Yep, so true. It's like, no one is doing ThunderCats figures, so if I want them, I have to pay the $55+ Super7 ones. I mean if there's not another option, you either pay the exorbitant cost or do without. Thank god NECA exists. At least there's one company out there tackling all sorts of properties and not charging an arm and a leg. And I have seen other small companies do 3 3/4" movie stuff for less, but they might as well not exist cause they're few and far between/ppl don't know about them.
Ive only gotten all of the Metallica Cliff Burton figures as they are the only ones around and they are cool figures. The proceeds also benefit the music scholarship fund which is nice. I just got my Ultimates Cliff Burton and it is great but will stay sealed as well as the 2 and 1 more on preorder 3-3/4 figures. I dont get Super7 figures otherwise so im fine spending the $20 every year or so for the new figure.
3.75" Star Wars was my childhood so I definitely dig Super 7. I love that they make figs from properties where there are few to no other options available. That said, I'm very picky with what I get specifically because of the price point. Occasionally they do go on sale so in most cases I'll wait for that.
You are also comparing Hasbro (a company that makes millions of figures) versus Super 7 (a company that makes hundreds of thousands of figures), hence they have to charge more. Also, Super 7 wasn't allowed to make anything but Reaction figures in that scale. Ultimately, Super 7 is a much smaller company and their production runs are much much smaller so their prices are a little higher as a result.
For FYE, Gamestop and Target stores selling Super7reaction 3.75 inch figures is always awesome. Those are the stores I always go to buy 3.75 inch reaction figures.
If the IP doesn't exist in any other form, I'll gladly get a ReAction figure, I cannot stand Pop figs, just a personal preference. The recent ReActions I picked up were the Willow line, and those are beautifully done! There is another company doing similar things, Plastic Meatball released EXCELLENT retro Labyrinth figures and I'm hoping at the lower price of around $14, that they will get other IPs like possibly Battlestar Galactica or maybe even permission to do things like Thundarr the Barbarian, an updated take on Captain Power (finally creating the missing ), or maybe even Spaceballs figures. I'm always confused that Super7 pursues the popular IPs that may have already existed in that scale prior.
Yeah I get 20 bucks is allot , consider this though...Hasbro has been screwing around doing these same figures and not giving you what you want plus re doing figure after figure by changing color or dumping 3rd rate characters and when they do what you want it's only an exclusive going for 3xs the price that a stupid reasons like boxing figures taking weapons away is not what people want you might get a few o ring characters here and there but good luck finding characters you want. Super7 is doing a bit more cartoon based characters with a bit more detail and better cardbacks and trying to make them available everywhere so I get the 20 bucks pricetag they have to pay for the plastic cardbacks disturbing and employees to make them I get it. I also feel sooner or later the price will either go down or eBay scalpers will screw you or simply they won't make them so no one will complain but I'm sure by that point ppl will bitch why there no longer being made?
Here’s the thing to keep in mind with Super 7: They’re not making these horror Reaction figures to appeal to the masses. They’re specifically targeting that very profitable segment of the market who are always willing to a 500% markup on something, simply because it has a marquee label (i.e., Halloween, Child’s Play, Universal Monsters) slapped on the front…the niche horror collector. You said it yourself, horror collectors everywhere always pay these exorbitant prices for cheap goods, so of course, companies like Super 7 exploit the f- out of that! Haha. As soon as the trend of “collecting horror” cools down, the prices will drop, too. I bought both of The Lost Boys David figures that recently came out, simply because the artwork was so cool, but I hated myself for doing it afterward. But, FOMO is a very real thing. Super 7 knows that, too, and they’re banking on it every single time.
Yeah, they are aimed at the horror marketer and collectors for sure. I just think at some point they are going to price themselves out of the market. I think the figures are really neat, but there are other collectibles I could get for the same price or a little bit more. The Lost Boys figures do look great and I love the upside down David.
I totally agree, they're really cool and I've folded 3 times and got 2 Xenomorphs from Alien/Aliens and a Devon Booker fig from the Phoenix Suns from their NBA set but I'm stopping there... as great as the artwork and packaging is its outrageously bad value
I would say the ones to get are those for the franchise you're most attached to. For me it would be a Shaun of the Dead figure. That being said, I have no urge to buy any of these. I'll stick with POP's (which I also stopped collecting).
The collectibles market as a whole right now is out of control. There has never more stuff to buy, even if the quality and value isn't as high as it used to be.
