I like your videos, but this one is a waste, and I'm not trying to impress anyone with looks. I impress by what's going on their mouth. You could just get a can of cubed pineapple and put that into the cavity. It will be held in by the beer can or whatever you want to put up the base. I always put the chicken over direct heat for about 30 min. when cooking like this to sear the butt closed holding in the juices. Then indirect heat to finish. It will still steam the same flavor even though it will be very little.
Further note. The breast skin was all split and gone drying out that breast meat because you don't need oil to "crisp" up the skin when it's standing. This should be low and slow once you sear that butt closed. Nothing does a cook like this better than a good cheap jumbo old smokey. 😊😊

Tried this a couple of months ago. I'm no longer allowed to cook whole chickens any other way! Absolutely delicious!

How you are able to compare fresh pineapple to canned one? Guy did a great job cooking this chicken and still I can see someone hating without a clue.
