Idk, either. The only winners are the corporations who will use their stock to squeeze out the artists they hate paying but base their entire business on. Businesses these days want to sell products, not employ or pay people anything decent, and act like the biggest victims when the unemployed or underemployed can't buy their goods and services. Ironically, they respond to this by firing more people. The hilarious part is they all do it at the same time, so the situation just gets worse.
They will. They will be able to pump out so much, that it won't matter. They'll be able to pump out more, than an actual artist will, so they will make money. Especially since a lot of these sites, you have to pay like a monthly fee for, so they're going to get so much money in subscriptions. I wouldn't be surprised if eventually these companies go public, and people can buy stocks. (If they haven't already) It's depressing.

5:04 People are already losing money. It is insane the amount of massive creators, that I've seen use AI generated images in their work. It's honestly disappointing how many people have had to unfollow, because they will do like a video essay or commentary on a topic, and instead of paying for stock images or paying an artist for background images, they choose to just pay for a monthly AI service. Dami Lee, is one of the creators I had to stop watching. It was honestly very disappointing, because a lot of her content is really good. But what is so disturbing about it, is that she can afford to pay an artist. Some of her videos on the regular, hit over 1 million views. She has a massive team, she can afford to pay an artist or even pay an artist a monthly fee for x amount of work. People don't care about ethics, if it gives them an upper hand. The majority of people don't. Even people in this comment section, I guarantee have some sort of unethical view at some point, humans as a whole do not care unless things directly affect them typically, and even then they still don't care when things do sometimes. It is so disturbing. Someone else even said in the comments, that it was also used in a Netflix show. 💀 Edir : the irony, that I literally just got recommended in the bottom part of this video, where other recommendations are, a video from, " what the tales", and their is an AI image in the thumbnail 💀 Kaliente, also made a video on this, where she was showing somebody who was pushing their patreon and was using AI generated, genshin impact images. One isn't a potential threat conceptually to humanity usually.
why do AI connoisseurs think this is beneficial? what do “tools” like this accomplish? making people believe they have actual talent and creativity i guess.
I saw the tweet in the thumbnail yesterday, that was crazy. Not only are they training off our art, but our process videos? It's still bad, there are plenty of flaws, like that painted one of the dragon flying over a castle. It doesn't know what the process actually looks like, it was adding color and preventing the linework from passing through where the grassy hill was going to be. There's no construction, no separation between the line and rendering phases, etc etc. There's different methods for processes, in real art - like the digital grisaille painting method which focuses on rendering in B+W first, then applying color. Of course, like you said, it's still growing. The world will be more than just hell when these scamAI developers learn how art is actually made, *and* separate the different methods. It's like the CEO of OpenAI said: they want to replace us. It's not just a tool, it's a weapon.
The time I had an "ai artist" try to pose as an artist for my commission, it was obvious immediately. They can't do a lot of things. I have specific things I want drawn. I don't want some random, vague picture that has nothing to do with my characters or scenes. There's also often a process of doing little revisions that they can't do. If someone wants just "some random picture," maybe. But if someone wants their character sitting on plush, elegant chair on a hill with sunflowers as a wide picture, good luck getting an "ai artist" that can manage to do 10% of that.
Yeah, it sucks at doing very specific things. If you ask smth like midjourney to generate an image of a cheeseburger without lettuce it doesn't understand. It doesn't think like humans.
I think artists should just focus on the things they can do, like spreading awareness and glazing their work. Times are tough but it's important to be proactive in how you navigate. None of us knows how this ends so I believe the only thing that can be done is moving forward and protecting yourself however you can. Much love for the video bro. I really appreciate you using your platform like this😎🤙🏽💯
oh dont worry, its already happened :( sometimes google images are so skewed the 4th result will already be ai, and then every other one after that too. that happens a lot with animal pictures, which is fucked up when you consider sometimes correct identification based on details is necessary, but ai doesnt reliably generate anatomically correct images.