I have a few and you're right, they're too expensive. The card art is great, but the likenesses on the figures themselves are pretty awful. I'd rather get a Mego for $15. I don't get POPs, because I avoid cartoony items.
I love Pops, but I even cut back on those because they over saturated the market. The Megos they have at Walmart are great and definitely a good alternative.
I got my reaction figure for €5 and thb after seeing the panot quality and stuff in the store i would not pay more for it and idk if U're a transformers fan but the dino version of grimlock is pretty nice tho or at least mine is
If you are into mainstream stuff you wouldnt understand... the price point is high because so many licenses and the small niche of some lines. Not many ppl want heavy metal mascotts but the price allows ppl like me to get those things that are more obscure.. I have 100s reaction figures plus they have the best horror figure art... take teen wolf.. maybe 1000 ppl world wide would want that.. any other company would say screw um they can do without.. but the price allows reaction to make that stuff for the minority and bless them for that
I'm glad that you are getting products that you enjoy. But to say "If you are into mainstream stuff, you wouldn't understand" just makes you seem like "that guy." Let's not pretend that no other company is making Eddie the skeleton or Ghost merchandise that is a better value. Also, you can get a Mego Teen Wolf right now for the same price as a Reaction figure. To each their own though.
@@GavinLovesHorror Eddie the skeleton??? whats that? The thing I collect are not available by anyone else.. where can you get a 3 3/4 universal monsters other than the early 80s remco figures that are very expensive now. and again the mego teenwolf that i have is not a 3 3/4 figure like you can get from super 7
@@JigsawTeltow Eddie the Skeleton is the mascot of Iron Maiden, one of the most iconic metal bands of all-time. Thought being a metal head you'd know that.
@@GavinLovesHorror not to mention their website.. every figure flat rate $18.... thats pretty much the same price or cheaper than your standard figure anywhere
I actually really love ReAction figures. Love the old Kenner look (honestly prefer this style of figure over super realistic molds.) For me, one of the biggest selling points for the ones I've collected are the Ed Ripka card-art.
exactly! im 49. i have about 15 ReAction figs...mostly GI Joe. my first toyline was Kenner Star Wars when i was 5. my last toyline....before i actually collected toys....was GI Joe. the 1978 aesthetic mixed with Joes is fantastic to me. (doesnt hurt that ReAction goes on sale a lot at Target and Gamestop).
The price point has always made me pump the breaks on Reaction figures. If they were $10-$12, I would probably collect a lot of them. Great video. Saw your collaboration on CajunToyReview’s channel & came over. Glad I did. 💯🤘
What's pretty interesting is that most ReAction figure collectors don't know this line has been going on for more than a few years. For the first few, they were Funko/Super7, and the price was $10 - and ppl complained that was too high lol. But the moment the partnership ended with Funko and it became solely a Brian Flynn thing, the price pretty much doubled. I wish I still had the link to a video of a guy in the toy industry made regarding Super7. They mentioned Flynn is the most hated guy in the industry. This was before the factory debacle with ThunderCats, and the guy was pointing out how Brian has rubbed so many ppl the wrong way (including the factories in china), that it makes sense why things don't get delivered on time and the prices are astronomically high.
I disagree that they are a ripoff. You fail to realize all the costs involved, and these are not produced in large numbers, like a mass retail release. They are boutique toys. Between the licensing fees, the original card art, etc. Comparing the G.I. Joes is an excellent example of this. Hasbro owns G.I. Joe, and the card art is reused from their own vintage figures. Super7 has to PAY Hasbro to make their figures, and their card art is all new. Plus they use a MUCH thicker card stock than Hasbro. Super7 figures always arrive mint, unlike the "official" Joes.
ReAction figures are what I'd expect in a McDonalds Happy Meal, not what I'd pay $20+ for. Even as a child in the 80s and 90s these would have seemed cheap and naff compared to He-man, Transformers, Ninja Turtles, Thundercats, G.I Joe etc.
Absolutely feel the same way. I was looking through my collection and I have the Chucky/Tiffany NECA Toony Terrors set that comes with both figures (that are bigger) and it was still $3 cheaper than a 2 inch Chucky Reaction figure.
$20 Can be a little steep for a carded action figure that is not even old in Todays Time! In 1995 Star Wars POTF Reissues were going between $4.99-$5.99 At stores like: K-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, Walmart, KayBee Toys, Ect. Inflation has really took a Front Drivers Seat in these 2020-2024 Times! Although I did swallow my money pride and caved in when Super 7 Reaction Universal Monsters Wave 3 Finally Released (To complete My Collection) Their 1935 WereWolf of London Action Figure after a Two Year Delay and Paying $22! The Awesome Artwork Detailed Packaging to me makes the figure Itself Look More Awesome! You Want It Bad Enough? You Will Always Pay It!
