Artists back then were refreshingly normal and not socially engineered. Same as the 80s. We've lost our spirit due to social media and politics.
It’s strange seeing this as back in the 90s he was seen as pretty self absorbed, pretentious and big headed! I personally liked Jas Mann though! He was an interesting guy!
@@AllyJBI was thinking the same. He had a reputation for being full of himself, but all I've seen of him has been quite normal. Prince as well. He knew how good he was, but in interviews he seemed respectful and intelligent. I think celebrities just get sick of dealing with phonies and hangers-on, once in a while they explode, and that becomes their reputation, fair or not.
@@stvartak7164 couldn’t agree more!
He’s gorgeous. Omg. Stunning.
Thank you baby. Call me.
@@HoLeeChit11 not the same guy
@@user-ur9wy1lt8z 🤐 don’t tell everyone
@@user-ur9wy1lt8zBut nevertheless gorgeous!😍
Proto-David Brent...
This is so accurate.
Yeah
"Go n get the guitar..."
OMG 😆
Juxtaposition records …..
Danced myself out the womb. T-Rex reference in response to the glam comments. Interviewer didn't seem to realise, I suppose.
Music in this world just ain't the same anymore!
Та, просто музыка изменилась. Эта музыка тоже была когда-то андеграундом. И обычные металлисты её не воспринимали
We need u back ICON 👑
@Daniel's Opinion nope
I loved this track as a young teen, he's so eccentric, love it!
Uggghhh this guy was so attractive it hurt.
Thank you baby. Call me.
@@HoLeeChit11 lol lol lol.... Best youtube reply ever! 😂
I'm watching the space man clip over and over with my mouth open 😂 His features are to die for.
Had a mad crush on this guy back in the day!!
Me too
Yep
He was in a band called Sand Kings before Babylon Zoo. That's a George RR Martin deep cut. George had just released the first Game of Thrones novel in 96. Ahead of the curb 👍
It may be useful knowledge to all that the Sandkings already had that name before Mann joined them, because their original singer was Andy Parton. I think it might of been bass player Dave Brown who came up with the name, since Dave designed the bands insectoid logo... Having read the story myself, it regards a race of ant-like insectoid beings - and that is likely a reference to the Beatles as the sandkings did a live cover of Tomorrow never knows. ----
Other than directing the video for Earthwheel and writing the lyrics of earlier singles, i don't think Mann much creative control in the sandkings - hence leaving. Babylon zoo is actually a spiritual continuation of an even earlier band called The glove puppets ;-)

The boy with the XRay eyes is one of my favorite Albums!
you are fucking joking?
Same here. To thia day. Genius and timeless. Way ahead of its time, this time or anytime really.
I've just listened to that album for the first time. I grew up with spaceman and it holds a lot of meaning for me. The album imo is the same. Full of knowledge and wisdom but the choruses lack.
I could listen to him read the phone book!! Whatta guy!!
Hahahaha what a legend. 14 weeks at number 1. With his song.... Then says about the crab thing hahaha. LEGEND!
I love that bit too 😅
Spaceman spent 5 weeks at number 1. Not 14
@@AmaanStormI was probably in interstellar I do apologise my dear 😂 x
@@AmaanStormI'm such a fool for getting the weeks mixed up. But do you have to let it linger 😢
@@Nivag0508 sorry that it bothers you. I'm sure you'll get over it 😁
He actually seems like quite a good laugh
I wanted him to be a megastar...
Jas Mann
Does anyone know how he's doing now
@@allidoiscry4119 movie producer, he produced Cabin in the woods.
Trabaja en OmAtomix y Virgin (en la India) y según su Twitter, volverá a la música.
@@IlariaDellaCasa Think you might be getting mixed up, he was the Exec Producer of Cabin Fever 3... most people didn't know there was a Cabin Fever 2 never mind a third though
You do the lyrics who does the words ?
Jas did the lyrics
And the words
And the music.
Probably didn't include all the notes.
But it is his album and he recorded it in his bedroom while I was probably struggling with finishing ks3 maths in mine.
That expression at 2:46 I find highly relatable. 🙂
Funnily enough, SO down to earth haha
Que papasito que era
Like everyone else at at the time I rushed out to get this single only to be horrified once I played it at home.
Why? In what sense?
@@Maxim89Il because it was in a comercial but only the part from the beginning (distorted voice) so a lot of people were expecting the whole song to be like that
@@Maxim89Il expected some house or trance track and ended up with a rock track you forced yourself to like because it cost 99p at woolies.
@@wispa1a 😂🤣
He's from my area 😎
Which area is it? 😁
Dudley, England?
@@planetx1595 nah rakegate way round Wolves...

He's like if David Brent actually made it as a famous celebrity or musician
Never mind his extra genes...
