  • A big thanks to Mike, Matt, and Taylor for taking Shawn with Eden Outdoors to the Rumble Room in Rumbling Falls Cave. With the largest underground room in the southeast U.S. this cave has it all from rappelling to climbing, traversing and crawling. What an experience it was. We never go caving without experienced guides and these guys are awesome!

    There is no part of me that would be willing to do something like this, but I did enjoy watching ya'lls adventure. I about broke a sweat watching the crawling part through the EXTREMELY enclosed canyon. I don't do those tight spaces, so I admire what you guys experienced.

    It's a dream of mine to get into this cave but I'm not sure how long it would take a non-athletic person to train to be able to climb up that long ass rope once you want to leave

    • @Edenoutdoors
      @Edenoutdoors  9 месяцев назад +1

      Start with short climbs with an experienced rope tech that climbs rope regularly. It's not too bad after you train the muscles used when climbing. Also comfortable gear setup for you will help with taking breaks on rope to overcome fatigue. I believe I took 30min to climb out of the rumble room. 15min of that was hanging and not climbing.

    Impressive. How long did the trip the round trip take between entering and exiting?

    • @Edenoutdoors

      I believe it was a 6-7 hour round trip.

    hey do you boys use steel carabiners for rappelling or are you good with aluminum's? I see everybody has a steel rack

      edit: I got the Petzl omni triac ...aluminum

    • @Edenoutdoors
      @Edenoutdoors  Год назад +2

      Definitely do your research and don't take my word for it but, always use steel on steel and aluminum on aluminum. Don't mix the 2. Different situations call for different gear. Never go caving or rappelling without an experienced guide who can approve your gear and do the proper safety checks.