I am a little late to the party, but I didn’t want to bias myself by looking at the comments first. Even when considering that the price has come up to an average of $20-$25 USD I still think that the purchase price is worth paying for the shelf display novelty in and of itself, just one guy’s opinion!
Relax, I'm a Professional... First off, I am a Fan Fan of Gi Joe's. This is not what we wanted, I love the idea of bringing back the original intent and look of the Joes...BUT, this is an expensive replica that does not come close to the 82-87 Joe's. I would be willing to pay top dollar for a Joe that was just an updated Joe, swivel arms, legs, o ring, weapons etc...at the prices that I saw for these, I might as well buy used collectibles from ebay because they are still have a chance to appreciate in value, these do not. Great video and thank you for letting us see them out of the packaging. If you are buying these In hopes that they will be worth alot in the future...don't hold your breath. I give this a solid 2 out of five... I said what u said!!
There is a final Faction line that is sold in Dollar tree. They are like $1.25 per figure. Super7 loves to claim that they are not sold at retail thats why they can't or license fees which to be fair can factor in, yet they are sold in Target and Toys R us in canada. if they wanted it sell better at retail they should sell them at $10 a pop with higher MLQ numbers to offset cost. This is greed.
Super7 ReAction figures are $22.99 CAD where I live. Not happening. I collect GI Joe Classified mostly and actually take them out and play with them. What do I do with 5POA like these ReAction figures have for GI Joe? Cobra Infantry can goose-step I guess, but what else? They look like the Sunbow cartoon characters, I'll give them that. But wasn't the cartoon supposed to sell the toy in the 80s, and not the other way around? The Joe generic soldiers are a great addition, too bad Classified doesn't release these, but again, $22.99?! Army builders need to be sold in value packs - we should have the option to buy 5 or 10 figures with one accessory each in a plain box for lower price. The ReAction army builders should be 5 for $22.99, not one. $9.99 CAD is the most I would spend on these individually.
2:30 It makes total sense why a figure like Chucky is the same cost as a larger figure. If you look at other lines (like original Star Wars figures for example), a smaller figure like Wicket is gonna be the same cost as Han Solo, and a larger figure like Amanaman is also the same cost. So small, medium, large, they all should be the same cost with the consistency of the price of the line. But it gets muddled with Brian Flynn that will charge more for a figure like Mumm-Ra the ever living (justify it by saying it's cause they're larger), yet when it comes to a smaller figure like Snarf, the standard price isn't lowered to stay consistent with justifiable reasoning BS they spout.
I have the half transformed mechagodzilla figure, and i love how identical it looks to the suit used in the movie. I can see how other figures are not worth it though
Funko Super7reaction 3.75 inch figures are awesome. No matter how cheap or expensive Funko Super7reaction 3.75 inch figures cost. They are always awesome, worth it, fun and useful.
When the original slasher and Universal Reactions came out they were $7 -$10 and I thought that was outrageous. I bought all of those and didn’t collect them for a long time after. I’ve broken down and picked up a few in the last couple years.
Yeah, if only Funko still distributed them for that $10 or less cost. They'd be a lot easier to find in stores, and the price probably wouldn't be more than $12 now. After ReAction became a Super7 only thing, I remember Funko selling versions of 'em with slightly more articulation (like the It remake line), and they were still the same price. You'd get 2-packs for the same cost as 1 Super7 version. Like how a NECA Ninja Turtle 2-pack is the same amount as 1 Super7 Turtle.
@@Chalor. we as collectors are enabling and encouraging the extreme price hike on horror figures and merch in general. I mean look at the Ultimate NECA figures for example. They stated out costing between $20 and &25. They’re now $35-$40 for the most part. The Toony Terror line was reasonable at $9.99 to $10 with the Chucky and Tiffany two pack being $12. The Halloween 3 trick or treater Tooony Terror figures were $40 -$45 . The $10 and $12 figures are now at $18.99 - $20. That was after the Jaws box set was only $20. It’s gotten out of hand.
