Started potty training my daughter @ 23 months and she learned in 3day consistency is the best thing

New York State law requires 3 months of parental leave if you want to take it. Massachusetts too. I’m sure there are some other states, but thankfully, tides are turning and parents are being given the time they need to bond with baby 😍

In South Africa you are required by law to take a minimum of 6 weeks up to 4 months of maternity leave. However most times this is unpaid leave. You can apply for unemployment for this time, but it takes so long you are usually back at work by the time you get it 🤷♀️ fathers get optional 2weeks also unpaid.
My husband only gets 1 week of paternity leave 😭😭😭😭
In Canada, Quebec, it's 8 months upto 18 months. When 8'll go back to work, my baby will be a year and a half. I won't be paid full for these months but I don't mind because it's precious times. I cannot wait for the USA to change their parental leave.
This this thissss! And I’ve heard NJ has mandatory paid leave as well. Possibly better than NY? Don’t know the details but HERE FOR IT! Unfortunately, I’m sure my super southern, conservative NC will be wayyyyy lagging on this 😢

I agree with keeping your toddlers in the cot as long as possible, my kids were both around 3 or older before we moved them. Some people seem to like to get them in a bed asap and I dont see the need. Also I went from cot to single bed and skipped the toddler bed.

I love the matching outfits with Juniper. I really want to get matching outfits for my daughter and I. It's been a while.
My son was SO resistant to potty training at first. We tried at 22 months. I gave him a break and we tried one month after his 2nd birthday. We did no underwear and no diapers (completely nekkie except for a shirt that isn’t in the way of him peeing) for the first 3 days. You have to be very VERY diligent and watch every time they pee! After I seen my son start to pee I grab him, take him to the potty and celebrate even the tiniest of pee drops that go into the toilet. We did no mini potty. (Mini potty made potty training worse.) We did a step stool and potty attachment that will allow him to sit on the big toilet. We made flushing a big part of the fun and even incorporated some of his toys to “potty” with him.
I know it is frustrating at first, but you and Rowan got this!
😬 This is definitely so scary haha but man it would be so great if he could pull it off. Interesting note about the big toilet vs small. He has shown more interest in the big one. I’ll have to look into the size adapter. We do have a cute stool of course.
I wish I could go jump in the leaves. They're still green and on the trees here, where fall doesn't exist 😭

Jealous about the crib. My son is a little over a month younger than Rowan and started climbing out 2 weeks ago. It has been an adventure.
In South Africa a father only gets 10 consecutive days after the birth of there child with the option to take there annual leave of 21days only if leave is available and it suits the company he works for. Mothers gets 4 months unpaid leave. 1 month to be taken before the birth and then 3 months after, you can claim from the unemployment insurance fund during this time but the payouts can take anywhere to a year
.Some companies do pay maternity leave in full for the 4 months.
When is Rowan getting a toddler bed? We recently switched to one and my son took the transition really well! Hope you have the same luck🥰

Omg your excitement and joy is so genuine! It's great to see someone who hasn't truely lost that whimsical side of our childhood that so many adults do. You still remember the simple and fun things you would do as a child and now you can bring them to your children wholeheartedly. Thank you for sharing such an intimate and real moment.

I'm the one who subscribed and I don't know why it turned up as your Papa? Love the shiplap, reminds me the headboard we did in our guest bathroom...ceiling and 2/3 up the walls...my favorite bathroom! Keep a small rake in your car and when you see a bunch of leaves, park, wherever, rake them into a pile and let Rowan jump in them...I did that for you and all the Grandkids, everyone loved it! I did it as a child also...fun and fond memories for everyone! Love you and your beautiful family! Grandma

In Australia, I got nearly a year paid leave total. Some half pay over a longer period of time as a government school teacher on an ongoing contract and then the government paid leave after that at national minimum wage. My husband got 6 months paid leave from his work. He could take it in blocks within first 2 years of baby's birth so he added some to annual leave and took nearly 6 months off from when baby was born and then 3 paid days off each week after I went back to work for about 10 weeks after bub was a year old. It's not like that everywhere in Australia but the government automatically give 2 weeks (this has just been announced as increasing over the next few years) for partners and some work places give additional on top of or instead of that. You can also have all of your pregnancy, birth and antenatal care for free if you want to and the government give you a gift nappy bag filled with useful stuff and vouchers as a present when you give birth.
