It's something kids (or anyone) should never have to experience. WTH is wrong with people? I just can't understand.
Exact same thing Ben & Lincoln Markel (Yes, Markel, not Adelson, iykyk) are going through, in addition to wondering about their grandpa's involvement, forced estrangement from their paternal grandparents who desperately want to be a part of their lives, and most of all...by now, they are surely old enough to be aware ,whether through their own research or being told by friends or classmates that the woman who raised them is , as of now , an unindicted co- conspirator. She is the only family they have left, and know since poor Ruth & Phil Markel have been robbed of their grandchildren . Can you analyze the case of two Missouri sheriff’s deputies that abandoned a woman lying near the road despite being physically injured after she said she had been beaten in a DV situation and trying to get away from someone and asked for a ride to the next town?
The only time I've ever seen officers give sworn statements that someone WASN'T showing signs of intoxication! When.. she clearly, undeniably was. But, if they had taken her in, she would have had safety, water, food, a ride, and a place to sleep. Those sociopaths were laughing at her miserable and hopeless predicament. So she ended her life. One of the saddest things I've ever seen. I guess sadistic police officers only refuse to arrest if they judge it will improve a person's chance of survival. Otherwise, they go out of their way to do it, even when no laws are broken.
And it wasn’t the only case in MO. Police officers in St. Louis discovered a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, still breathing-and walked away a minute after arrival without providing aid, calling an ambulance, checking for a weapon, or radioing dispatch, instead driving away, although they later returned when another officer arrived at the scene, but pretended they just arrived, even though camera footage and GPS trackers would indicate they were at the scene. The man in that case died at the hospital the next day. According to the ME (medical examiner) report, the man suffered from depression for years, and was previously admitted to a hospital for a two-day stay due to suicidal thoughts, and he had left a note indicating he was ending his own life, and paid his roommate his share of the rent for the final months of 2023. The report indicates that he had owned the gun involved in the incident, although law enforcement later claimed that there was no gun found and that it was stolen before the officers arrived. Both incidents share one thing in common despite being hundreds of miles apart: reckless disregard, which can be used in disciplinary proceedings against law enforcement officers in Missouri. I feel like that is something that can also be covered (St. Louis law enforcement officers abandoning an injured man) in an upcoming video.
