(KARL) You need to watch Ong Bak: Muay Thai Warrior. Tony Jaa's stunts and combat choreography are off the charts. plus it has a tuk tuk chase that I think you will enjoy.
Shaolin Soccer crazy plays vs a clip of real soccer and crazy accidents/fights. Not the crappy faking it all the time but the real stuff. Kicks to the head and headbutts to the chest. Full force groin kick. Ouch!
The main wrestler is Nathan Jones, who is not 6'7 but actually 6'11. Known for tearing his cell door of its hinges during a correction officers strike so he could go to the kitchen and get food for him and other prisoners. Also, one time in a Tasmanian prison they had to use 10 guards and "knockout" gas to subdue him because the tear gas just made him more angry. He was also in Mad Max, Troy and Fearless.
6'11 was his billed height in wrestling, he's actually closer to 6'9. He's also known for being a Australia's strongest man winner and a World Strongman Challenge winner, which was one of the most prestigious strongman contests during the 90s.
How about sometimes making these videos about comic book characters you think need a spotlight. Like a stupid bit, or a cool power that needs to be known.
I think they should keep doing focus videos like how this one is done. Like a single picture in the background and showing clips of what they're talking about. It helps to reiterate the point of focus in the video. This helps the viewer focus on what's being focused on. I like how focused Charl is in this video. Oh no did I spelt his name wrong, looks like I wasn't being very focused.
That long fight scene is my absolute favorite. I haven't seen this in ages, and had forgotten the name. Thanks for helping me rediscover it! Way back when, I went to a community college. My school had this one teacher who taught 3 different martial arts, I took all three with him and he would have a class movie day occasionally to show good and less known martial arts movies like this and Ip Man.
Dig the new addition to my watch list. I enjoy the tangents in the regularly scheduled programming, and I like the deep dive into the tangent-side. I've been enjoying the uncuts since you've been putting them up. You asked for potential FFF ideas: More chop socky deep dives- a riff on Tsui Hark or John Woo, something about Wong Fei-hung (yes, he was real), Sonny Chiba, Stephen Chow's work; You could look into exactly how many directors have made their names ripping the hell out of Akira Kurosawa's work; can recommend looking into Yukio Mishima if you have a literary bent.
For karl: im very happy that you decided to make another video type its always awesome to watch new content! And the idea of the show is cool! Suggestion: can you talk about heavy metal which are you favorite bands or most hated and why that would be awesome! Editor:in the intro pleaaaase keep the two punch like the other intro and dont be shy to put a text like brad, those are always apreciated and in the beggining of the video when karl starts there was no music? Or what happen? After that excelent choise in music! Also cool outro! I reaaaally reaaally like that the video was a background and karl didint cut, my only suggestion is to put the video up insted at karls body level In any case any of you read it thanks for giving us amazing content! And i hope that my rambling is useful!!!
Incorrect. This movie was known as The Protector in the US. Ong-Bak came out 2 years earlier and was basically the same plot, but instead of an elephant, it was a statue from his village that got stolen.
In ong bak 1 Tony jaa does a flying drop kick while his legs are engulfed in actual fire. And elbows a stunt double on a motorcycle so hard he cracked the helmet the guys was wearing in two. It's amazing.
Really love this idea of an additional series on the channel. Although to be fair, the way that you and Brad make these videos so entertaining means that I would be happy with any form of additional content that you legends put out!
I've seen a couple of the main actors movies, I really enjoyed them. I never heard of this movie until now though, and now can't wait to watch it. Thanks Karl and Brad. Awesome as always!
Honorable mention on the subject of Tony Jaa, when he knees Big Ben in the upper chest in Ong Bak ... arguably one of the simplest yet shockingly epic mini fight moments in martial art movie history great vid guys
The backflip light post kick is one of the coolest things I’ve seen anyone pull off without wires. Unreal movie. Check out his others. Ung-Bak 1,2&3 are all epic.
OH GOD I"M REMEMBER WATCHING THIS MOVIE. I remember being a little kid and watching this movie. I thought that it was really cool but I was too young to understand or remember the name. It's nice being able to see it after all these years.
I absolutely love this format and can't wait to see more. The only criticism I have is the thumb nail. Like the opening, the fact fiend title, and the end credits all have their own unique feel to them. The thumbnail just screams another regular video. Sorry if I come off as pretentious
"Repeating things isn't funny" Coming from the man who repeats the central idea of each episode several times, as well as making those episodes on articles he has already written. HMMMMMM
I saw this movie the year it came out. Was one of my favorite movies of the year. I'm so familiar with it that I never thought abou the fact that other people might not have seen this and appreciated it. Easily one of the best martial arts movies
I saw this movie in theatres back in 2005/2006. It was indeed released as The Protector here (Canada). I was going to the theatre with a friend to see Crank, when we bumped into a friend of his on the bus. Turns out he was also going to the movies, but was going to see this. I had already shown my buddy Ong-Bak, and neither of us had any idea there was a new Tony Jaa movie. Well, we abandoned going to see Crank, and decided to go with other buddy to see this. Was not disappointed.
This movie was awesome, saw it when I was a teen. Got it under the name of the protector, they tried to pass it off as ong bak 2. Nice one gentlemen, lots of nostalgia. Keep it up.
Enjoyed this new format quite much, bring more please! :) Btw I appreciate how you guys picked a new background song for this format to make it sound distinct, methinks it fits well. Cheers!
this is exactly what I was looking for! Highlight more obscure things that you think people should experience. I had a friend recommend the movie Interstate 60, a movie I would never have given any thought. This video was like that recommendation. MORE!!!
I liked this new series! Thank you. I'm definitely going to try and find Warrior King and watch it. I love cheesy Kung Fu movies so I'm sure I'd enjoy this.
You should check out "The Battle of Bonneville". It's a documentary about the period of land speed racing in Bonneville when people started using jet engines. It started as a rivalry between 4 guys and turned into a battle between two guys who couldn't be more different. At one point one of them crashed into a pond at over 400 miles per hour, climbed out as it sank and said "And for my next trick! ." there's so many badass moments that it's really something that you would enjoy.
I'd love to see Karl do a focus video comparing or just talking about the raid: redemption and raid 2 movies. And maybe even talk about how the 3rd one could be even better. But I love any Fact Fiend video.
As I was watching, I quoted the Simpsons description of the movie to my best friend, and she immediately knew you were talking about Tom Yum Goong. So, well described. And I dig the new format. Can't wait for TFA video.
Saw that movie years ago and watched it multiple times because Tony Jaa is a bad ass and it’s an awesome movie. One of my favourite martial arts movie!
Oh no the corners ;w; The editing is pretty good as well, only thing I could recommend would be throwing in a brief clip occasionally to provide some context for the snippets Karl brings up more often (just as that's something from Brad I enjoy, as I haven't seen jack shit for movies, and it helps with visualization)
I had sworn I had seen this movie and was so confused since it was called Warrior King, but then you said it was also called The Protector and it all made sense!
i watched the protector as soon as i could get my hands on it after watching Ong Bak when it came out on dvd. great stuff. wish Tony Jaa did way more movies.
The "one shot" fight scene was legendary. Robot Chicken did a spoof of that scene, and everytime I watch that episode it makes me wanna watch the movie again.
From my point of view, I think the editing works. It's simple, yet effective. And differs from the normal content, so it easy to see that this is it's own specialised thing. So as far as I'm concerned, no need for any drastic editing changes and over all strong effect.
Dear new editor person, kindly remember to add in the un necessary round green screen edges in the corners. Thanks.