I’m selective about which reaction figures I buy from Super7. I bought the Pee Wee’s Playhouse line because the only other figurines from that show are the vintage ones which, while ironically sold around the same price as reaction figures, are ROUGH looking haha. Plus, you can feel major weight on the Conky and Chairy figures. I bought both Spongebob lines (2 sets/waves) because I still haven’t seen figures come out that look as good as the ones Super7 made. They didn’t have that Kenner look, and instead look VERY properly rendered. On that set the Mr Krabs weighs the equivalent of 2 funkos in their boxes. Other than that I have pretty much the same feelings as most people in these comments. I’d collect more if they were cheaper. And being completely serious, who else is making Napalm Death Scum album cover monsters in like 3 different colorways? They’ve done some fantastic Punk/Hardcore/Hip Hop related figures that I’d never seen any company do that well looking before, as many of those stray away from the Kenner look and have just insane rendering. I try not to compare value if the product I’m buying is unique enough and no other company is making something similar. Otherwise I just go for the biggest and best looking for the lowest price tag.
Super7 guy has a LOT of licenses to pay for, and the lease on that fancy San Francisco storefront is probably astronomical. His overhead is HUGE and is passing it on to the end customer which stinks.
I'm not 100% happy with the quality or price on Super 7 myself. However, I still collect them because it's the closest thing to what I want out of a figure. I love the Kenner style, be it Super 7 or the Star Wars Retro Collection line. It just depends on who you are and what you like. I, for example, can't understand why anyone would ever pay actual money for a Funko Pop figure. They're basically just all the exact same thing and they're absolutely hideous.
I can see some interest in Funko Pops, like characters that aren't already toys. Your favorite musicians, maybe. My daughter loves her Stranger Things Pop collection but it's a standalone display in our 80s retro home arcade where it really fits in with Gremlins, Aliens, (not Pops) etc. I agree that I don't see why folks would want a Pop of an existing action figure that you can buy today. Each to their own of course, just not my taste in figures.
This product used to be affordable at $10,but the price hike to $20 is ridiculous. The quality may be unique, but it's not worth the inflated cost. I used to be a loyal customer, but now I can't justify spending so much on something that used to be reasonably priced. Disappointing and overpriced.
If you buy them, and you know exactly what you're buying, then how are they a rip-off? I may wish they didn't cost as much, but I would never say that they're a rip-off.
okay, child............nothing is a '''rip-off'' when you agree to the price by paying that price........AND.........you fully understand what youre getting for that price. just because you dont like them or cant/dont see enough value in them.........dont label them a ''rip-off''.
There's nothing really that I know in that size that is an alternative aside from actual GI Joe re-releases, etc. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Was looking to get the Peanuts & Willow figs that just dropped but they're up to $20 at Walmart now... I'm out. Happy to have my Jaws, the 1st wave of horror, Alien, & Dark Crystal series back when they were $10 but I guess that's it for me.
I agree.. I know exactly where you’re coming from.. I like the Super 7 Reaction figures but I have a hard time with the price.I have a few but I’m very selective because of the price.
Yeah man💯💯 When i started collecting figures again about 2 years ago I got several because I liked the off beat characters they were creating. But the price always hurt. I still grab the hiphop figures and had to grab Cliff Burton but otherwise I just cant do it. Now that Super7 is doing bigger IP the price makes even less sense. The Lightyear figures at $18 is ridiculous. You can get a fully articulated 4” Buzz with the cat for 9.99 from Mattel. Then i look at super7 and they packaged Buzz and the Cat separately for $18 a piece😂😂😂 C’mon Super7 wtf?!
The bottom line is that the figures, themselves, are literally the cheapest-made on the market. The problem isn't the 5 points of articulation, as I grew up with that and I love it. The problem is that their PLASTIC is very cheap and "chalky" - it's not Kenner-quality plastic (in other words, if the GOAL is to mimic "vintage Kenner", then at least make them the QUALITY of vintage Kenner - I mean, good grief, the 1978 SW figures have better face sculpts than ReAction figures) - and their PAINT apps are extremely lazy. So they charge $18 and expect people to buy them just because of the "IP" brand. The "FINAL FACTION" series that's sold at DOLLAR GENERAL for a *DOLLAR EACH* are BETTER quality than ReAction figures - which means Super7 is basically charging people $17.50 to pay for their IP licenses. When ReAction first came out and they were like $7 each, that made sense. But if FINAL FACTION can put out BETTER quality pieces for a DOLLAR - *today* - then there's just no excuse for what Super7 is charging for these things.
I agree if you are going to charge then provide the material the bubbles seem to fall off really super7 you will charge me and not pay for glue sad! I regret buying universal monsters and then they make glow in the dark Frankenstein gree then dark light version, then black and white version then another glow version then repeat till you annoyed me and lost customer congratulations Super7!
