I actually had an AC vendor bring down small data center outside of normal business hours... temps were over 130F in the room when it was discovered at start of business. Temp alarms were alerting, but no outside notifications were configured. All the Novell servers went down. They had been up for years. Some SCSI drives wouldn't restart due to stiction. Others warped platters. tape backup wasn't configured correctly, and put everything in a flat structure, the storage tree would need to be manually rebuilt with new permissions assigned in the rebuild. Automated call system was also brought down, but no damage. This brought a call center for a major mortgage collections call center down for 16hrs, all staff needed to be sent home until server services were restored.
the secret is to screenshot the solution before playing. I wish someone had explained this before on the RSAC speech. Because I had no idea how to share the deck on zoom with other people. dang it people. it's always the simple things.
Hopefully you'll make the physical version available again, I would love to use it for my clients/students. In the meantime thanks for the online version!
They do not. We had some dice in our inventory for conferences, that we didn't get to use during Covid, so we'd sneak a few into the deck packages, but we ran out and have been able to source more due to supply chain issues.
