TV. LG OLED' Samsung QLED SONY etc... etc...when you take it home THEY all look the SAME to the tv's owners. It's nice to have money to buy the most expensive TV on the market but if you don't then this TV will make you more than happy to have it . Listen to the guy, the reviewer, With some twitches, this TV will make you more than satisfied with it. To me its all come down to the reliability of this TV and I hope it will last. If your LG OLED tivi the grass in the picture look greener than that of mine on this Hisense So WHAT ?
@@usahoangsatruongsayea definetely, hisense is a pretty deccent brand also,I bought one 4 years ago and it's still going strong,I also bought a samsung 2 years ago and it stopped working all of a sudden.
I have one of these. I love it. Looks great. I game, and it delivers an awesome picture. It does not have hdmi 2.1. Not many TV's do right now. I used to love toiling over advanced settings. I've settled down, and I don't want something tedious. This is plug, and play. I just got a firmware upgrade. It improves red levels better. The picture pops, for the $250 spent. Not much dirty screen effect. No local dimming, but I watch mostly at night. I don't think I would get twice the picture out of twice the amount of money, so I'm just not going to spend the money. For overall family use, you should be perfect. If you are a speck Hound, get something more expensive. I liked the TV so much, I bought a 720p 32 inch for the bedroom. Hisense is a leading brand South of the Equator. They're starting to dominate above it too.
Good review. I just bought one for $260 and I’m using it as a temporary tv waiting for the 2021 TVs to hit the street. I feel confident after viewing this review that I made a wise purchase.
Happy Birthday Andrew!! This review is excellent and I’m super happy to say that i’m a owner of this TV and extremely happy with it! Thanks much for the review!
@@johan01030709 Yes. It's a decent set. Got it for my Bedroom. HDR and Dolby Vision Netflix/Prime looks really good. Gave it some tweaks in adjustment out the box to bring a little more out of picture. I believe HDR can get close to 1000 nits It is not TCL 6 series good but its pretty good for a 50 inch TV that cheap.
I have a Sony Bravia from 2021, the color and clarity are astounding. That being said it has horrible lag/jerkiness and now the HDMI ports are starting to slowly but surely go bad. So after not even 2 years uggh. I had the Hisense first and it supports Dolby Vision which looks natural and great (should have stuck with it). The Sony can be overly colorful, like unnatural paint by numbers looking. So I'm buying the 50 inch Hisense at Walmart for like $248 (the Sony is a bit large at 65 inches) so when it finally goes bad completely, I'll have a good backup TV. At least I know this TV has better motion for gaming and a more natural picture. So don't think just because it's a top tier brand it's better than this. You'd be mistaken.
I bought this TV for my bedroom. I got blackout curtains in my bedroom for watching Netflix, Netflix, and light gaming this TV does fantastic. Would I buy it for my living room as a centerpiece? No I would buy something a little bit more expensive but if you’re looking for a TV, that’s not gonna be your centerpiece or you’re just on a budget its great I paid $251$ after tax at Walmart
Happy Birthday! Hope you, while blowing the cake's candles, wished to get to 100K subscribers, and more in the near future, which would be well deserved. A great review, as usual, and even better, a simple and efficient tutorial, that I particularly like (ref. How to setup any sub...). Thank you for making it easy and yet very detailed.
Hey Andrew I know the r6 Is limited on pic settings but I just found that on roku app on your phone you can go it to expert tv settings and change gamma and color settings is there a better pic settings doing it that way
You are so right! I just purchased the 65" two days ago, (and discovered your vidio today), the movie mode and the warm temperature combo settings create the most beautiful picture! Thank you for letting us know. This vid was so helpful. Walmart only had two left. My price was only $408. Now, how do you search the web on it, and will I run into case' issues?
@Andrew. I've never subscribed to a review channel and you earned my first. Thanks for providing the precise information. Would like to point that the 2019 R6 series I believe was EDGE lit and the 2020 series (some models) seems to have a Full-Array. Do you think its a substantial improvement?
Appreciate the sub, Shine! I didn't see the 2019 model so I can't say what improvements there are between it and the model reviewed here. I would opt for the bit.ly/BestBudgetTV over the R6 as I think it's the better overall tv and value and depending on the size, you'll pay close to the same as the R6. We also just reviewed the new H9G if you want to give it a watch - ruclips.net/video/V9NYyZ_Np7I/видео.html
@@andrewrobinsonreviews Thank you so much. FYI, Just ordered a ONN 65" for $228 (BF Deal) which went online today from Walmart and I strongly suspect its the Hisense R6090G under the ONN brand. I cross checked the specs and everything matches line by line except for the AUDIO L/R in for the composite video. Fingers Crossed!
Do you think this TV is fast enough to play on Call of Duty warzone 3? It looks like a nice TV, But I'm hoping it can perform good while playing some of my intense games, while ballin on a budget