Late asf but I agree with the chalky paint application. I only have one figure and it's the green ranger and the paint application to me feels like that sidewalk chalk.
I totally agree. ReActions suck as they have little to no articulation and are overpriced. I've got a few Power Rangers villains of them just because the go with the Shodo Super Sentai line, but I couldn't willingly support the line full time.
$5 is a more reasonable selling point considering the simplicity of the articulation and sculpt. It’s the retro style and cardback that increases the value.
If they were $10-$15 I definitely buy them, it’s just a shame how much they are. The ultimates are $55 each, but they at least have tons of accessories and are fully detailed and sized.
I just like the hip hop reaction figures...all the music reaction figures should be $20...I feel that's fair ..but the rest of them I have to agree with you that's a total rip off...
If Spin Masters can sell Batman toys w/better paint aps, & more detailed sculpts & added articulation for $10/a figure or less - then Super7 can definitely figure out a way to make these either BETTER or cheaper.
Dude, the "FINAL FACTION" series at Dollar General, for a DOLLAR per figure is BETTER quality than ReAction figures. Super7 is basically charging people $17.50 for their IP license. And they'll continue to, as long as people keep falling for it.
This video has aged well unfortunately their prices continue to be to high. They are also having quality control issues. Some of the Godzilla figures look awful. Heard there may be financial issues as well.
@@GavinLovesHorror Look at the Godzilla biollante set it's so bad. bigger size but 85 a figure. I saw a few pieces I liked but I just can't justify like you the cost. Mezco seems better at that size and price point. Toys in general keep going up sadly. I'm a sculptor and painter so maybe I'm just picky lol.
Don't get me wrong; I too think they're super expensive. I just think it's ironic coming from someone who dumps their money into beatie-eyed creepy looking non-articulated boxed figures that all look the same. I mean, POP's... Speaking of better collectibles to buy. Lmao.
Sucks that those "beady-eyed creepy looking non-articulated boxed figures that all look the same" often end up being worth 10-20x the price you pay. And yeah, my Tiamat POP looks exactly like my Goku POP. The argument that they all look the same was probably relevant about 8 years ago, but they've done so much with the designs now that the argument is bogus.
@@GavinLovesHorror I know it's hard to believe cuz of my comment but I honestly meant no disrespect. It was more of a "what happened to this world" comment. I respect what u do. Didn't mean to bag on what u collect. To each his own.
There are some neat figures they've made. Being able to beef up my old Remco Universal Monsters line with other villains and ghouls is awesome. That Alien figure is amazing. Good thing is a lot of these go for a lot less in eBay now.
I cherry pick this line ALOT and only really grab certain ones that are on the larger size and chunkier. Super7 just had a sale for Black Friday and they had them at $17 each. I grabbed a TMNT Triceraton, a TMNT Napoleon Bonafrog, GitD Wing Kong and a Shogun Warriors Godzilla. These are a bit larger and felt more of being worth the price. But it's a hard pill to swallow on some of these.
Considering their limited articulation & production quality, if these figures were - say, $10/a pop - I'd buy a whole bunch of them. But w/the limited articulation, soft, simplistic sculpt & paint aps, asking anything above $10/a figure is indeed a rip-off. Now, if the figures were fully-articulated & had the same quality of, say, Star Wars The Vintage Collection? I'd happily pay $18/$19 for each.
I would get some reaction figures but, only if they were like 8.99 a piece..not 17.99 because if they would add knee and elbow articulation to the reaction figures. Then, it would be worth the 17.99.
Super7 in general is a rip-off. Everything about them puts a bad taste in my mouth. All the comments here are defending the ReAction line and nah, miss me with that shit. I don't want to police how people collect and why they collect. Your money, your choice. But for me, I don't give a crap how nostalgic I am for a character/franchise. The price has to be worth it. Sorry. Nostalgia can go play outside for the price point they have for ReAction. Spend your money how you want, but I'm gonna side-eye you on ReAction, lol. For the size, mold, paint, etc I don't even think $10 is worth it. $8 at most.
I bought some of the 2001 figures, but no more ... articulation is bad even on these figures. The 5POA figures are not worth it ... good in the late 70's, but not anymore.
