I am still learning linux from my Windows admin exp. Your dns explanation is very clear with graphic on the right spot. The timing of words is cool because other sites explained it very fast as if to learn 5 topics in 60 seconds. Great tutorial. Thanks

This was really great video. In our small family owned business with just a few employees, we've been using /etc/hosts but i want to have single DNS server and this is getting me pointed into right direction.
Next i need to learn how to create and configure a DNS server. For example, is it simply a matter of adding the ip and hostnames to the /etc/hosts file on the DNS server? That is what i need to figure out next.
    Thanks

Thanks for the video, however it is not correct edit /etc/resolv.conf. If you just open the file the first line says to not edit this file. I do not know enough about Linux but I was hoping to learn it properly here however this is not correct at least for Ubuntu 18.04

If you want to change the DNS servers that are used by your system, the recommended way to do this is to edit the resolv.conf file.
