    I like that tool, and i have the quick lock system edger, string trimmer and chain saw. They also made a broom and a few other things.
    One thing this tool needs is a hight adjustment and wheel for edging.
    You should edge with the edger once or twice a year and use the clippers to cut that way you have a gap between the pavement and lawn that way you do not damage the blades. Plus the gap looks nice

    Someone needs to make a set of lawn mower blades like this to fit lawn mowers and tractors a cut blade of grass grows more healthy then a blade that wipes around to cut the grass more like a reel mower cuts.
    You know when i was a kid back in the 60s we used something like sheep shears to trim the edges down on our knees. Thats why weed Wackers took over.
    A weed wacker back then was a metal blade on a pole you wiped back and forth.
    Ive got both tools but at age 64 im not about to get on my hands and knees or sling a pole back and forth.

    I never heard of a power rotary scissor. I spend way too much time with a string trimmer trying to trim my close cut Zoysia turf. It is time consuming to get the cut I need and leaves a white haze in the area I trim because the string trimmer is ripping the turf versus cutting it. You mentioned a power scissor you use but looking through your videos I did not see it. What is the non-Milwaukee power rotary scissor you are using? I bought the Milwaukee trimmer / pole saw / blower combo a few weeks ago, but still interested in the other unit that you use.
    I am still deciding if I am going to keep the Milwaukee package I purchased because I have read a number of complaints about the battery case melting when used in the trimmer. I called Milwaukee customer service and the agent said never heard of the issue yet there are a number of complaints about this on the HD site as well as others. Have you had any issue with that or heard of it yourself?

    • @TurfCulture
      @TurfCulture  2 месяца назад +1

    • @timrussell5988
      @timrussell5988 2 месяца назад

      @@TurfCultureI have a couple of edgers. I would not use the power scissor for edging just strictly for trimming up along the outer edge of my entire yard. The reel will only cut so close to the ending. I have done a bit of research, it seems the Idech is the brand a lot of people use. For those reading this, ASK-V23 is for the Japanese market and the ASK-MW23 is for the global market. The global version will fit larger shaft sizes. The Japanese market version is available on places like eBay for less money than the global version. It seems if the trimmer shaft size is compatible with the Japanese version that may be the one to purchase.

      I can hold my own with a string trimmer too, but I like the precision of a scissor tool that cuts like a reel mower when I'm trimming on low cut turf. Trimmer line rips and tears the grass blades, using a rotary scissors or reciprocators results in a cleaner cut.

    🤷🏼‍♂️
    I’m a hardcore Milwaukee Tool Owner/User since the 70’s.
    When they came out with a 1/2” battery drill that could keep up with a Magnum I picked up their battery platform.
    I guess if you’re a landscraper this thing has some value but … really?
    I worry about all this new stuff and directions Milwaukee is getting into … especially Hand Tools (non powered).
    Its my experience that Tool Companies (especially powered) do a few things extremely well but the more stuff they get into the more mediocre they become.
    So far I haven’t seen Milwaukee “falling off” but …

      So far Milwaukee has been pretty darn reliable in every category they enter, ask mechanics how they feel about the latest release of impacts. A lot of them are ditching air tools for M18 tools.

    Too expensive, plus I'm thinking about changing platforms... I was a huge fan of my M18 lawn equipment when I upgraded from Ryobi, but now I'm doubting their battery quality. Going on my 3rd season, both M18 batteries I own come off the charger at 3 bars. First season I could trim my whole yard on one battery and have some left over to use the blower. Now I get 3/4 of the way and have to swap to a 2nd battery. Forget about putting them in the blower, they last like 5 minutes. Same issue with my M12 tool batteries, after a couple of years of light use, run time is noticeably diminished. For the price of the batteries; 2 year, maybe 3 year warranty on most of them is just not enough. I just sent my M18 batteries off. Hoping they replace them, if not I'm out on M18, cut my losses now. Bought an EGO blower with 2 batteries for 299, a ton more power than the m18 blower and run time is fantastic. Plus 5 year warranty on the batteries.

      @TurfCulture Milwaukee refused the warranty since I purchased the blower and battery from Amazon, and my trimmer set that was registered with them came from Home Depot. I no longer have the receipt (HD gpes back 24 months). Milwaukee got rid of all their registration records and won't honor anything.

    400 dollars is insane for a product so late to the game. The Idech power rotary scissors are $160 all day everyday on eBay with adapters for every trimmer that doesn’t have a head based motor. I bought a refurbished Husqvarna 128 and some rotary scissors for a total of less than 280 dollars complete out the door.
    AND you can grease them. To say you don’t have to grease rotary scissors is a lie. That Milwaukee runs on hopes and dreams 😂

      I own both, these reciprocators and Idech power rotary scissors. I’ve been using the PRS for a while now and I did mention that you need EP0 grease. Reciprocator attachments have been around for a long time now Milwaukee is just now introducing them to the market.