Really is a bummer because I love just about everything I see from them, especially the Misfit line and other heavy metal stuff. If these dudes were 10$ I'd have so many
I agree prices have become crazy . I just stick with neca for it's horror and 8 bit game figures . I am however excited for the lost boys David by sideshow collectables and the Luna mutant glow in the dark ultimates super 7. I never bought super 7 but that'll be my only buy from them. Only sticking with monsters and horror. Collecting is a addiction
@@GavinLovesHorror just got general mills glow in the dark boo berry figure . I need frute brute yummy mummy and Carmela creeper . I didn't try her cereal yet
I agree! Too pricey! They also keep making the same figure over and over! I stopped buying them because of both reasons but I have to say price point is #1 plus they are not as durable as old Star Wars figures so that’s a no for anyone that needs to know.
They're worth it to me. Really depends on the figures you buy, and the lines you're interested in. I love their Transformers line in particular. If you wanted to hear from someone who is proud of their Reaction collection, you found one.
I've been collecting ReAction figures from the get-go when they came out with those unreleased Alien figs. During that whole time with the Funko partnership, I thought $10 was very reasonable when so many thought that was even too much. But the moment Funko left (and made slightly more articulated versions for the same cost, just not under the ReAction banner), Flynn almost doubled the price due to straight up greediness. Still collecting the line, but I have to cherry pick more. The $18-22 cost is definitely (objectively) not worth it. So removing your love of the line out of the equation, I can't see how anyone could honestly say these things are worth the cost. I'd be like saying a bare boned, lazy repaint marvel legends is objectively worth $25+, compared to a completely new tooled $20 McFarlane figure. Man, if only Mattel got the ThunderCats license back, we could get superior, more articulated versions for like $30 (i.e. Masterverse or WWE ultimates) compared to the $55 Super7 charges. Or how you can get two newly tooled Ninja Turtles figures that are loaded with (by hand) paint for the same cost as one Super7 Turtles figure.
It's the limited run and the narrow licensing choices. Plus the retro look not everyone likes. Yes, it forces you to be choosie. The Alien set is spot on. So winner there if you love Alien. Others are a meh. The Snake Plisskin from Escape From New York is disappointing as it looks like a bad knock off, so got it on sale for $7.00, no way would I pay much more. The recent Beastie Boys Sabotage set are amazing and flippers on eBay want $110 to $300 for the set of three. Detail is much better as is the card art which straight 70s plus hilarious. At retail price a deal.
I recently got lucky enough to pick up 4 figures for under £30 on eBay, came to like £7 per figure (Medieval Ash, Hero Ash, Evil Ash & Ripley). I don't know how they've not gone on official clearance for some of these 2-3 year old lines that are still fully stocked. I personally think £12-13 is the highest they should be from the start. They do about 6-8 characters per wave & at £/$18-20 that adds up quickly, so I end up holding out until I find a good deal and only get the main characters at that. I don't know how the line carries on when you're actively discouraged from collecting them by the retail price gauging. I think it'd benefit heavily from being a cheaper line because of the basic but retro style. To make them so expensive flies in the face of the original Kenner brand strategy, where the idea was to keep the scale small to sell cheaper so kids & parents would be incentivized to save up & collect them all.
The reaction figures have no articulation. Horrible paint apps. Total rip off. But so are the ultimates at $55. Ultimates shouldn’t be any more than $30 and these garbage figures shouldn’t be more than $10.
The only reaction figures I want are the roger rabbit ones. He barely gets any merchandise because Disney & Warner bros are trying erase him from existence😢
Lot of different body parts are being used on these figures so the tooling costs them. That's why they are more expensive. You have some points but still.
i feel this way about the rerelease of the real ghost busters figure.I almost bought an egon for $22 then just looked for a vintage fright feature one for $60.The vintage star wars also is a huge ripoff at 30 bucks now for a stormtrooper
But they have little to no articulation, which is the problem. They're charging you nearly the same price as a figure that can pull off almost any pose you want and is bigger.
Paying 12.05 while they’re on sale till October over at my local shop. Will hopefully be able to complete my collection without having to pay 18-20 a fig
Do you have any ReAction figures? What do you think of them?

Super7 figures are awesome! I have a huge reaction figure collection
They're totally a rip off.... but they just released Dune 84' figures I just had to get because the vintage ones go anywhere from $100-$200 EACH!
I can't fault you for choosing the lesser of the expensive options. I respect that.
Here’s the thing to keep in mind with Super 7:
They’re not making these horror Reaction figures to appeal to the masses.
I’m glad I watched this because I just about bought 7 figures on amazon, 3 Bruce Lee and 4 Rocky Balboa figure I’m glad I hesitated
I'm do my best!
I got my reaction figure for €5 and thb after seeing the panot quality and stuff in the store i would not pay more for it and idk if U're a transformers fan but the dino version of grimlock is pretty nice tho or at least mine is
30 dollars where i live
@@JigsawTeltow But you get more with larger figures. Again, I don't dislike the figs, just the price point. At $12, they'd be must have
I actually really love ReAction figures.