@@D.A.R.C.I. new series there by new song but the corners is more important
Agreed! It’s their trademark!
So Warrior King is like John Wick but instead of a dog its elephants
no guns
Other way around. John wick came out later.
I saw this movie as a kid and thus is confirmed the original John Wick but with martial arts
This is precisely correct
If you haven’t seen Warrior King then watch it and tell me how badly you wanna see a hand to hand fight between him and John Wick!
I sure hope this lasts as a series- I could listen to Karl ramble for days :)
OMG, YOU WATCH FACT FIEND?
I think it’s the accent
You listen to fact fiend? Omg I love you
This is amazing, you watch Fact fiend
Also your subbed to Puffin, so not only are you Subbed to Karl, but your subbed to my favorite D&D RUclipsr, now I remember why I love you so much
Brad(Nisha?), having the fight scenes play in the background while Karl talks about them is a great addition
Matt Neufeld I was thinking that
(KARL) You need to watch Ong Bak: Muay Thai Warrior. Tony Jaa's stunts and combat choreography are off the charts. plus it has a tuk tuk chase that I think you will enjoy.
the music for the fight scenes still gets me pumped
"Hello my name is Warrior King, you killed my elephant prepare to die"
So this dude is the Asian John wick lol
You mean John Wick is the American Kham
Kyle Prindle yes yes he is
gotta start with ONG BAK before watching warrior king....clip in replies....
PhoenixOfMight Gaming was looking for this comment was going to say the same thing what a movie
Ong Bak and Warrior King are Jaa's only decent movies, sadly. Ong Bak 2 & 3 were CGI filled garbage, sadly
I thought I had accidentally skipped Thursday and jumped straight to Friday.
Disappointed that it wasn't true but glad that there is more fact fiend.
Have a natter about Shaolin Soccer. That film doesn't get enough love.
Sam Hayden Steven Chow is hilarious.
And Kung Fu Hustle.
And Kung Fu Hustle.
I love that movie and even Kung Fu Hustle
Shaolin Soccer crazy plays vs a clip of real soccer and crazy accidents/fights. Not the crappy faking it all the time but the real stuff. Kicks to the head and headbutts to the chest. Full force groin kick. Ouch!

We NEED you to keep making these. ❤️
*OMFG I STILL HAVE THAT MOVIE!!!*

have another video about more spartan bad ass one liners
Do more of these please 🙏
wdym? this is literally every video, just video documentaries
I ended up watching this movie, because of this video. It was awesome!!!
I feel like whatever you guys come out with will go over well with us
One thing you got me into watching was Futurama. I love that show. I’m on spring break and I’ve been binge watching it.
The last scenes make you cry almost like Terminator 2. Underrated movie! You guys need to see!
the cheesy bone breaking SFX make martial arts movies better though! XD
I saw this movie as a kid and I never knew it's name. You have no idea how happy you just made me karl, thank you.
Personally i have watched all of your uncut videos please post more!!!
Nisha, thank you for the great editing!
Yay. More Fact Fiend content. Also, can you talk about a movie called "Who killed Captain Alex?".
I remember watching this movie a few years ago. But I forgot the title. Now I can re-watch this awesomeness. Thanks for the reminder Karl.
Karl, talk about Kung Pow Enter the fist. It's the biggest piss taker of all martial arts movies and I love it.
DemonKingCozar On 70s and early 80s martial arts films.
Love that movie, but you have to have a very specific sense of humor to not find it idiotic.
That movie is amazing, except for the stupid Matrix parody scene and the weird tongue shit.

I love this idea. This sounds awesome. Please do more.
This is my favorite channel. Fact Fiend is one of the last channels on youtube with quality content.
Who would win in a fight? The protagonist of Warrior King or Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza?
That fight would go on for months
Us.
Fool, they would be friends
(But in a fight ill bet on kiryu)
Keep them coming!! The facts, the banter, the drinking video and now the focus video. Great idea!
ohh this concept is interesting
