Thanks for the shout out! I'm so really happy you liked it. When at work, someone would mention "where're we going to get lunch from", and someone would recommend 'Kim Chee 7', and then all of the food requests would come flowing in from everyone. Restaurant quality food, not merely a takeout eatery. Another place was Peppa's in Kamehmeha Shopping Center. I love their Bulgogi Beef and their Fried Potato Salad; that's one-of-a-kind. Have a fabulous week!
Thank YOU for the suggestion!! And I agree! It’s definitely more than a mere take out in quality!! And thanks for suggesting Peppa’s!! Excited to try them too!! Thanks so much for all your comments!! I appreciate it!! 😀😀
@@TinyAsianPastryGirl Thank you for being so entertaining and supporting all of our local eateries! And if you do go to Peppa's, go next door to Time's Supermarket's manapua kiosk. They're made by U-Choice In on Kaheka. That's my favorite manapua, since we no longer have Char Hung Sut and Libby's.
That shrimp tempura looks amazing 🤩. I love me some shrimp so does the wildman !!! Everything looked so good 😊.what a platter of food 🤤 great review my friend 👍
Everything was so good!! 😀 It was such a great suggestion and the chance to support and promote local food places always makes me happy! Thanks for watching Tim!! 💗💗
Kim Chee #7 is my go to place after a long day at work, I'm to tied to cook or do anything...I order ahead and my meal is waiting for me...the Portions are well above Good, the meals are spot on awesome....Clearly they do not disappoint. Mahalo's for your post...
Yes, the portion size is great for the price and the food is delicious!! I would love to try some of their other menu items too!! Thanks so much for watching and for your comment!! 😀😀
😋 That meat jun looks incredible! 🤩 And the shrimp tempura looks perfect too! 🍤 Kim Chee 7 is officially on my must-try list! 📝 Thanks for the recommendation! 💖 #meatjun #koreanfood #hawaii
Across from Pearlridge? Okay, I will google it. Wow, that rice land is still there near Pearlridge! Did they move the McDonald's out of the Pearlridge parking lot? I guess the movie theater isn't there across the street anymore (Kaonohi St) Food looks awesome!
Hey Paulie!!! Westridge is on the side of Pearlridge closest to Pearl City. You know, I think they did get rid of the McDonald’s! I remember it was across from the Sears parking lot and Longs. Not sure about the theaters, but that was where I went on my very first date ever! Oh the memories!! 😀😀
Oh! I’ve never been to Kim Chee 1! Gotta try them one day too! 😀 Everything was so good and I had leftovers for a few days! 😀 Thanks for your comment!!
U should've ate at the restaurant bc u get excellent service with seaweed soup with 3 bon chons aside from the 3 that's included with the pl8. The other sauce is for the tempura. Oh and there is a hot tea dispenser that is self serve. Good for after the meal.
Decent video. Meat Jun & Shrimp Tempura is always best fresh & hot, as people loved the crispy crunch of the egg or coating from the frying. The gochujang sauce varies as vinegar & sugar with the gochujang paste by the maker's taste might be hotter or sweeter. Korean food which I grew up eating is enjoyable as home cooking is home cooking, but it varies with consumer of time for meal, quickness and price, so depending on the consumer's hunger, time available to eat, prepare and price point, I've had so-so Meat Jun and good ones but it's hard to travel far, long and expensive if time, hunger and price is pushing the choices for a meal. Of course, sitting in and dining versus take out has other perks if assorted sides are included, the Kim Chee dine in and several other Korean restaurants throw in the sides, so it adds to the meal's enjoyment.
Thanks so much for your comment!! I agree that everything usually tastes better fresh! I vow to go back when I’m not doing a review to eat in the restaurant. Thanks so much for watching!!
In addition to Kim Chee (all of them) I also like Ono Korean BBQ's meat jun off of Dillingham. Their meat jun won't be as browned as the Kim Chee jun, but I think it's pretty good.
Oddly enough I just did my review of them today and shouted you out for your suggestion. Won’t air for a few weeks, but yep! I tried them!! Thanks for watching and thanks for your suggestion!! 😀
I always thought it was pronounced "meat jun" (rhymes with fun) instead of "meat joon". I know the Korean pronunciation is "jeon" as in "gee-on" (but really fast as if one syllable).
Thanks for your comment. I guess I’ve been pronouncing it wrong my whole life. I already did another video in which I pronounced it wrong (which I filmed before I got your comment) but I’ll make note of it for the future. Thanks.
Their chicken Katsu with that dipping sauce is awesome. But eat it there while it’s at its crispest. They should bottle the sauce and sell it. It’s unmatched. Not a plum sauce and not really a shoyu flavor either.
Oh my goodness! Now I want to try their chicken katsu and katsu sauce!! I’m intrigued! 😀 Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely keep it in mind when I go back!! 😀
Hey Joy!! I have never heard of Willow Tree, but will definitely put it on my meat jun list!! Thanks for the suggestion (and thank your ex coworker too!!) 😀😀
$17.50 for their lunch combo?! Just checked their online pricing and their lunch combo is $19 for two choices!!!! This place is XPENSIVE! I'll just go to Peppa's Korean BBQ at Kam Shopping. Their plates are below $25, NO MORE!!!!
It was $17.50 for the lunch combo (2 choices) when I went there in person. I did look at their website and it did say $19. Not sure why. Thanks for your comment.
I agree! It probably would change. Sadly I live out in Ewa and sometimes don’t have the ability to eat in the restaurant due to other obligations. I would love to do my reviews on location, though!

That's a monster lunch and I've learned something very important.... I've been saying "tempura" wrong for the last 52 years of my life. 😂
Hahahaha!! KB! Your comment made my morning!! 😂😂 I love it! 💗💗💗 Have a nice week!! 💗
Their Special for 2 is more like Special for 5! So Good!!

Kim Chee 1 is also great, in Kaneohe.

Youngs Kalbee in Aiea has THE BEST meat jun on the island.
I just did my review of them last Saturday! It probably won’t air for a few weeks, but I did get to try them! Thanks for the recommendation!!

@ I don’t know what the correct pronunciation is, I was just sharing how I’ve always heard it.
best meat jun on the island is youngs kalbee in aiea!! lol
Funnily enough, I just got through with my review of Young’s just now. Probably won’t release it for a few weeks, but I did get to try them!!

Ohhhhh!! I’ve heard that too! I’ll try it! Thanks for the rec!!!! 😀
Soon's is okay. Take out only and go there all the time cause it's close to my Mom's house.
Your cute
Hahahaha! Thanks!
thats a lot of food for $17. could be my lunch and dinner
It was a lot of food! I was eating leftovers for days!! Thanks for your comment!
I think your comments would change if you ate the food "hot and fresh" at the restaurant instead of bringing it home.