Glad I did. 💯🤘
Thank you for subscribing! And yes, I'd have a ton of the figures if they were $12
Target is having a huge sale on these right now. Just got Destro for like $7
What's pretty interesting is that most ReAction figure collectors don't know this line has been going on for more than a few years.
For $12 I’d probably buy one whenever I saw one just for fun, but at $18-20 I can’t hardly even look at them.
Absolutely feel the same way. I was looking through my collection and I have the Chucky/Tiffany NECA Toony Terrors set that comes with both figures (that are bigger) and it was still $3 cheaper than a 2 inch Chucky Reaction figure.
Where else can you get a Phil Lynott (thin lizzy) action figure?
Spend your money however you want!
Thank you for watching!
They only have 1 that I want, and that’s alice cooper
The 3 Reaction figures I have atm are Toxie from Toxic Crusaders, Yakko and Wakko.
This dude has a wall of Funko crap behind him and is complaining about Super 7???
Congrats, you are the 200th person to say that exact same thing.
I just got some of the Universal Monsters from a sale in the UK. I don't really collect them, but I couldn't pass up on the price.
Super7 reactions are a rip-off. When you have a wall of funko behind you 🤨
Congratulations, you are the 100th person to make the same comment!
Are the Godzilla ones though?
Have you seen the prices on MOST Godzilla merchandise?
If they were £10-12 id own loads of them, at £19.99 a figure i own '1' in my entire collection of action figures.
It’s gotten out of hand.
those pop "figures" behind you are a MUCH bigger rip off. sad but true.
Oh man, I can't believe you are the first person to make this comment on a 5 month old video. 🙄
It amazes me how anyone pays for super7. They have the gall to charge 60 for thunder cats and silver hawks, it's ridiculous.
Everything S7 makes is overpriced with shitty quality
Yeah, even their TMNT figs which look great, are still super expensive. You're paying for a brand name, not a quality piece of merch.
Fye sells regular star wars vintage collection at 35-40 bucks!
I don't fault anyone for buying Super7 stuff and they do have some cool licenses for sure. As long as you are happy, that's all that matters.
They look so Fookin terrible. I'd buy them if they weren't so expensive
Absolutely agree
If you buy them, and you know exactly what you're buying, then how are they a rip-off? I may wish they didn't cost as much, but I would never say that they're a rip-off.
okay, child............nothing is a '''rip-off'' when you agree to the price by paying that price........AND.........you fully understand what youre getting for that price.
just because you dont like them or cant/dont see enough value in them.........dont label them a ''rip-off''.
Just because they've convinced you it isn't a ripoff, doesn't make it true. By all means though, spend your money on whatever you like.
Hey Gavin! I know this is an old video, but are there any other alternatives that are similar?
There's nothing really that I know in that size that is an alternative aside from actual GI Joe re-releases, etc. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
I have some and they are nice. The price point clearly has to do with the license Super 7 has to obtain.
Super7 is a small company so the price is very high and the amount of licenses are really expensive
They still make $5 million in revenue though according to earnings reports.
Was looking to get the Peanuts & Willow figs that just dropped but they're up to $20 at Walmart now... I'm out. Happy to have my Jaws, the 1st wave of horror, Alien, & Dark Crystal series back when they were $10 but I guess that's it for me.
Yeah, $20 retail for those tiny figs is ridiculous. Sorry you won't be getting any of the new ones you want.
I agree.. I know exactly where you’re coming from.. I like the Super 7 Reaction figures but I have a hard time with the price.I have a few but I’m very selective because of the price.
At that price, you have to be selective.
Have to agree. Highway robbery.
This guy gets it
I agree if you are going to charge then provide the material the bubbles seem to fall off really super7 you will charge me and not pay for glue sad!
McFarlane’s new DC figures are 7” tall, super detailed, well articulated and $20.
I totally agree. ReActions suck as they have little to no articulation and are overpriced. I've got a few Power Rangers villains of them just because the go with the Shodo Super Sentai line, but I couldn't willingly support the line full time.
They used to be $10.00, I thought _that_ was too much.
$5 is a more reasonable selling point considering the simplicity of the articulation and sculpt. It’s the retro style and cardback that increases the value.
I really want the funko sentinel pop
If they were $10-$15 I definitely buy them, it’s just a shame how much they are. The ultimates are $55 each, but they at least have tons of accessories and are fully detailed and sized.