@@themanhimself1949a few days ago I was looking for a reference for smth i was drawing on google and literally the ENTIRE PAGE was ai. Had to scroll down so unbelievably far just to find 1 actual piece of art. Its horrible man
Okay, every artist has to start holding lawmakers and corporations accountable for ruining artist's lives. And since government officials don't give af about artists, then we need to find out who they are and what they look like, and start making a TON of AI deep fake videos of them doing and saying scandalous things, and spread it all over the internet. I bet when their lives/careers/reputations start getting negatively affected, then they'll start putting new laws and restrictions in place ASAP. They'd probably sue the creators of these AI software's, too. And let's not give the CEO's of these social media sites a pass either. If the average joe isn't safe, then neither should they be.
I don't really get why this specifically exists. You can argue that the other art generative AI is to produce art more efficiently, but how does faking speedpaints supposedly help people? If the speedpaint video is only an example of the new video AI's function, why use that as an example when artists are already mad at AI? It would be like demonstrating how realistic an art/image AI is by forging a passport, with reflective paint and codes and all of the little details, during a time when forgery is at an all time high.

Things that i noticed Ai has problems with: -hands and feet (obviously), -repeating patterns (lacing on a shoe, braids etc), -Symmetry (ex. Eyes) There are probably more, but those are the ones I recommend to look after when determining wether an image is Ai generated
Don't give up, dear artists. You're human. Many classic artists spend years on one piece. Refining to perfection. Ai is a blackbox that can't be controlled even by ai bros. Ai can't make coherent comic, animation, etc.

There is a theory going around, saying that ai prompters or DA staff are making new bot accounts to buy their own “art” from themselves. Just to make it look like it’s being sold, and has value. It’s pathetic.
The more people insult this ai like "LOL look at all the imperfections 😂😂" the more it encourages the creators to improve it so it becomes as realistic as possible. They've already made it work in the first place, what's stopping them from perfecting it to realism? There is absolutely no way around this. Art is dying.
@@DaShikuXIstop being insensitive. It's gonna affect you as well, even if you aren't an artist. and this is why we must continue, simply out of spite. after all, they're fueled by jealousy over a talent they simply cannot have the time to cultivate or care for, so why should we stop? obviously, we'll have to post it to other safer areas, but if there's one thing I've learned, its that if its meant to be ideal or "the future", chances are, its going to go to the shitter in due time. I mean take the video game market for example, the Wii U was meant to be a step up from the Wii, it was meant to be its ideal form. yet that thing sold so bad that it was nintendo's worst year in the industry. yet, what did nintendo make next? the switch, an incredibly well-selling hybrid, because there was actual thought and actual well-executed ideas put into it, unlike the Wii U, which was just made simply as a cash-grab with barely any thought at all for something new. now, continuing using games as a metaphor here, I'd describe art's process is like playing a game you got for the first time and 100% it yourself, it makes you feel actually accomplished and happy that you got to experience it, maybe you'll even replaying it for fun or to speedrun it. meanwhile, AI art is getting the game second-hand, watching gameplay videos of said game and claiming you 100%'d it yourself. at the end of the day, you'd feel empty and unaccomplished. they're doing this, because they feel the exact same as they did before, but think they will be praised because they pretended to 'make' it. so, my friends, the take-away here is that, its not over just yet, or that we're 'cooked'. its that if we give up now, we let others win, and if we let them win, we let our own judgemental sides of our own art win as well. we cannot afford to lose, simply because of some people's urge to tear others down using a tool for the wrong reasons. so, create out of spite, and for yourself. looks bad? who cares, its art nonetheless. because at the end of the day, it's going to have more value than any slob made by a machine pushes out. so yeah, stay uncontrollably you out there y'all and don't let this stop you from being you :)
Thank you for this banger post. I would also add that even if ai pages on social might get more traction, who cares, is not like those follower will want actual commission from them or actually appriciate those 'Artwork'. Most people will want a commission from you becouse they love YOUR art and YOUR style (and they want to support you)
Now I’m so scared of posting my art online because I don’t wanna get accused of doing ai art even though I’ve been drawing my entire life and work hard for my art
Always have the original file saved in your pc, if something like that happens you can open it and show the program with your art there and all the layers you used to make it, same for traditional arts, take pictures of the w.i.p. process, you'll always have a way to prove it's real. But if you wanna post in a place where no one judges you just post on cara, nowadays it's the best and safest place for artists, its owner is also an artist and she doesn't allow AI in her website, so there are only real artists there, not to mention that it's a very peaceful place and people there are very nice
I don't get their goal. Why do they want to get into artists spaces? Like if they actually did and someone started talking art with them like "I like your lineweight." or "You manage values very well "they wouldn't even understand what that means. They want to be perceived as artists but once they actually do they wouldn't be able to properly interact and just make fools of themselves...
