Can you use this data collector, more particularly Trimble Access app with your Emlid RS2 receiver? (Maybe via NMEA input?) Or is it just totally restricted to just proprietary Trimble equipment? MicroSurvey FieldGenius can in case anyone needs to know.. Thanks.
How much you pay for Trimble Access? Is it subscription? Locked down for a limited time before paying again? Or is it a maintenance plan that maintains your wallet? : / I use FieldGenius, but always wondered about Trimble software... I do know it's all overpriced. The android device is a Trimble product called the TDC600. I paid $1450 for it. I bugged Trimble about allowing it to be used on any android device and they said no. I would really like like them to allow us to buy it for any android device. This my main survey tool so I bought the full Trimble Access license. The full license allows me to use a robotic total station. It was $2400. For my other devices, I just buy the GNSS license and I think it was $1200 or something like that. I am like you, I also have a android tablet that I play around with Field Genius. I like how easy FieldGenius is to start up to use. Trimble access takes a little bit of training, but the things I am doing with it are incomparable to FieldGenius. I suppose its always about what your using it for.
