I hope they rework the way mountains generate because some of these mountainous areas are just so janky and hard to travel through. Lol also they should add river systems
@@the_origame Right haha I've found the ladders to be useful also lol if you place them fast as you're falling, you can grab onto it and lower your risks of dying. I recently found the resonance archives and the location for it on the treasure map was in between these spiky mountains.
The saddle system and putting as many chests in boats as you want it looks so satisfying. I don't understand why games never do these kinds of things it makes the game orders of magnitude better it's like players can actually interact with the world. Theres no other games like this
Right, I was looking at the games minimum specs and the thing also manages to run on a potato on top of that, why we only get games like this from specific developers, I'll never know.
Some fishing updates woukd be cool. Like fishing rods to cast off the boat or some bets instead of spearfishing. They coukd add some crabs or sea cucumbers to catch too.

You need to Customise the world at the creation screen. To have ocean, change the landforms % to something like 60% or 70%, not 100%. Play around with it, 0% would be Waterworld.
Awwwh, I thought you meant the other type of "mold mechanic" which feels like some day they might implement (I would imagine for performance reasons it's not easy or a priority), it'd then be fun if that influences brewing, baking and cheesemaking.

Yeah true, something about this game does feel too linear. Recently, they added more ruins and more loot, so at least you don't need to grind resources that much to get your first tools, but you still need to hunt those random vessels, but it felt like it opened another way to play anyway
Need to remove the stupid monsters from the game… it’s like legacy Minecraft baggage. It’s bad in minecraft and it’s bad in this game. I’ve disabled as much of that garage as I can and it’s much better game/survival experience.
They have added the homosapien game mode to play on to suit those that just like surviving without drifters but with how the story is being developed I'm afraid they are here to stay.

I have to say I’m not super opposed to monsters in Minecraft and VS it’s just the way they are fed to you I don’t like. They are just ever present everywhere… like you can’t enjoy a starry night or explore a cool cave… In my opinion monsters should spawn in specific areas and not always… like trial chambers but in a whole heap of different scenarios… Creepy Crypt, a dark forest, an abandoned mill, like you know… every other mmo or rpg… designed gameplay but inserted into an open world. A risk/reward/exploration loop that sits above a survival loop. So you’re surviving, listening out for wolves, daring a dip in the ocean to fish while avoiding sharks, but then you find these dungeons and maybe the first is pretty basic and easy, you come across a deeper one, hmmm I’ll need better gear lets craft that, but now I’m hungry, oh look I found a quest chain in a chest that leads to a tower that has something to unlock a door… an endless web of interconnected gameplay. Anyway that was always where I wanted MC to evolve into but it just kinda wouldn’t let go of that initial basic loop and monster night spawn thing… and the community didn’t want change… I just feel it stagnated. Rant over, thank you for coming to my Ted Talk lol 😝

Entering a cave is like a death sentence in VS, last time I tried to do that my sanity went down and I had to run back to my house because I was being attacked by more powerful drifters, so basically all my equipment to explore that cave was useless against those insanity drifters
I like the horror elements of the game. Without them, I get bored before too long, and it turns into just another -- albeit slightly more complex -- version of Minecraft. In that game, I have a fantastic, impregnable base within about nine hours of play and see no point in continuing. 🙄🥱 Whereas in Vintage Story, the world is never anything less than dangerous almost all the time, and lethally deadly quite frequently. 😁 That challenge keeps the game interesting for me, because you really need to think things through a bit before jumping into the dark places of the world. 🤔
