If you take the 2 pins out of that plate and remove it (takes 1 min) the concave come out easier. That plate also needs to be inspected for wear. The left side where the rotor feeds from tends to take a lot of wear and can be worn thru. Those pins also need checking for wear as it can cause your concave plate assembly to move up and down several mm.

Yes, I eventually started doing that and its much easier. Taking the plate out is what they tell you to do in the book but I thought I knew better 🤷♂