I've been saying that the timelapses were great for the time being (early on), I knew it wouldn't last. Anything that can be digitized is not safe from AI. Your face, your voice, your likeness, your art, music, writing, videos, webpages, anything. The internet has cancer. Today, I opened up my local town magazine, and there was a page of just AI art. I wanted to throw up. On Valentine's Day, I went to a chocolate festival event and saw a T-shirt vendor, inventory ALL AI art shirts. I'm also angry because my husband keeps watching AI videos on RUclips. Probably listening to AI music.

About parasitic nature of AI. Then new character or meme template appears, promters need to wait before artist make enough artworks to them start teaching AI on it. Artist make a ton of work for popular character, so that not a problem for them, but then character is less popular, well, they need to wait a bit longer.

Honestly, all this messy AI stuff just makes me feel better about the fact that I never uploaded any of my art online (I used to beat myself up for not being productive). I feel so lucky now. I feel so bad for everyone else who has been used as training food for the AI. I wish I could take their suffering away, because I know if it was me, I would be pissed. Pissed and extremely depressed about a machine, taking my essence away and not being able to do anything about it. Having to constantly defend your skills and creativity. I would be miserable, maybe even thinking about self deleting. I hate this world. Protect your art, cherish it and BE SELFISH.
This pisses me off already since i'm both an artist and art enthusiast, but in all honesty, I believe it goes beyond even this. It's already bad enough that the cost of living is expensive as hell and the bulk of the jobs out here either suck ass, require you to go into debt for a useless college degree or just flat out don't pay enough regardless. But now people are LITERALLY being put out of work by fucking AI technology, and it's not just in the arts and entertainment industry either. I'm walking into stores and seeing it emptied of any kind of clerk or store associate because now you can literally do the shopping and check out all through machinery. HOW THE FU>CK ARE WE GOING TO BE ABLE TO MAKE A LIVING IF WERE CONSTANTLY BEING SIDELINED BY THIS AI BULLSHIT!? And now i'm speaking for us as a whole, not just from an artist point of view. I'm beginning to think those conspiracy videos I use to watch a long time ago about the government collapsing our society on purpose and forcing us into Fema Camps are actually true now, because you can't tell me this isn't being done on purpose. This kind of shit right here is why I'm now an Antinatalist.
I really hate this. The past few days I've spent hours on little sketches and I've gotten zero traction basically but ai artists can get thousands of likes. I don't do art just for the following and I recognize my art isn't the absolute greatest but it's real, it was made by hand and not by some system being fed a prompt.
Honestly im considering returning to more traditional art. Like scultping in clay n stuff. The digital art space has been invaded and i dont think we can take it back at the moment. Unless everyone starts poisoning all the art they post with nightshade
I just thought of a (possible) solution. AI still has trouble with hands, so couldn't you just do a livestream of your hands drawing for a bit, then periodically stop to do a "real hand check" by wiggling our fingers and do other hand gestures to prove that you're real? An AI that's trying to feed off of your data would have a hard time replicating your hand gestures without messing it up.
still trouble with hands, yes, but also, its not like its improving at extreme speeds. there was a time ai couldnt generate a persons face without making them horror or when hands had 3 and a half fingers, but now they create almost realistic videos. i wouldnt be suprised if the hand checks would be fed to an ai specifically to fake a check or generally train real hands. sigh.
@@themanhimself1949 Everyone keeps saying that AI has improved with hands, but I have yet to see it outside of demo videos. And even those high quality videos are in slow motion, and/or the hands maintaining one pose, which allows the AI to keep up with what it's doing.
