Need help for extracting dns log for a particular date say 3rd jan from dns log file

Turn on logging
rndc querylog

to view normal logs
tail -f /var/log/messages
or create a file with any name e.g "cat /var/logs/messages >> dns.logs" and then view with the comand bellow:
grep "$(date -d '4 day ago' +'%b %d'| sed 's/0//')" dns.logs
