Adding a target with a break circuit to the camera would make this a really interesting thing at a paintball game, other players could render the shooting system of the tank useless by shooting the target forcing the driver to exit the tank, but the tank would still be a massive threat in a game. Could be very cool to play against.
Don't even need to add a target to break the circuit on the camera. Just shooting the lens would render the weapon basically unusable. If it's going to be driven in an actual match though, you would need to encase the camera to prevent damage to it, and that would effectively increase the size of the target to hit to render the camera inoperable.
Not only is this from scrap, the time and energy put into this. His son is the most happiest guy for sure and what a dad, really, such dedication, love, thought, fun and bonding. Beyond awesome. The most amazing part of this for me is just how much attention to detail there is, even when it comes to parts that won't be so obvious when the build is completed.
Great project, reminds me of my father, who built me a go-kart with a racetrack. He had to drain a whole swamp meadow for this. I'm 58 now and I still think about it. What a lot of work. Your son will also remember what a great father he had. Well, I'm a blacksmith and while watching your video I thought over time that the tank had become quite heavy. You probably need a stronger motor now? Another suggestion how about an integrated compressor pump. An electronic telescopic sight with a monitor and so on... it's all a matter of mamon, of course. Thanks for your video, well done respect
You are such a great dad, building a tank for your son. Great job. Thank you so much for sharing how you built the tank for us. I enjoyed every moment of your building process. :). You are a great engineer.
14:39 when that happens, have a milling bit handy. Go to the other side, and using the milling bit (which should be smaller than the actual drill bit) dip a hole slowly until you've touched the tip of the drill bit (you'll know). Then, using some drill rod (always have some drill rod for punch work in the shop) punch the broken drill bit out from the other side. If the part needs to be clean on the other side, just thread that small hole, put a bolt in, cut it off and sand the surface. Nobody will ever know.
Another word of advice: You can use a longer hose hooked up to the gas canister of the paintball gun, and have a larger one mounted somewhere inside the turret. This way, it’s protected by the armor and not sticking out, and it has easier access to change it for the driver.

This man is a legend and I hope his kid truly appreciates how much of a mechanical genius he is and I hope they get many years of enjoyment out of it and pass it on to the next Generation as well!
I don't think the engine will last that long given the work it needs to do. I'd have considered a Honda generator running at optimum revs. Hooked up to a couple of wheelchair, lathe or washing machine electric motors. Paying homage to Ferdinand Porsche’s Gas-Electric Hybrid Tank designs. The idea has merit and in the world of today ... ... blah blah!
Absolutely awesome! Wonder how long it took to make? I thought like: “he’s probably going to use some tracks from a mini excavator”. But no, he built them from scratch 😱 What a masterpiece.

The sheer imagination of the guy is amazing. Doing the grind, all the parts. Using low tech and high tech. The guy has a power washer, but not a paint gun? I am a cnc machinist and this guy is epic on doing it all by hand.
I'm not sure how having a pressure washer is shocking but him not having a paint gun is...? Pressure washers are cheap and common... not many have paint guns.
Er, you really think he did any of the design work, or paid for a single thing ? The dude is literally just presenting a sponsored video for World of Tanks, where World of Tanks did everything.
I only went paintballing once and it was woods ball. Apparently the field we were on did milsim style games as well with specific scenarios and had converted a bobcat into a paintball tank with what looked like a potato gun for the main turret. No idea what the hell you could shoot out of it that would be okay to hit a person with but it looked cool.

