  • Had a request for how to size and print Pepakura patterns from Michael. This is one that was already filmed, so I went ahead and used it as a Monday post, even though it doesn't really qualify as a "craft" project per se. It's one that was guest-filmed by my brother, since he's the resident Pepakura master of the family. His voice kind of fades out at points, so if you can't hear something, feel free to ask.
    Before you try printing any Pepakura patterns, you'll need the software. You can download the pepakura viewer and designer (you'll need both) here: www.tamasoft.c... (I don't think they have it available for Mac users yet).
    And if you're in need of Pepakura patterns, www.pepakura.eu has a ton of them you can download.
    Hope you enjoy this video. If you have any questions or requests for future tutorials, feel free to leave me a comment below. I post a new cosplay tutorial every Thursday and a new crafting tutorial every other Monday, so check back next week for more DIY goodness.

    Just came across this video now. Thank you for showing me how to get rid of all those unnecessary pieces. I saw the pepakura kit template for my Rex cosplay and freaked out lol.

    You know that stretchy material you use in the Spider-Man thing I was thinking you can use that stuff for the arms and the hands of the andorian

    • @Thewoodlandelf
      @Thewoodlandelf  7 лет назад

      Yup that's easy enough. Knit material makes great form-fitting gloves and sleeves and stuff.

    everytime i try to print it says "the size of the paper specified by pepakura designer is not the as printer setting adjust scale?" plz help i new to this

    • @Thewoodlandelf
      @Thewoodlandelf  4 года назад

      Sounds like a setting on your printer itself. If you go into the printer settings through your computer, you should be able to change the printer paper selection so it matches the pepakura.

    I still don't understand at 2:10 please can you explain more? Because i'm printed the file always bigger than usual

    • @Thewoodlandelf
      @Thewoodlandelf  5 лет назад

      2.10 shows how to measure to see how big everything is. You run the line between the two points, and it'll bring up the measurements box. Write down what you see there, so if your first print is too big or too small you can adjust. (It usually takes a couple shots to find the right print size, so scrap paper is good to use).

    Hello friend, I wanted to print in an a4 printer the Pagani Zonda car molds in real scale using Pepakura, would it be possible? If so, how do I do it?

    • @Thewoodlandelf
      @Thewoodlandelf  2 года назад

      I'm not familiar with the Pagani Zonda car mold, but if there is a pep file for it, then yes, you should be able to open in it the program and scale it to whatever size you want. If you're looking to actually create an original pep file for that particular design, I'm not sure how to do that. I've only ever used the pre-made patterns in the software. I've never tried creating my own. They do have ways of doing it, I'm not just not familiar with how.

    • @GamerPro-nw5lf

      @@Thewoodlandelf here in pepakura I'm trying to put the real measurements of the car, but for example when I change the Height measurement to a measurement I want, automatically the Width measurement changed its size without my permission, and I wanted to put the Height measurement at 44.9 and Width in 80.9, but I can't put the real measurements of the car, because when I put a measurement automatically the other changes by itself, what do I do?

    • @Thewoodlandelf
      @Thewoodlandelf  2 года назад

      Gotcha. Unfortunately there's no way to take that off that I know of. It's locked, so if you adjust height or width, the other one automatically adjusts as well. So what I would suggest is print it twice. Once for width, and once for height, and then taping the patterns together to get the appropriate dimensions you need.

    • @GamerPro-nw5lf
      @GamerPro-nw5lf 2 года назад

      @@Thewoodlandelf how do you print the width once and the height print the other time? And then paste the patterns to get the proper dimensions I need? Could you explain what you mean by that? I didn't understand so much

    • @Thewoodlandelf
      @Thewoodlandelf  2 года назад

      Ok, so like you'd do the printing for the width, lay those out. And then print the height, and cut them, so you could spread them out according to the width, laying them on top of the width pieces. There might be some blank spots you'd have to fill in with a pen to connect the two. Definitely wouldn't be easy, and I've never actually tried it. I'm just kind of surmising how it would be done.

    can you make video pepakura sever4?

    • @Thewoodlandelf

      I can't because the pepakura isn't my software. I just show how to use it for costumes in this video. The pepakura software itself was created by someone else.

      To do that, just flip the pieces mirror image. That way when they print out, all the printed lines can be hidden on the inside.