AI art is trash because making art is equally about the journey as is it the outcome. AI will never understand the former. The only people who enjoy AI art / think AI art is okay are mouth-breathers who we wouldn't want possessing our art anyway.
"Actual Art takes Time, Efforts, and Energy." That's exactly the problem, you know. We live in a Capitalist society, where they are considered to be costs that should be minimized/eliminated as possible. So, there's no way to stop the current trend. Most likely, it keeps accelerating exponentially.
Historically art hasnt been taken that seriously or at least from the late 20th century till today. Usually artist didnt got relevance till they passed away or passed a lot of time.
@@NeoEvanA.R.T I don't think they had much of an Art Market there. The government gave such jobs to state-approved artists. So their system was not comparable with ours at all to begin with.
The idea that actual art takes time effort and energy is stupid in and of itself. Who the hell are you to decide what actual art is? Art is something that belongs to everyone. If I tap a rhythm with my finger on my desk, that is as much art as beethoven writing a historical piece of music. It did not take me any sort of effort or energy to tap my desk, but it is still music and thus art. Gatekeeping art is such modern entitlement, it's unreal. You do not get to decide what "actual" art is. Art is art, no matter how it is made or who makes it.
I hate that AI art is being treated as real art. Like you said, AI art has no soul, and it shouldn't be a replacement for real artists' art. The other part that I hate is that AI art absolutely has a place in the world, but these people give it a terrible look. Me personally, I think AI art is a very useful tool. I am personally not an artist, my main passions are in creative writing and game design, and I use AI art whenever I need a reference for how a character is supposed to look in a book I'm writing or something like that. If I were to ever get official art of anything I publicly put out and endorse, it will NEVER be AI art. Anyways, thank you for coming to my little TED Talk.
I quit drawing six months ago. Before that, I spent 5 years and a lot of money on training. I worked at home like an Asian for 8-12 hours on my skills. My parents helped me at that time to make my dream come true. But then there was AI and these people who are happy to be who they are not. At first I was annoyed. Then I saw that the audience didn't care if it was drawn by a human or an AI. It got to the point of insanity, and I decided to stop, stop worrying and just watch from the sidelines. To watch as if I have no emotions. Now I see clearly that there is no stopping it. All attempts by artists to unite, for example, on the Cara website, is like closing artists to themselves. The truth is: the audience does not plan to distinguish between artists and AI. She doesn't care about that. It's interesting to see what the future will be like.
I'd advise you to draw for the sake of maintaining your skills. Don't share it on the internet, just amongst your loved ones and friends. There is a decent chance that AI will start learning off of AI art and the results will get blander and worse as time goes on. Besides, you can fight AI by creating accounts on Instagram/DeviantArt just to post drawings (made by you for poisoning purposes) with crappy anatomy/AI-like mistakes and hope the AI gets worse from feeding off of your work.
@@mozesmarcus461 i swear, ai will not fall off. Guerrilla warfare is also not a good waste of time. I'm thinking of devoting time to finding myself and practicing drawing, probably…
These AI/tech bros keep saying thier tag lines about "adapting or dying" and in some part, that's not a bad sentiment... - Train your eyes to spot the fakes like in any other echo system suddenly flooded with counterfeits. - Keep promoting people to be creative, and don't accept products made with fakes, there's already a stigma building around it. There are those trying to say that these gen images and videos will get so good that nobody will be able to tell it's AI, and while the "quality" has somewhat improved, the opposite has happened. It's far more obvious now when something is generated.
Little reminder: if the internet goes down, they won't be "artists" anymore. This is why I'm not afraid of them, because in every ''down'' case, I will have my skills to restore in traditional art anyway. 😄What a shame lol, they're proud in being fake and gaining likes and popularity. For me, I'm proud in having natural creative skills based on my emotions, things than any AI can't have.
The AI that can differentiate between bear claws and croissants is being used to identify sickle cell anemia, that’s a good use of AI. You hate GENERATIVE AI specifically, generative AI is inherently destructive and adds no value to society, other forms of artificial intelligence are being used for good. Generative AI is shit.