@@briananderson1246 When did God become part of the conversation? Dude built his kid a tank!.....A TANK! He wins. Having envy for a kid who has a tank is much more benign than having to worship a deity because it demands it.
I am blown away by people like this. They make it look so easy. It requires great talent to do this. I am perplexed by all the crazy equipment I see in some of these RUclipsr's garages. How can anyone afford it? Love your dedication to this. Your son is a lucky kid!
That drill press indexer is handy to have. Without it the accuracy of the project is in jeopardy. Great job. It is wonderful to see the fruits of imagination become reality plus you maintain the hero dad status which is the most important thing
As a former US Army 19K (M1 Abrams crewmember), I wholeheartedly approve of this build! People need to start building more paintball tanks. This could totally be a new sport. It'd be like Girls und Panzer, but better. In fact, World of Tanks could sponsor it. I'm sure there be other sponsors, too. I know there'd be an audience, for sure.
If you’re into that, you can watch real tank championships (originated in Russia) with international teams competing (NATO never joins though). It’s a lot of fun, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
This is so freaking impressive. You are one hell of a clever, creative individual. Theres really no words to describe how awesome this is. I was watching without volume. I only needed to watch. If you were explaining it, I couldn't hear and you always had me wondering what you were coming up with as you built the tank.
Very cool. There are paint gun war events you can attend too. To cut down on the road noise and ware on those metal "C" channel tracks you can cut some old car tires and add strips of the tire rubber into the metal channels. Excellent job
you should make a turret that allows your son to control it independently of the hull, like how traditional tanks work... that would be absolutely insane
If you don't already have one, you should consider adding a safety latch for when you're driving with the hatch open. If you hit a bump or something, the hatch might swing forward and slam shut, possibly getting damaged or injuring you.
Came here to say this. My friend had a few fingers cut off by the hatch on a Bradley that someone forgot to secure open while they were driving. Props to whoever reattached his fingers as they worked just fine as far as I could tell.
I am awestruck. I’ve built some complicated machines in my time, from scratch and of my own (and business partners) design, but this is galaxies away from anything I could even IMAGINE building. "I built a tank for my son"
Son : exits the tank not having driven it one tiny bit
Dad : continues fooling around in the tank he "built for his son"
Can't blame him though 🙂 i would've done the same 🤣
People say - "These are men toys!", who play with a toys? - Kids! We are kids 😅
Quite sure it was built for advertisement money.. He seems to refer to WoT quite a lot.
@@SilvaDreams well what more do you want ? fun while building it and money on top, he would be idiot not to do it
i noticed when he was measuring the foot peddles they were too far from the seat for a kid. whole build was adult sized.
Great build! I especially like when you're starting a section you use hand gestures to explain the next part of the build.
The idea has merit and in the world of today ... ... blah blah!
What an amazing job. What a super dad. Mooi gedaan ✅ APPROVED
Absolutely awesome! Wonder how long it took to make? I thought like: “he’s probably going to use some tracks from a mini excavator”. But no, he built them from scratch 😱 What a masterpiece.
6 months
I thoughtvthe same. Patience of a saint track building
He built it in record time!!! Apparently it only took him 1 hour 13 min and 44 sec 😉😜
@@canellofl7112 44 sec for the tracks 😅
I wonder how much it weights ☝️😅
I stand in awe of this man’s creativity, ingenuity, talents, ambition and skills ! After seeing this video I knew I just had to subscribe. This man is a true craftsman. His son must be extremely proud of his dad. Incredible, absolutely incredible talents and skill sets.
A few years later, the son says Dad, I really need a car as I can't pick up chicks in the tank.
Awesome job! You are one great machinist, engineer, welder, and metal worker with a tremendous imagination! Your son has a great dad!
Her zaman olduğu gibi,övgüyü hak ediyorsun.Güzel iş çıkardın.
He is great father and He's an idol for all men.
I am 23 years old living in Asia and this makes my heart beat.
I've been working part-time, but I need to learn this kind of metal technique.. this is so cool
This is absolutely amazing. Like, I do a bit of machining and welding, and granted I am slow, but I don't think people realize just how much time and effort this must have taken even for someone as skilled as this guy. Absolutely killer project! I'd love to see a follow-up where he motorized the turret and fire control so it can go 360!

This guy is an absolute madman in all the right ways... Loved every second of this build! What an ambitious project, I can't believe the amount of work that went into the tracks alone! Great job, SUBSCRIBED!!!
Thanks bro. It was the most difficult part.
@@meanwhileinthegarage
The way you did it and the way you edited your clip, it doesn't look difficult. Are you a genie?
This video of your tank build was Awesome I was glued to my screen . I will probably watch this several times as I Thoroughly enjoyed it. And what an awesome gift to give your son the ultimate Dad.😂
I never wanted to shake someone's hand so badly. This guy REALLY put his sons happiness first lol. No task was to big or to small to get this thing done. I love that he built it from scratch and on his own. And whenever something broke or was off. He went back in and corrected it himself. Absolute respect to this awesome man
The sheer imagination of the guy is amazing.
He just took the paintball games to a whole new level and it would sell like hotcakes! Beyond brilliant mind!! Love WOT!
Imagine playing with that in an airsoft game ,it's like a Juggernaut on steroids lol😂😂
@@pietersloft2318 Its weak spot: the bottom. You gonna have to crawl under it to win lol (or, get on top and open the hatch I guess.)
@@ForzaMonkey well lack of visibility is a weakness, getting behind it and climbing on to open the hatch sounds feasible
@@jameskazd9951 Just like a real tank. That why tank should never send alone.
I only went paintballing once and it was woods ball. Apparently the field we were on did milsim style games as well with specific scenarios and had converted a bobcat into a paintball tank with what looked like a potato gun for the main turret. No idea what the hell you could shoot out of it that would be okay to hit a person with but it looked cool.
as someone who grew up with a physically abusive father i thank you for being such a good example of a father. you make people like me feel better. im happy for you and your family

