Indiana Jones and the Wastelands of Sorrow | Young Indiana Jones Chronicles HD Re-edit

  • This is the second of my Young Indiana Jones Chronicles re-edits. My goal is to shorten the episodes; cut out bad dialogue, weird transitions, and overall make it feel more like an Indiana Jones film. This inclues adding a bit of John Williams' magical score.
Young Indiana Jones originaly included old Indy bookends with George Hall, as well as the story being told through two to three episodes. I believe that only using the teenage Indy segments of the show will help make it feel more cohesive as well as keeping it closer to what the character does in the main films (e.g. being smart, reckless, quick on his feet, etc.).

Lest we forget. This series I did watch in my teens and ever wanted to go and visit and pay respect at Verdun battlefields. I did so in 2007 and 2016.
So thank you people who did develop this show.
And thank you for this episode - i watched today and am remembering two of my direct english relatives, who fought and died at the Somme in July 1916.
    May all rest in peace.
And still - I do hope for the world to learn of our failures and not always repeating these kind of cruel wars.

I was around 12 when this show aired in '92. Marked me for life. Some of these moments stuck with me until today. As a result I love history, in particular the turn of the century, before and after, and absolutely despise war. As for this version, i didnt realize this was reedited. Fantastic job!

Excellently researched and the portrayal of combat regarding "trench warfare"(notwithstanding "the sound of the German machine gun" and that they seldom left a "serviceable" crew served automatic weapon behind even in retreat), makes this film a "gem" to watch. Kudos to one and all who made this possible.

The atrocities of war are no match for the indomitable spirit of Man, in the hopelessness of misfortune sometimes the spark of hope and courage can light even the darkest of paths.

The utter waste of life! I am a mother of a grown-up daughter. I can still remember what it felt like carrying her, feeling her move - stretching and kicking my bladder, etc. To carry, raise and love one's child only for its life to be sluttered, gassed, stabbed or burnt then left as worm food.
      Tragic.
I understand why war is sometimes necessary but the sorrow of it all turns my stomach.
The fact that this guy's editing is truly skillfully in knitting the logic and flow that one's ability to suspended belief, draws one in and put one right there, a mid the blood, guts and gore.

Bill Clinton wore my leather jacket (I loaned it to Spielberg) and his own hat while he performed all the motions for picking up the idol. Clinton wore the original Indiana Jones fedora in Russia during the Vietnam War and blew up an ammo train with the cigarette/matches trick from the movie Stalag 17. The explosion was pretty big and burned for a long time. The first part of the movie was taken from a childhood essay, Arkansas Bob and the Alligators, that Clinton apparently plagiarized from a movie serial.

Hollywood never wastes a good script, they just reuse them. I remember watching the original(?) "3:10 To Yuma" movie days before I saw the newer version starring Russel Crowe and the dialogue was word for word identical, as best as I could tell without the script. In this movie, the scene at 36:39. is a rewrite from the movie The Great Escape when prisoner Steve McQueen tossed his baseball close to the wire and used the same excuse as was used in this movie. As a matter of fact I think this is that remake, with minor changes.
I guess Hollywood thinks we are too stupid to notice or were addicted to mindless entertainment.

Sean Pertwee played Alfred the butler, i think, among others, in TV's Gotham City, Julian Firth, one of the Firths forever popping up in British costume dramas, and, of course, Edward Petherbridge, Lord Peter Wimsey in a number of adaptations, and the original Murdoch of Murdoch Mysteries.

Impossible to change the resolution without cropping it. It was filmed for TV in 4:3. Unless I stole the film from the Lucasfilm vault. The quality however, was increased by Anarchy Productions. The real work on these films comes from the editing. I've made changes to the story, dialogue, and even added new effects.