Always thought they looked like hot garbage so I never noticed how expensive they are. Seems par for the course though with Super7.
The Super7 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures are really nice, but also significantly overpriced.
@@GavinLovesHorror *looks at McFarlane’s $20 7” super detailed DC figures*
I just like the hip hop reaction figures...all the music reaction figures should be $20...I feel that's fair ..but the rest of them I have to agree with you that's a total rip off...
THESE ARE 22.99 at TOY RIP U OFF here in CANADA
That is rough
If Spin Masters can sell Batman toys w/better paint aps, & more detailed sculpts & added articulation for $10/a figure or less - then Super7 can definitely figure out a way to make these either BETTER or cheaper.
Dude, the "FINAL FACTION" series at Dollar General, for a DOLLAR per figure is BETTER quality than ReAction figures. Super7 is basically charging people $17.50 for their IP license. And they'll continue to, as long as people keep falling for it.
@@redadamearth - You gotta wonder how Suoer7 keeps making these Reaction figures & who's buying them? Are they turning a profit? Somehow, I doubt it.
This video has aged well unfortunately their prices continue to be to high. They are also having quality control issues. Some of the Godzilla figures look awful. Heard there may be financial issues as well.

@@twk8520 Toy prices are definitely insane. I want the Godzilla Minus One figure but $85 and waiting until September is a tough ask

There are some neat figures they've made. Being able to beef up my old Remco Universal Monsters line with other villains and ghouls is awesome. That Alien figure is amazing. Good thing is a lot of these go for a lot less in eBay now.
I'm surprised that they are more affordable on ebay, as sellers tend to overprice a lot of things. I may have to check there.
I agree. You could buy all the equipment to 3D print your own and get better value.
This is actually a really good idea.
Agreed
I cherry pick this line ALOT and only really grab certain ones that are on the larger size and chunkier. Super7 just had a sale for Black Friday and they had them at $17 each. I grabbed a TMNT Triceraton, a TMNT Napoleon Bonafrog, GitD Wing Kong and a Shogun Warriors Godzilla. These are a bit larger and felt more of being worth the price.
But it's a hard pill to swallow on some of these.
Definitely agree about paying full price for the tiny ones
Considering their limited articulation & production quality, if these figures were - say, $10/a pop - I'd buy a whole bunch of them. But w/the limited articulation, soft, simplistic sculpt & paint aps, asking anything above $10/a figure is indeed a rip-off. Now, if the figures were fully-articulated & had the same quality of, say, Star Wars The Vintage Collection? I'd happily pay $18/$19 for each.
This guy gets it! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Super7 are rippoff artists
I would get some reaction figures but, only if they were like 8.99 a piece..not 17.99 because if they would add knee and elbow articulation to the reaction figures. Then, it would be worth the 17.99.
Licensing…
$8 at most.
Glad someone said it.
They could at least add some articulation
Agreed!
I bought some of the 2001 figures, but no more ... articulation is bad even on these figures. The 5POA figures are not worth it ... good in the late 70's, but not anymore.

They are the second biggest rip off in the toy industry after grading.
I Payed for a Darth Vader that was marked down to $5 it was a steal super7 is honestly a interesting company
The super 7 store in San Francisco sells them for $20, I walked in with the intention of getting some but I opted out of buying once I saw the price.
I love these figures, yeah they are expensive but still cool.
17.99 dang it's 29.99 minimum for where I live
I think these figures are neat. But I'm the same way. I can't really justify the price point either.
Just too expensive
Reaction figures should not be more than $9.99
The reaction figures have no articulation. Horrible paint apps. Total rip off. But so are the ultimates at $55. Ultimates shouldn’t be any more than $30 and these garbage figures shouldn’t be more than $10.
When the figures from the 70’s and 80’s have more to offer than reaction. What does that tell you.
The only reaction figures I want are the roger rabbit ones. He barely gets any merchandise because Disney & Warner bros are trying erase him from existence😢
It does suck when Super7 puts out merch for movies that don't get a lot, but then overcharges for it. I do love Roger Rabbit though
Wow. Now all the RGB toys are at Ollie’s for $4 - $8.
I don't think it's a bad price considering they're the only company making a lot of this stuff and they have to pay licensing shit to even make them.
But they have little to no articulation, which is the problem. They're charging you nearly the same price as a figure that can pull off almost any pose you want and is bigger.
You should do a neca to review
I've done a few Neca reviews on the channel actually!
@@GavinLovesHorror ill check it out
