We purchased a new vehicle during a mercury rx. I picked out the vehicle and let my my husband take the lead on the documents and financing, he's a Cap rising with natal mercury rx in 3rd house. Being a scorpio rising my mercury is conjunct m/c in virgo, I reviewed the documents before he signed them. It worked out fine. Interesting though that a previous attempt to purchase a vehicle fell through when mercury was direct.

Mercury rx is also about reviewing and coming back to things. It seems on par if it fell through previously, and then during the rx, you 'revisited' the task, reviewed the paperwork and saw it through.
OH WOW! You just described today the 15th! Placed a curbside pickup and one item needed to be substituted and had to reorder. Drive up window was broken and had to go inside. Wanted a sandwich and restaurant had a hidden sign that they were temporarily closed and retraced to place I was. Needed to check air in tires and someone yells out the pump is broken and had to go down the road. And no shortage of people on the road.
On the 14th I think due to solar flare I couldn’t submit info and then a message to try again in 30 minutes.
These solar flares I heard get mess with not only electrical, but also physical and I can feel it. However, the tug O war I think is more mercury induced. Going to hibernate now😊

Mercury rules my ascendant as well as my Midheaven. I’m in a 10th year profection, so Mercury is my Time Lord. Knowing this, I’ve created a schedule of goals attuned to my birth chart and this years most impactful transits. The Mercury retrograde periods keep me on track, as I use them to revisit details of these goals that may have fallen behind. It’s been a beautiful and productive year so far.

OMG - in this shadow period I am a poster child for your examples! In one night I went back to my gallery looking for my art that was misplaced - went home and couldn't find my keys, went back to the gallery and couldn't find my phone - and within an hour found all three!

I’m mercury ruled and i’m about to close on a house on mercury retrograde! And it’s funny because today we found out it will be delayed by a few days because the seller didn’t close a permit for the electrical panel they installed… of course.

Thank you Kelly. I am an Aries rising 28°23', Capricorn sun 2°16', Libra moon 6°25'. I had a gift ready for the sweet girl who does my hair. I was half way to the salon and it dawned on me I forgot her gift. Instead of going back home, I just gave her a larger tip. I sometimes feel as if I am in retrograde most of the time🙃
