    I JUST Sub’d! I’ve had my ROLI blocks (and two controllers) for like 2+ years (basically since the release) and sadly have BARELY used them… YOU just showed me almost EVERYthing I’ve been missing! - They need to PAY you! LoL 😂

    Using BM3 seems like a nice workaround for Roli not having a configuration app for iPad. Do you have to connect to a computer to get the roli to pad layout or is there a button on the block to cycle through different modes?

    • @BrandonRico
      @BrandonRico  6 лет назад

      It works pretty well with BM3 when set up properly. Unfortunately the initial setup for this to work with BM3 requires the dashboard app that is only available on desktop or laptop. After that it just plug and play. Check out my previous video from last week on how to set this up for BM3.

      BrandonRico Simpson Thanks, once you have blocks set up to pad mode with laptop does it stay in pad mode when you turn off and on again or you you have to hook up to laptop every time you turn it on?

    • @BrandonRico
      @BrandonRico  6 лет назад +1

      Nope once it's set up to that profile, it is set to that by default even after power off and on.

      BrandonRico Simpson have you used this set up with an MPE synth like Volt or Model 15? I don’t think BM3 is capable of recording the full MPE midi data but interested if BM3 sends the full MPE data through to the MPE synth (ie aftertouch, release velocity etc)

    OK, you talked me into it, my wife is going to kill me, but I love what you can do with one. THANKS ! ! ! ! ! The Seaboard will have to wait for a bit, LOL ! I had to pause your video near the end and order the block, subbed Fam, great sounding work BTW !

    i did not know these are vel sensitive! This would be awesome for the train, i been hoping for a dedicated bm3 controller , i wouldnt be about to buy an mpc or pioneer djs 1000 if i could just get a good solid bm3 focussed hardware controller, id be far beyond happy! I been trying to fi d so thing to use at the center of my oive rig cuz i wanna start doing shows asap.

      Although it's not the perfect device. But it's a great all around controller. It would be a perfect start for someon looking to control BM3 on the go and as minimal as possible.

    Excellent tutorial! I’ve been searching for info about using a Roli Lightpad Block in iOS!
    Which brings me to another point. Whenever I try to use any of my current MIDI controllers with BM3, they just default to a chromatic mode that plays any selected pad chromatically. I can’t play the different pads as a kit via different keys.
    How can I fix this?

    • @BrandonRico
      @BrandonRico  6 лет назад +1

      Go over to the Settings>Settings and Behaviors> Audio and MIDI (on the right) > make sure "Route All Midi to Selected Pad (OMNI)" is ON. Hope that helps.

    What I’d like to see you do next with the Lightpad Block is set it up to control parameters within BM3 via MIDI CC learn. There are many videos that show the Block being used for note input, but not many examples of it being used to send MIDI CC messages.

      BrandonRico Simpson I can get used ROLI’s for $80-$130. I don’t know how I feel about pre-used instruments, but that could be an option.

      Yeah man if you can buy it cheaper go for it. Our family down in the comments Andy found one on eBay.

      BrandonRico Simpson I see you can get the new studio m version On amazon for $199, and the older model is on sale for only like $68. In your opinion would it be worth the price for the newest one, or worth saving the money for the older lightpad?
