do you know how many rounds he's got? he could have anything, he could be hauling around a 1911 9mm double-stack for all i know, and that's what, 16 rounds or so? like he's only carrying one clip, too.... meanwhile, this crew is running around with less co-ordinated patterns than one of those old football tabletop games with magnets under the board. they likely treat their guns like cool looking toys and wouldn't have the first clue as to maintenance and cleaning, meaning there's an opportunity for a malfunction.
i'll be honest, if they didn't have the drop on him and he had the chance to pull his weapon and find any kind of reasonable cover, my money's on him, the guy who has been to the range and isn't running backwards shooting willy-nilly in a general direction.
Give it a break.. there’s nothing about California laws “giving the bad guys an advantage” that would have changed this scenario. No matter what liquor store these guys ambushed, they would have outnumbered and outgunned anyone there even if the store clerks and the guy in the box truck all had guns.
The armed guard simply needed to have an AR and been more on alert. Even then, this could have turned deadly for him and anyone else there who tried to fight back.

I'm an armed guard in the city. This has happened more times recently than is publicized. A guard right down the street from my site got robbed right along with the site he was protecting week ago. Rumor is its the fourth guard to get robbed that way.