My brother is majoring in computers in college. His degree will be useless in five years. I love drawing but I can’t even post my art without it being stolen. I love society
In the future if everyone, even experts, can't tell the difference between AI and real art, how is it poissible to justify the cost of taking the time to make something by hand? The exact same thing happened with factory automation replacing mainstream carpenters, CGI and special effects replacing traditional filmaking methods, and synthesizers changing the roles of musicians. This isn't going away. :(
The only thing I disagree with is that AI will be beating everyone to the punch with artwork when a new thing comes out. All the AI has is a collection of images to go off of. If the thing its trying to draw is completely new like an original character design then theres not gonna be enough, if any, reference images for it in its library. A human just needs one or two images to reference the look of something. An ai needs hundreds of thousands of images just to be able to remember how many fingers a hand has.
that speedpaint didn't look realistic at all why are we freaking out over the nonsensical way of drawing. ignoring technical matters, AI doesn't really know how to draw, it just knows how to mash things together. it doesn't know or understand the process that would go behind actually creating what it puts out so it's not going to be able to sketch properly or understand the flow of drawing (you don't just work on random parts with zero correlation at random times) until hella advancements flow in. problem is, the people making the AI things can't really draw, themselves, so they're already at a disadvantage. not to mention the final product still has the same flaws as other AI art + the whole dead internet thing
When you do art just for fun, all that doesn't have much influence upon you But we definitely should stand by the side of our fellow artists that do art as a job and are losing their work because of all those scammers using AI
This not only sucks for actual artists, but now you have something to invalidate video evidence in crimes, even if it's for a little bit, as one person replied to a comment here. Additionally, it's not like the AI bros actually care that everytime they generate an image, it takes as much electricity as charging a smartphone from empty to full.
At the end of the day AI bros will never be able to draw what AI makes for them while artists can get there through practice. It's play pretend and kind of sad.
I think people will always want traditional art because of the human aspect. Art is emotions, thought and passion in it a computer will never understand that it just pumps out “pretty” images. AI is just gonna be more like a scam rising where they wont be telling people its AI art and selling it seeming to be real. That sucks for real artist and should be illegal its lying about a product.
Its funny all the ai artists think their gonna make big money when someone can just do what they do for free on their own Also any conversation with them is > Theres no problem > Its not a big deal > Its happening its a big deal and its a good thing
On the up side, it still seems like it can't fake certain key parts of the process like drafts and construction drawings. Most artists don't work without making an under-drawing or draft sketches. Showing the full process might be the way to go from now on.
What's going to happen to the AI Art Bros when their stuff goes corporate? I've noticed the AI gets throttled every time it does something accidentally offensive.
I can recommend the video Polyphonic made on the topic of AI art (it's actually on AI music specifically, but the points he makes also apply to visual art).
Worst part of this is that even if we stop drawing and making picture art all together, they will end up making a thing for sclupture, architecture and design that will take over the plastic arts and they will be so good at it they will only need a camera to actually make the piece, literature and music don't fare better either, nor are the visual arts, out only hope is performance art and even that is taking hits so yeah we won't have a job in the near future, but nor will they either

It's honestly disappointing how many people have had to unfollow, because they will do like a video essay or commentary on a topic, and instead of paying for stock images or paying an artist for background images, they choose to just pay for a monthly AI service.
Dami Lee, is one of the creators I had to stop watching. It was honestly very disappointing, because a lot of her content is really good. and this is why we must continue, simply out of spite. after all, they're fueled by jealousy over a talent they simply cannot have the time to cultivate or care for, so why should we stop? obviously, we'll have to post it to other safer areas, but if there's one thing I've learned, its that if its meant to be ideal or "the future", chances are, its going to go to the shitter in due time.

I dont even know anymore, man...
Ai art destroyed art
Commenting for the algorithm. This is very important to talk about! I hope things will work out for us artists.
OH NOOOOOOOOOOOO
AI art is trash because making art is equally about the journey as is it the outcome. AI will never understand the former.
