    I would add that Gotway users tend to use their wheels a bit more to extremes, demanding more out of batteries and thus quickening the degradation.

      Does that make Begode’s incorrect battery choice and poor BMS design somehow the fault of the rider? Begode sells on their reputation for building ‘extreme’ performance wheels, they even have their newest wheel named the Extreme - as you sow, so shall you, or rather the misled customer, reap!

    To my knowledge, no creator has provided a critical EUC element and I was hoping you could fix this. Everyone talks about the manufacturers but no one talks about the dealers. Can you do a review of EUC dealers in the United States.? It would be helpful to have a summary of all the dealers, how they rank, their brick and mortar locations, how the wheels are warrantied, what the dealers stand behind, the process if there is a problem, etc. I keep seeing destroyed wheels on the internet. It is hard to get enthusiastic about investing into EUC without some understanding of what warranty safety nets exist and which dealers will be the most reliable.

      I'd love to do that, thanks for the idea! I personally recommend all of the dealers that are in all of my video descriptions, and I have bought products from all of them. They are all very reputable, but some have varying warranty processes. The discount dealers such as Next Gen Mobility and EUC Deals carry the standard manufacturer warranty - which is not nearly as long, but they pass on tremendous savings to the user because of that. Another USA dealer that I recommend (which is not in the description) is Rev Rides. They are highly reputable and communicative, and do a lot of sponsoring for Amped Electric Games. I am a cheap guy, so I like Next Gen Mobility the most myself. But if I wanted to get the best possible warranty coverage, I'd stick with ewheels.

    I would guess that one reason why Begode has had more fires is because they've probably sold more wheels. The raw number of fires isn't a useful metric unless you also know the total wheel sold. I don't doubt Begode has had issues and they certainly don't have the greatest quality, but my experience with them (and I've owned 3), has not been bad. Ewheels did replace my RS batteries and I upgraded to Molicel which made the RS a much "punchier" wheel.

    A few months ago I did my research when buying my first wheel. Begode was nowhere on my list of wheels to get. Hot charge ports and seeing mostly their wheels turning into fireball (plus seeing my friend crash on his Hero and it disintegrated) I decided on an InMotion wheel for my first wheel. Though it would be nice to have an American EUC manufacturer but with the high risk of EUCs I don't think any US company would take on this challenge. Plus the price would probably be astronomical compared the the ones out now.

      Hey, to each his/her own. IM is a good company too, but my video was just made to show that Begode is markedly better than they were a few years ago. I'd also love an American-made EUC, but the price tag (due to higher labor costs, insurance, etc) on those wheels just couldn't compete at all, I think. Now on the other hand, if the R+D was done in the USA, then the production/assembly happened in China, then maybe it could worm... 🤔 Hmm...

      @@vl589 the V8F Is a good EUC to start on, but you will definitely outgrow is very quickly. If your budget allows you to get something a bit newer, I'd recommend something a bit more capable, such as a Begode T4 Pro, Kingsong S16 Pro, or Begode A2, I'd recommend those instead. They are more waterproof, with newer (stronger) batteries, with higher torque and are capable of higher speeds. The V8F isn't "bad" - it's just that you won't likely get as much use out of it as you would with a more powerful "starter" EUC - unless you plan on getting something stronger after outgrowing the V8F, of course.

It's going to be interesting to see how quickly it's commercialized and whether or not it can increase the power density per kg. If pev manufacturers could reduce weight elsewhere to make up for the increased battery footprint, in exchange for eliminating fire hazard- it seems like they'd take that deal.

    I submit there is a 5th & perhaps a 6th reason why those specific wheels tended to be more 'explosive' prone. When the all 3 of the GW wheels were launched, they were amongst the highest, if not the highest performing wheel of their kind. In fact the RS ht is still the vaunted non suspension king of the offroad hill to this day. Needless to say, because GW/BG do not limit their speeds nor performance, many tended to take advantage of this & rode their wheels to their limits, meaning besides the high current demands, there are likely more crashes, dumps & whatever else than all the other makes, of its day. Also due to its simplicity of design, many were modded for extra performance & range. I'm betting some (or perhaps alot) of the fires were riders going beyond the design parameters, diy mods &or due to previous crashes leading to latent batt &or relevant component damage. Just a thought. But overall ya, these are Chinese companies with no liability consequences so safety was not job #1. That said, BG's seems to have come a long way as witnessed by their latest offerings. Kudos to you to approach this topic with a objective pov 👍

So, they will deserve “the stamp of approval” of any sane EUC customer, only when they will disclose the cells used in all the EUCs they sell. We know, the reliable cells (like Samsung 50E or Molicel) are being used only in bigger wheels starting with Master and Sherman Max. Why these better, safer cells aren’t being used in smaller wheels, under 30kg? From what I know, these safer cells are more expensive than LG cells. I did say that because I didn't want it to look like I was trashing KS or IM in particular, but just wanted to show that they were largely the same in their approach.