Just wanted to say keep up the good work and we love you're energy!!! It is so fun to see you two enjoying making this channel together.
It's a nice video from a technical standpoint. However, I wish you would have covered things like the menus and how many HDMI inputs and other inputs that the television has. I am considering purchasing one of the 50-inch R6 g units. I am legally blind and I am especially interested in trying to find out whether it has an accessibility section in its menus that offers a screen reader. That's kind of a must for me. If anyone out there knows the answer to this question please reply.
@@kingyart I appreciate you messaging me. However, I actually purchased this model of television a few days after I posted this. Lol. I love the television and I couldn't be happier with it. Especially, since I was able to purchase it for $300. You can't beat that deal.
I'm in the market of buying a new 4k TV but holy crap there is so much to learn about of which brand which models deliver balance. Going from 4k UHD to Quhd to Qled. What all great marketing tools to confuse you totally. Buying online because over sells pitches that they want you to buy. But even online marketing is some what confusing but I'm steering towards TCL price and quality, but some ads say quhd 65" 4k?? but go into specs nowhere does it states it's a quhd. So now I'm looking at qled at a higher price. But truly is qled the greatest over 4k HDR?? Crap all to bloody hard
Set it to normal, use a FS4k or something which always outputs Dolby Vision, and set the HDR\DV profile to bright to compensate for some that loss in brightness. Looks real nice.
Yeah i dig the bright popping colors, looks excellent, I saw a Hisense years ago that looked incredible, they've came a long way since then. Also TLOU 2 looked better on this than most TV's that cost a lot more.
Your review is exactly how I felt about this tv to a tea! It’s a great TV for what it is but I was a little disappointed with the lack of some features but I’m a bit of a technology in general. I couldn’t really feel the smooth frame rate it felt like 30fsp and not a 60 but for the size and the price it is nice, I would of been happy keeping it but I had to send it back because honestly I was a little too picky but it’s a good TV I would say.

My mom just bought the hisense 75r6e3. The 75” R6 tv. Is it any good? Seems like lots of good and bad reviews
Great review. I just picked up the 50" version for my bedroom for $240 at Costco. Is this TV perfect? Of course not. But for $240, it's pretty darn good.
Can you get Apple Music on the native roku?
@@elijahdordal2997 From what I've read, some people get Apple Music to work using Airplay. But there is no dedicated Apple Music app.
Just got it at walmart for 228. Its perfect for my series s. Upascaled 4k and hdr10.. .LETS GOOOO
@@elijahdordal2997 apple tv i know but dk bout apple music as im an android enthusiast
Happy Birthday Andrew! Nice review, definitely appreciate the review and consideration re. Comparisons etc.
Thank you so much and thank you for watching!
Fun video, thanks for covering some of the more affordable options out there. I am waiting for the new Vizio's before I make up my mind for sure. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! also what type of flooring is that? Enjoy that sushi
Awesome review! Very helpful, informative, and honest.
The Doggo, is never bad for the shot. Happy B-Day, I hope you had your Sunday off.
Happy Birthday Andrew. The TV looks good with the Naim sound bar and your little plant 🌿
Thank you! 😃
I love how your reviews are so oriented on the day to day user experience.
Good job my man
I appreciate that! Thank you so much for watching.
@@andrewrobinsonreviews happy birthday by the way
Happy birthday/herzliche glückwunsch zum geburtstag/Feliz Cumpleaños!
Thank you so much!
I just bought this tv today and found your video! For 58" screen for under $300.00 its totally worth it.
I'm seriously considering buying this set at Wal-Mart this weekend -- are you satisfied so far and do you have any hints?
@@MyChewbacca that’s where I got mine. No tips really since I just got it today. I just watched this video and followed along to change a few settings. Good luck on your purchase!
@@funwithfriends634 Thanks - good luck with yours!
I wish we could also buy it that cheap😭😭😭 its $700 here😭😭😭
Picked up the 58 cheap at Walmart for my bedroom. I'm sure it will be just fine. Thanks for the honest review.
My main TV is a Sony XBR-49X900E. I got it in late 2017 it was just under $1,000. I really enjoy it.
Good review. I just bought one for $260 and I’m using it as a temporary tv waiting for the 2021 TVs to hit the street. I feel confident after viewing this review that I made a wise purchase.
Very good review. Thank you for sharing. What TV would you recommend for outdoors on the back patio?
Happy Birthday Andrew!! This review is excellent and I’m super happy to say that i’m a owner of this TV and extremely happy with it! Thanks much for the review!
That's awesome, Joseph. Always nice to hear other people's experiences. Thanks for hanging out with us today!
Your review sold me on this tv. Update just bought a 50 inch for 295.00
That’s why I’m here!! How do you like it ?
@@johan01030709 Yes. It's a decent set. Got it for my Bedroom. HDR and Dolby Vision Netflix/Prime looks really good. Gave it some tweaks in adjustment out the box to bring a little more out of picture. I believe HDR can get close to 1000 nits It is not TCL 6 series good but its pretty good for a 50 inch TV that cheap.
Can you share the brightness and contrast numbers you measured from this TV? Would be super helpful for your viewers :)
Love your reviews, gor this yesterday for $268!!
Really? Where?
@@BradTheBarber1- Currently $338 at Walmart.
You are ALWAYS delivering the goods, Andrew!
Appreciate it! Kristi and I do our best. Be well!
@@andrewrobinsonreviews I still miss when you darlings used to take us shopping!!!!! So good.
An amazing, professional presentation of information for us. Thank you it helped tremendously.
Happy birthday Andrew! Thank you for your present to us! :-D Hope you have a great day sir.
Thank you!
Thank you so much 😀
Happy birthday Andrew! All the best.
Love your work.

