I like that it doesn't throw cuttings like string trimmers. Dont like making a mess in some areas. I have a quick-lock but will pass because of the price.
Milwaukee is really pissing me off with their pricing. They are not being remotely fair at all. I understand it's a premium brand and all, but please explain to me how rotary scissors are more than double the price of the articulating hedge trimmer attachment? It's the same crap as the broom attachments. The price has no correlation to actual production cost.
Im still recovering from sticker shock, but will suck it up and add these to the collection before too long. Painting my white vinyl fence green with the string trimmer is getting old.
Those are newer to Milwaukee. However, Red Max made these 20 years ago. We used them for crisp edges on sand traps on the golf course. They can be game changers in specific applications. Ofcourse they weren't battery powered.
Like these reciprocating scissors for the mere fact they are easy to see the cutting edge. Unlike some weed eater strings that I find difficult to see. Good review Brandon
Still on the fence with these. Mine just arrived. I think I have the same fence as you. Its so hard to get close when you cant go under it without hitting it. it cant be good for the paint and if you don't get close it leave blades up against the fence. I picked the attachment up because I didn't want to be beating up my pretty aluminum fence with a string trimmer. They do make a great cut but I'm not happy using it against the fence.
The more you practice with them the better you'll be over time. Took me a while to get used to power rotatory scissors and I have been using them for about 3 years before getting the Milwaukee reciprocator.
@@TurfCulture Thanks thats good to know. My fence is the main reason for giving them a shot. People don't realize how easy it is to make an aluminum fence look bad. I know I didn't. Everything sticks to it and its such a pain to clean.
Just as a follow up I returned it. Wow they are so bad. can't see with them because grass builds up on top so you have no idea where you're cutting and it really gouges things. Also man if you clip a fence or anything they make a god awful noise like you bent the blade. It eventually goes away but I really do not like them.
@@TurfCulture So, I pulled the trigger on the Milwaukee just to see what it was all about. Unfortunately, it's not a universal design so it couldn't' mate up to my gas Stihl. Returned to Home Depot. Bought the Stihl version and absolutely love it.
Didn’t appear to be trimming firmly against the fence rail which would then leave tall blades requiring another pass with a string trimmer. Am I missing something?
Haven't quite pulled the trigger on a quik-lok yet but am leaning heavily that way. But the cost of these rotaries will likely keep me string trimming for the foreseeable future. And edging with it seems murderous on the blades!
I never heard of a power rotary scissor. I spend way too much time with a string trimmer trying to trim my close cut Zoysia turf. It is time consuming to get the cut I need and leaves a white haze in the area I trim because the string trimmer is ripping the turf versus cutting it. You mentioned a power scissor you use but looking through your videos I did not see it. What is the non-Milwaukee power rotary scissor you are using? I bought the Milwaukee trimmer / pole saw / blower combo a few weeks ago, but still interested in the other unit that you use. I am still deciding if I am going to keep the Milwaukee package I purchased because I have read a number of complaints about the battery case melting when used in the trimmer. I called Milwaukee customer service and the agent said never heard of the issue yet there are a number of complaints about this on the HD site as well as others. Have you had any issue with that or heard of it yourself?
@@TurfCultureI have a couple of edgers. I would not use the power scissor for edging just strictly for trimming up along the outer edge of my entire yard. How would this work say with 1/4-3/8 woody brush berries in a wire field fence clearing operation. standard rotary blades are tough to control and tear up wire fence. but how would this tool work on small woody brush as compared to the hedge trimmer attatchment, I cant even figure out which plane the 270 degree adjustment is in for that tool to see even if it would work?

Too expensive, plus I'm thinking about changing platforms... I was a huge fan of my M18 lawn equipment when I upgraded from Ryobi, but now I'm doubting their battery quality. Going on my 3rd season, both M18 batteries I own come off the charger at 3 bars. First season I could trim my whole yard on one battery and have some left over to use the blower. Now I get 3/4 of the way and have to swap to a 2nd battery. Forget about putting them in the blower, they last like 5 minutes. Same issue with my M12 tool batteries, after a couple of years of light use, run time is noticeably diminished. For the price of the batteries; 2 year, maybe 3 year warranty on most of them is just not enough. I just sent my M18 batteries off. Hoping they replace them, if not I'm out on M18, cut my losses now. Bought an EGO blower with 2 batteries for 299, a ton more power than the m18 blower and run time is fantastic. Plus 5 year warranty on the batteries.
@TurfCulture Milwaukee refused the warranty since I purchased the blower and battery from Amazon, and my trimmer set that was registered with them came from Home Depot. Bro has a 20000-30000$ fence….
Are you SURE thats a Milwaulkee tool? Its not red. Maybe you got a conterfeit tool.
Sorry meant to say Rheeeobeeee.
those are safer around cars and people. doesn't send rock missiles.
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble, I’ve been on the Milwaukee platform since 2014 and haven’t really had any issues.
@TurfCulture Milwaukee refused the warranty since I purchased the blower and battery from Amazon, and my trimmer set that was registered with them came from Home Depot. I no longer have the receipt (HD gpes back 24 months). Milwaukee got rid of all their registration records and won't honor anything.
lol all i saw was you blowing the trimmings into the neighbors yard
My lawn extends past the fence line.
He’s blowing back into his property 😅
Still way too expensive imo.. I can still buy the idechs for 250 and it takes 10 minutes to attach them
You ain’t wrong
I wish they made it sand alone not a attachment .shoud be much less expensive. Seem s to me
That's more on the lines of a scissoring action rather than a reciprocating action.
Nice, but wayyy too expensive!
made in China that makes every other hand held battery tool?
Not made in China.
wow the Attachment alone is 300 lol
$400???? insane.
🤷♂️
Exactly what a joke...
I have the Idech Power Rotary Scissors and I attached them to a Milwaukee extension quik lok pole $60ish. No reason for me to get this.
I did the same with my EGO power head
Bro $399 for an attachment is that bad!
Edgit Pro instead.
Tried it, didn't really like it personally.
Compatible with ego?
I don’t believe so
I knew it would cost 4 bills before you even said it, Milwaukee tools are way over priced.
Worth every penny
Have fun to $$
I like to have fun to $$
Too expensive. I paid 400 for the mower!
Kawasaki had this many years ago and even made it for redmax
This is an old idea, been tested extensively by others. Net result, not a game changer.
That's like, your opinion.. man.