      @@WheelGoodTime All EUC manufacturers are scammers regarding QC, the cells used and their disclosure, the respect of the Warranty, and the obnoxious, dishonest prices in relation to aforementioned. I would like to buy another EUC, being sure it will last (at these high prices) at least 3 years. I have a hard time trusting one (I refer here mainly to the battery cells, which are most expensive and prone to premature failure).

      @@WheelGoodTime That’s why all this industry of lithium ion batteries and the vehicles based on them are a big scam. If they are not reliable, the prices shouldn’t rise. This rising in prices, despite poor quality and safety, is artificial and unfounded, is liberal, globalist politically sustained for the gains of the crooks involved. Those who buy them, willingly accept to be scamed. If no one would buy them, the prices would sink rapidly. These electric devices, especially EUCs are not “bleeding edge”, but “bleeding pockets”.

      I think the reason why there were 0 veteran fires is partly dumb luck from using different battery cells, but it is hard to argue against the fact that veterans are (for the most part) put together very well.

      LK is an offshoot from the GW days. They got to start off with a clean slate, kinda like how China's big cities are more modern with better infra than our supposed 1st world US cities. TBH it would not be surprising to discover that the LK crew were amongst those that designed the 'explosive' GWs. Just a thought

    Another reason Begode had more fires with those LG cells- they were the only one with high output, 100 volt wheels. The competitor wheels in those days-S18, V11, 18Xl, 16x, etc are only 84 volt. That's much less strain on the cells themselves.

    • @WheelGoodTime
      @WheelGoodTime  Год назад

      Very true! 🙂

    • @cleverchimp
      @cleverchimp Год назад

      I don't think that's quite so. An 84V wheel has fewer cells in series than a 100V or higher. For a given power output, the 100V or higher will draw fewer amps from the cells. High amp draws stress cells. So if you want to lower that stress, you need to add more cells in series to raise the voltage.
      The reason Begode/Gotway packs failed more is that their famously high performance, i.e., power levels, meant that they were drawing higher current from the cells regardless of pack voltage. Higher voltage is a mitigating, not exacerbating factor here. But the real culprit is the controllers/firmware that allow higher sustained amp draws than the cells are rated to handle safely.
      The better safety rate of IM, KS wheels is largely because they are lower performance, i.e., they cap the max power level to safer levels.

    • @freeforester1717
      @freeforester1717 Год назад

      Doesn’t explain why the Veteran wheels don’t burn, that’s more to do with the company philosophy behind the former Gotway designers and engineers, something they took away from Gotway/Begode when they left to build solid, reliable and safe wheels. This latter attribute didn’t figure much in G/B’s design criteria.

    What evidence was shown to convince you? Did they show the maximum power draw of each of their EUC Model versus the maximum sustained power their battery packs can supply? Last time I checked these power EUCs still over draw the battery packs? Evidence? The EUC voltage drops clearly indicate battery being maxed out exceeding capacity… these fires are not going away just waiting for the wheels to age and accumulate battery damage.

    • @WheelGoodTime
      @WheelGoodTime  Год назад

      Evidence? You mean battery cell data sheets which give specifics about their rated capacities? And voltage sag is not indicative of a battery's capacity being overloaded. It's indicative of a high load being placed on it, and those are not the same thing.
      I also present the fact that no current models have spontaneously caught fire as evidence.

    Sorry but this is all nonsense. The Begode RS, Nikola and all older models had motherboard on side, right under the battery, without any internal cover and without fuses. The overheat of the motherboard cause fire on battery. Since few years Begode use internal plastic cover on motherboard. Also all new models have motherboard on top of the EUC. The S18 and V11 have motherboard on top, that is why motherboard burn don't cause battery fire. Simple but hard to understand for most of the people.
