so, let's count the list of things that other ff villains have done that caius succeeded at. Changing the world? check Time compression? big ol' check. Destroy everything? check kill off the protagonist? check kill a god? biggest check of all. so, let me see, who is the best villain of FF? because caius clearly did what some of the best ones failed at doing and some of what they succeeded at (sephy stabbing aerith, sephy trying to change the world, kefka destroying everything, any ff villain trying to succeed in their designs by killing the main character of the plot, etc, etc) granted, it's not the biggest list, but caius clearly has a leg up on most other villains. BECAUSE HE WON!!
TheBrilliantAndAmazingGamer Indeed. And the best part of it all? It wasn't for himself. Unlike most other FF villains, his was a selfless desire to stop the pain of another. That's why Caius ranks #1 on my list.
TheBrilliantAndAmazingGamer I've always had a theory that in the end, Orphan is the one that won. He wanted Bhunivelze to return and build a new world to start over. The L'cie were branded so that Etros gate would break with the deaths from Cocoon, even though that isn't exactly how the gate broke, his goal was still achieved.
John Coleman Good to see another who thinks the same. Though, I do think Caius is definitely an antagonist. Perhaps not villain, as his motives were not for himself. Now that I think of it, he reminds me a little of King Gaius from Xillia.
see, i like how they introduced fenrir, it really fits him. the depressing twilit atmosphere, the piano, this is the first time i've ever liked the way fenrir was introduced in a final fantasy game. too bad he didn't have a more interesting role past being a living eclipse.
There was an Eclipse today, though in my state it wasn't total so it didn't get too dark but... everything looked like it was dark mode outside... like the brightness was turned down, it looked cool. If you were inside all day, walking outside wouldn't have hurt your eyes but it was still light of course.
Zargas413 Doesn't work the same. I keep getting off key. And a note sounds weird. I tried this on FF2 Revivification and Wizard's Tower, I just don't have the skill for this lol.
There's probably something out there somewhere. Most "more recent" FF games have music books to accompany them so have a google and see what you can find. Though also most websites don't include what songs are in the book. Otherwise yep, ear it is.
I LOVE this song so much, I like to walk in the night with this song in my mind. It feels like night!
Same
The beginning sounds like it has remnants of the "Prelude/Crystal Theme". We need that put back into the FF series!
It's in FF14 and 15 so your wish is ... "granted"? :/
I haven't heard it in FFXV yet... well not yet in the demo.
Far from my favorite ff, close to my favorites tracks
That violin OMG IT'S EPIC!!! The vocals also capture the scene so well.
Although the game wasn't the greatest, FF13-2 had a KILLER soundtrack
Yes great soundtrack and monster collection as well and a fun dlc too
Currently replaying this game and just noticed how epic this tune actuallyis. Really love that one.

+CrimsonEbonyTears Say an anti-hero or anti-villain?

It was an interesting touch that all the Fal’Cie and eidolons were named after FF summons
While I enjoy the hell out of this piece, the first 24 seconds or so with that piano, I just melt, it's so good.
I think it might be paying homage to the original Final Fantasy theme song, no?
one day I hope to write things that move emotion like this. what the hell is this man... this is so damn beautiful.
This theme is really peaceful for some reason while i was playing the game i had fallen asleep to this theme
Does this song have a calming yet depressing tone to anyone besides me?
I was thinking that but couldn't form it into words.
@@YChromosome99 I was thinking that. It's soothing but there's something depressing, even foreboding, about it as well.
Well the video game music composers knows how to get your attention with feelings
The best song in the game for me.
I hear this song in my head when I'm going about my life. It's like I'm in the game whoo

Only thing stupid with this is, I can't find sheet music for the piano ANYWHERE!!! GAH I WANNA PLAY THIS! IT'S SO SUPER COOL!
Thankyou thankyou!
Part of this song sounds like BGM in Orphan`s Cradle O.o
I began to like this song XD
I need to learn to play this on piano, but where can I get tabs or sheet music anywhere?
It's called an Ear. use it