The only people who enjoy AI art / think AI art is okay are mouth-breathers who we wouldn't want possessing our art anyway.
PREACH.
Luckily ai is absolutely terrible at recreating prehistoric animals, so I’m chillin
"Actual Art takes Time, Efforts, and Energy."
That's exactly the problem, you know. We live in a Capitalist society, where they are considered to be costs that should be minimized/eliminated as possible.
So, there's no way to stop the current trend. Most likely, it keeps accelerating exponentially.
You act like the Soviet union won't do that if they were still existed.
Historically art hasnt been taken that seriously or at least from the late 20th century till today. Usually artist didnt got relevance till they passed away or passed a lot of time.
@@NeoEvanA.R.T
I don't think they had much of an Art Market there.
@@DaShikuXI but the Beethoven one is definitely going to be better.
Maaaaaan, why can't people stop messing with each other. Artists are minding their own business and someone, somewhere decided: NO!
This is basically like NFT's all over again, except even worse
I think it's best to refer to it as AI image generation. Calling that schlock art gives it too much credit.
If AI falls off, then you can go back to social media and not have to worry about AI bros
@@mozesmarcus461 i swear, ai will not fall off. Guerrilla warfare is also not a good waste of time. I'm thinking of devoting time to finding myself and practicing drawing, probably…
Im just like youuui :3
At least poorly drawn art is still safe!
CAN'T TAKE MY STICK FIGURE DRAWINGS!! YEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!
Bro legit if you look up “female fantasy armor reference” it’s all AI images 😢
theres alot of them in reddit subs theyve got multiple account and actually getting comms from people who didnt know its ai
I hate this so much, ai shouldnt exist
Mmm not its entirety
@@demeraracake4475 maybe
The AI that can differentiate between bear claws and croissants is being used to identify sickle cell anemia, that’s a good use of AI. You hate GENERATIVE AI specifically, generative AI is inherently destructive and adds no value to society, other forms of artificial intelligence are being used for good. Generative AI is shit.
ai is good for certain things, but the people who use it for malicious purposes (eg. blatantly stealing art) should kick the chair
An ai needs hundreds of thousands of images just to be able to remember how many fingers a hand has.
and I thought at least traditional artists are safe...
there's a bright side to this, their "art" can never be copyrighted
Someone out there hates artists so fiercely.
I still don't understand why nobody's ever tried to sabotage these ai corpos?
that speedpaint didn't look realistic at all why are we freaking out over the nonsensical way of drawing. ignoring technical matters, AI doesn't really know how to draw, it just knows how to mash things together. it doesn't know or understand the process that would go behind actually creating what it puts out so it's not going to be able to sketch properly or understand the flow of drawing (you don't just work on random parts with zero correlation at random times) until hella advancements flow in. problem is, the people making the AI things can't really draw, themselves, so they're already at a disadvantage. not to mention the final product still has the same flaws as other AI art + the whole dead internet thing
When you do art just for fun, all that doesn't have much influence upon you
But we definitely should stand by the side of our fellow artists that do art as a job and are losing their work because of all those scammers using AI
It's play pretend and kind of sad.
that rabbit girl looks pretty wonky
I think people will always want traditional art because of the human aspect. Art is emotions, thought and passion in it a computer will never understand that it just pumps out “pretty” images. AI is just gonna be more like a scam rising where they wont be telling people its AI art and selling it seeming to be real. That sucks for real artist and should be illegal its lying about a product.
Its funny all the ai artists think their gonna make big money when someone can just do what they do for free on their own
Also any conversation with them is
> Theres no problem
> Its not a big deal
> Its happening its a big deal and its a good thing
my head is in my hands. it is SO over
When I thought AI bros couldn't be anymore despicable they keep upping the ante.
On the up side, it still seems like it can't fake certain key parts of the process like drafts and construction drawings. Most artists don't work without making an under-drawing or draft sketches. Showing the full process might be the way to go from now on.
RIP ART
Beginning of human history - 2024
God is smiting everyone and everything. So pay attention to him.

If you have a passion for art or love to draw then please don't stop! Just because people can make AI art doesn't mean humans should stop
