Still a newbie at this. Started learning Blender this past March. This model is still a work in progress and I only recorded up until the eyes. But figured I'd share my progress so far. Footage is sped up about 30x, so this is roughly 15-16 hours of work.
I have a tip! I can help! Despite how well you do so much of it. However, the back of your head doesn't have to be as high poly. I would recommend looking up "Quad Junctions in blender" and having a look around images at some examples. Take note of how you can reduce 4 lines into 2, or 3 into 1, etc. You can use this around the top of the head to reduce the amount coming down the neck. Its essentially what you have on the knuckles too.
Absolutely. This is my 2nd attempt at this model. The first go round I just hit so many bumps I decided to start over from scratch with this one. It was like 20 hours+ lost but, I just saw it as a learning experience. I took a break to do some simpler projects, and even through those I learned a ton that I felt more confident coming back to this character.
Hey I'm popping over from your reddit post. Makes me jealous the methods you're using that I just forget about as I don't do it so frequently. I'm trying again, more recently though. Your work and workflow is already so inspiring, you'll be able to teach it in no time! Keep it up, I'd love to see more.

i like how you drew on the topology flow. havent seen it done before, even as a beginner you already teaching things. good job
Thanks!
I picked it up from a tutorial by Bran Sculpts. It's super helpful with keeping the flow on track.
This was good! I am 2d artist learning blender 3d, every project incomplete or complete i always learn something new

Nice work!
i really like that extra mesh for the lower half of the face (jawline)
Interesting workflow, did u use numpad 1 and numpad 3 for tracing over? I heard its not good for syncing because of focal length