Thank you! Portugal is high on Kristi's list of places to visit. Appreciate you watching.
Hi, I want to know is this TV compatible with apple airplay (screen mirroring)?
It does have screen mirroring.
Very helpful video Andrew, thx, hope u had a wonderful birthday!
Aww, you hurt Kadie's feelings by not letting in the shot! 🐺😄 Happy Birthday, Andrew! Enjoy your day off!
Thanks, and I promise, Kadie got spoiled afterwards.
@Andrew Robinson. Just curious, Would you be able to let us knoe the highest Nits you measured for the 6090G?
Belated happy birthday. The TCL line of 4k sets are worth taking a look at.
this would make me feel so fancy...at a fraction of the cost.
🥳 also - happy birthday, my friend!
Thank you so much Donna! It's hard not to feel fancy with a big screen on your wall ;). Be well! Waiting for your next new video to drop!
Do you think this TV is fast enough to play on Call of Duty warzone 3? It looks like a nice TV, But I'm hoping it can perform good while playing some of my intense games, while ballin on a budget
Happy birthday, Andrew, and many more! :)
Happy Birthday ! Really like that your adding the "bloopers".
Glad you like them!

Happy Birthday. Heard Good reports of Hisense TVs. Very Good value. Thanks
Loved this video. Just loved it :) Hey Andrew and Wife. My name is Chris and I am currently living in Italy so the time difference will be way off. My wife and I love your channel. Just wanted to say keep up the good work and we love you're energy!!! It is so fun to see you two enjoying making this channel together.
Thank you!!!
It has 3 hdmi inputs. It also has talk text mode as well. Sorry you posted this comment 4 months ago I hope this is somehow helpful still.
I'm looking for a TV to put in my garage. Would this be a decent choice?
How would we know that?
Set it to normal, use a FS4k or something which always outputs Dolby Vision, and set the HDR\DV profile to bright to compensate for some that loss in brightness. Looks real nice.
I like the pops of orange you guys have going now. Looks like a new naim product on the console to? Nice review keep it up
I really hope there will be a Naim review coming up soon 😊
Yeah i dig the bright popping colors, looks excellent, I saw a Hisense years ago that looked incredible, they've came a long way since then. Also TLOU 2 looked better on this than most TV's that cost a lot more.
I have the 58R6E3 model and tried your recommended settings exactly and it does look good thanks for the information
Love my 2 year old Highsense ,.best value natural picture.Highend ones seem overprocessed to me.
I bought this TV last year, based on this review.
Happy birthday! Nice review too.

I heard really good things about the Hisense Tv. Thank you for another great video guys . Happy blessed Birthday 🎂 🎈🔊. I hope you have a great day .
Thank you so much 🤗
Andrew Robinson You welcome my Brother🙋🏻♂️🔊.
This is awesome. Wal-Mart has the 75 inch down to $598 right now. Contemplating the purchase. We have two 50' Hisense we love.
I just Buy a 58" and i really love it
Same here ugh it’s a good deal
I think that's the r6e1 for that price ...i dont know if display is different
I love the picture on your wall. So nice! Great video.
Hi Andrew.
What height is your TV placed at? I'm putting up my tv on the wall and stuck on height. My cabinet unit is 29 inches high.
Thanks
If you close your eyes and listen to his voice and Will Wheaton's....there is no difference.
I would like to see reviewed the Hisense H9G and hear your opinion about calibration settinge. Also if possible, compare it against the H8G. Thanks.
We're told the H9G is in route to our house, but it has not arrived yet.