being someone that has spent 20 years building hot rods and fabricating from scratch... that's a MASSIVE amount of work you've just shown in an hour of video, and you did a FANTASTIC job on all of it. I was seriously impressed, and then... you built tracks from scratch, HOLY SMOKES!!!
Your son is going to remember this FOREVER and your legend will only grow.
yeah - i was impressed with everything he built -
but when i realized he was building the tracks from scratch -
i almost fell outta my chair...

$150.000 dollars and 1000 man hours later....a tank for your son!! Very lucky to have you as a father!!
Amazing Dad! What a fun and wonderful tank build. Turned out way better than I could have imagined. I think it will eventually get tiring to operate it with such limited vision but I'm sure that will be addressed in time out of necessity
World of Tanks needs to add your little tank into the game as a playable tank. Awesome build! The amount of time labor and skill that went into that build is truly astounding.
it would be the worst tank. can't even rotate the turret around. turn radius is atrocious.
@@hylomane I does not have to be a good tank. It would just be fun to have it in there. For anyone that likes a challenge it may be fun to play in the worst tank anyway. See how any paintballs you chould hit them with before you die.
Doesn't matter what the "HATER'S" say, can I get an (AMEN!) here please!?!?....
That's some AWESOME dad skills here....

I'll be honest there is very little I would change here. Very sound design and just cool as heck. Your son looks happy and that is something he'll never forget. Hell I'd be laughing maniacally driving this around.
I would change the tracks to off the shelf units. While these tracks are really well built I would like the option to just buy a set. A larger 1000cc would be a bit better.
Adjustable atv shocks could work as well.
@@kameljoe21 Ya, I like your ideas, and I like his. The world is a conglomeration of billions of ideas from people with such diverse differences in background and environment, you should build one and make a video as he did hell I'd for sure watch, and probably learn sumthin.
@@bradcornelison7380 I am out of the fab business. I just can not do it any longer. I wish I could. Though I have learned quite a bit over the years and know a good idea when one comes around. I like the idea of it yet I lack the skills and willingness to do it. Video editing is something I just do not care to do.
Your son is the luckiest son in the world! Keep up the good work!
If you don't win father of the year award for that then I can't imagine why. I would have killed to have something that awesome when I was a kid. All of his friends are going envy him so much 🤣. Great job!
come on, he built it for himself, not his son 🤣
@@tyrionas "I made this tank for you but only I get to use it."
there is no way that kid can reach lower controls or see more than screen. To be honest he may not be great mma welder but it's a really nice tank / toy for when that kido will be older
I understand what you're saying but we do not want others to envy anything other than our relationship with God the Father. Inspiring others is great but causing others to envy now that is grimy and self-centered because it's a form of competition

Hats off to you sir. That is one hell of a build. This would’ve blown my mind as a kid.
Honestly you are a truly dedicated father if you are willing to spend a long time building a tank for your son

@@danpit2001 Good idea. Fill them with paint, too. Hmm. I wonder if the bank will let me take a 10 million dollar loan, if I tell them what it's for.🤔
If you’re into that, you can watch real tank championships (originated in Russia) with international teams competing (NATO never joins though).
I'm nearly speechless for what you had done. It's so incredibly job. You a cool father.. 👍
war, cool?
Very cool. There are paint gun war events you can attend too. To cut down on the road noise and ware on those metal "C" channel tracks you can cut some old car tires and
add strips of the tire rubber into the metal channels.
They would lose their minds at mil sim events over something like this. You're a master craftsman. An incredible engineer.
I am awestruck. I’ve built some complicated machines in my time, from scratch and of my own (and business partners) design, but this is galaxies away from anything I could even IMAGINE building. My hat is off to you, sir. Wow. Genius
I’m sure you don’t have time to respond to these questions, but I would love to know what your background is. I’m thinking you are or were a machinist with some self taught engineering? What is your background? Thanks for posting this. It’s inspiring. I need to get out in my shop and build something!
Thanks bro. More than 15 years in metaal processing like CNC.
