  • In this presentation, Jefferson Lai at Labcyte and Dr. Nur Hasan at CosmosID demonstrate a 10-fold reduction in reagent consumption and the associated costs using the miniaturized and time-efficient library preparation of 16S rRNA amplicons and Nextera XT whole genomes using the Labcyte Echo 525 Acoustic Liquid Handler in concert with CosmosID’s microbiome bioinformatics platform. They demonstrate that miniaturized reactions produce sufficient reads and high-quality data, while using typically one-tenth of the volumes described in standard protocols. Raw data can be processed and analyzed with strain-level resolution and are interpretation ready within the hour using CosmosID’s industry-leading cloud-based platform. This new NGS solution for microbiome analysis allows researchers to save costs and time while expanding and accelerating the scope of research projects.

Beads settle quickly, how did you manage to keep them suspended during the transfer process in the echo?
